1イスラエルの人々の全会衆はシロに集まり、そこに会見の天幕を設けた。その地は彼らの前に征服されていた。
1And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; and the land was subdued before them.
2イスラエルの人々の中には、自分たちの相続地をまだ分けられていない七つの部族が残っていた。
2And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
3ヨシュアはイスラエルの人々に言った。「父祖の神、主が与えられた地に入って自分たちのものとするのを、いつまでためらっているのか。
3And Joshua said unto the children of Israel: 'How long are ye slack to go in to possess the land, which the LORD, the God of your fathers, hath given you?
4各部族から三人ずつ選び出しなさい。彼らを遣わそう。彼らは立ち上がってその地を巡り、相続地として分けるために調査して記録し、私のところへ帰って来なければならない。
4Appoint for you three men for each tribe; and I will send them, and they shall arise, and walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance; and they shall come unto me.
5彼らはそれを七つの分け前に分ける。ユダは南の自分の境界内にとどまり、ヨセフの家は北の自分の境界内にとどまる。
5And they shall divide it into seven portions: Judah shall abide in his border on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their border on the north.
6その地を七つの区分に分けて記録し、ここにいる私のところへ持って来なさい。私はここで、私たちの神、主の御前で、あなたがたのためにくじを引く。
6And ye shall describe the land into seven portions, and bring the description hither to me; and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.
7ただし、レビ人にはあなたがたの間に分け前がない。主に仕える祭司職が彼らの相続分だからである。ガド、ルベン、マナセの半部族は、主のしもべモーセからヨルダン川の東ですでに相続地を受け取っている。」
7For the Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance; and Gad and Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.'
8男たちは立ち上がって出て行った。ヨシュアは、地を調査しに行く者たちに命じた。「行って地を巡り、調査して記録し、私のところへ戻って来なさい。私はここシロで、主の御前であなたがたのためにくじを引く。」
8And the men arose, and went; and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying: 'Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come back to me, and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD in Shiloh.'
9男たちは行って地を巡り、町ごとに七つの区分に分けて書物に記録した。それからシロの宿営にいるヨシュアのところへ帰って来た。
9And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven portions in a book, and they came to Joshua unto the camp at Shiloh.
10ヨシュアはシロで、主の御前で彼らのためにくじを引いた。そこでヨシュアはその地をイスラエルの人々に、それぞれの分け前に従って分けた。
10And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD; and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.
11ベニヤミンの子らの部族のくじが、その氏族に従って引かれた。彼らのくじの境界は、ユダの子らとヨセフの子らの間に出た。
11And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families; and the border of their lot went out between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
12北側の彼らの境界はヨルダン川から始まる。境界は北側のエリコの側面に上り、西のほうの山地を通って上り、ベテ・アベンの荒野で終わる。
12And their border on the north side was from the Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north, and went up through the hill-country westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beth-aven.
13境界はそこからルズへ、南側にあるルズの側面、すなわちベテルへ進む。さらに境界は、下ベテ・ホロンの南にある山を通って、アタロト・アダルに下る。
13And the border passed along from thence to Luz, to the side of Luz — the same is Beth-el — southward; and the border went down to Atroth-addar, by the mountain that lieth on the south of Beth-horon the nether.
14境界はそこから延びて、ベテ・ホロンの前にある山の南側から西のほうへ曲がり、ユダの子らの町であるキルヤテ・バアル、すなわちキルヤテ・ヤアリムで終わる。これが西側である。
14And the border was drawn and turned about on the west side southward, from the mountain that lieth before Beth-horon southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kiriath-baal — the same is Kiriath-jearim — a city of the children of Judah; this was the west side.
15南側はキルヤテ・ヤアリムの果てから始まる。境界は西へ向かい、ネフトアの水の泉へ出る。
15And the south side was from the uttermost part of Kiriath-jearim, and the border went out westward, and went out to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah.
16境界は、レファイムの谷の北にあり、ベン・ヒノムの谷の前にある山の果てに下る。さらに南側にあるエブス人の側面に沿ってヒノムの谷に下り、エン・ロゲルに下る。
16And the border went down to the uttermost part of the mountain that lieth before the Valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the vale of Rephaim northward; and it went down to the Valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite southward, and went down to En-rogel.
17それは北へ延びてエン・シェメシュへ出て、アドミムの坂の向かいにあるゲリロトへ出て、ルベンの子ボハンの石に下る。
17And it was drawn on the north, and went out at En-shemesh, and went out to Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim; and it went down to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
18さらに北側のアラバの向かい側へ進み、アラバに下る。
18And it passed along to the side over against the Arabah northward, and went down unto the Arabah.
19境界は北側のベテ・ホグラの側面に進み、境界の終わりはヨルダン川の南端にある塩の海の北の入り江となる。これが南の境界である。
19And the border passed along to the side of Beth-hoglah northward; and the goings out of the border were at the north bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan; this was the south border.
20東側の境界はヨルダン川であった。これがその周囲の境界に従った、ベニヤミンの子らの氏族による相続地である。
20And the Jordan was to be the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the borders thereof round about, according to their families.
21その氏族に従ったベニヤミンの子らの部族の町々は、エリコ、ベテ・ホグラ、エメク・ケツィツ、
21Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and Emek-keziz;
22ベテ・アラバ、ツェマライム、ベテル、
22and Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth-el;
23アビム、パラ、オフラ、
23and Avvim, and Parah, and Ophrah;
24ケファル・アモニ、オフニ、ゲバ。十二の町と、その村々。
24and Chephar-ammonah, and Ophni, and Geba; twelve cities with their villages:
25ギベオン、ラマ、ベエロト、
25Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth;
26ミツペ、ケフィラ、モツァ、
26and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah;
27レケム、イルペエル、タララ、
27and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah;
28ツェラ、エレフ、エブス人の町、すなわちエルサレム、ギベア、キルヤテ。十四の町と、その村々。これがその氏族に従ったベニヤミンの子らの相続地である。
28and Zela, Eleph, and the Jebusite — the same is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kiriath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
