1ヨセフの子らのくじは、エリコのそばのヨルダン川、エリコの水の東から始まり、エリコから山地を通ってベテルへ上る荒野に及んだ。
1And the lot for the children of Joseph went out from the Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, going up from Jericho through the hill-country to the wilderness, even to Beth-el.
2その境界はベテルからルズへ出て、アルキ人の境界を通ってアタロトへ進み、
2And it went out from Beth-el-luz, and passed along unto the border of the Archites to Ataroth.
3西のほう、ヤフレテ人の境界に下って、下ベテ・ホロンの境界、さらにゲゼルに至り、その終わりは海であった。
3And it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, unto the border of Beth-horon the nether, even unto Gezer; and the goings out thereof were at the sea.
4ヨセフの子らであるマナセとエフライムは、彼らの相続地を受け取った。
4And the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
5エフライムの子らの、その氏族に従った境界は次のとおりであった。彼らの相続地の東の境界はアタロト・アダルから上ベテ・ホロンに至り、
5And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus; even the border of their inheritance eastward was Atroth-addar, unto Beth-horon the upper.
6その境界は北側のミクメタトで西へ出る。境界は東に曲がってタアナト・シロに向かい、その東側を通ってヤノアに進む。
6And the border went out westward, Mich-methath being on the north; and the border turned about eastward unto Taanath-shiloh, and passed along it on the east of Janoah.
7ヤノアからアタロト、ナアラへと下り、エリコに達し、ヨルダン川に出る。
7And it went down from Janoah to Ataroth, and to Naarah, and reached unto Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
8タプアから境界は西のほうカナの川に進み、その終わりは海であった。これがその氏族に従ったエフライムの子らの部族の相続地である。
8From Tappuah the border went along westward to the brook of Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families;
9これに加えて、マナセの子らの相続地のただ中にあるエフライムの子らのために取り分けられた町々、すなわちすべての町とその村々があった。
9together with the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
10彼らはゲゼルに住むカナン人を追い払わなかった。そのためカナン人は今日までエフライムの中に住み、強制労働に服している。
10And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in the midst of Ephraim, unto this day, and became servants to do taskwork.
