1Удїл синів Юдиних по родинах їх випав такий: В межу з Ідумеєю був степ Син, від полудня, при кінцї Темана;
1And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.
2Їх полуденна гряниця сягала від кінця Солоного моря, від простираючогося на полуднє затоку його;
2And their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looked southward.
3І простягалась на полуднє від Скорпіонового проходу до Зина і тягнулась на полуднє від Кадес-Барне, і підіймається просто на полуднє на Гезрон; та йде просто на Адар і повертає на Карка.
3And it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka.
4Звідтіля тягнеться на Азмон і йде далїй до Египецької річки, і кінчиться над морем. Се полудення гряниця.
4And it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the Brook of Egypt; and the goings out of the border were at the sea; this shall be your south border.
5Всхідньою ж гряницею служить Солоне море, аж до вʼустя Йорданї. А гряниця від півночі починається від затоку морського від устя Йорданського.
5And the east border was the Salt Sea, even unto the end of the Jordan. And the border of the north side was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan.
6Тодї підіймається гряниця вгору на Бет-Гоглу і йде на північ від Бет-Араби; далїй тягнеться гряниця вгору до Боганового Каменя, Рубененкового.
6And the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
7Відтак тягнеться гряниця вгору на Дебир від Ахор-долини та й повертає од півночі на Галгал, що стоїть навпроти проходу Адуммимського, що навпроти річки на полуднї. Тодї тягнеться гряниця на Ен-Семесову Воду і йде далїй до Рогел криницї.
7And the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the brook; and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel.
8Тодї тягнеться гряниця в долину сина Енномового на полуднє від нагірньої стїни Евузійської, се Ерусалим. Тодї тягнеться гряниця вгору на верх гори, що стоїть на захід сонця перед долиною Еннома і разом на північньому кінцї Рафаім-долини.
8And the border went up by the Valley of the son of Hinnom unto the side of the Jebusite southward — the same is Jerusalem — and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward.
9Від вершин же гори повертає до криницї Нефтоах-води і йде далїй на городи Ефрон-гори і повертає гряниця на Баалу, се Киріят-Ярим.
9And the border was drawn from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah — the same is Kiriath-jearim.
10Від Баала ж повертає гряниця на захід сонця до Сеір-гори, тягнеться дальше на північ нагірньої стїни Еаримської: се Кесалон, і йдучи на Бет-Самис, проходить через Тимну.
10And the border turned about from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim on the north — the same is Chesalon — and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah.
11Тодї йде границя дальше на північ аж до нагірньої стїни Екронської, і повертає гряниця на Шикарон; проходить через Баал-гору, і йде далїй аж до Ябнеїла та кінчиться край моря.
11And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward; and the border was drawn to Shikkeron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12Західню же гряницю робить скрізь велике море. Се гряниця навкруги синів Юдиних з їх родинами.
12And as for the west border, the Great Sea was the border thereof. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
13Калебові ж Ефуненкові дав земляний надїл між синами Юди, як заповідав Господь Йозейові: Арбів город, Енакового батька, се Геброн.
13And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak — the same is Hebron.
14І повиганяв Калеб ізвідтіля три сини Енакові, Сесая, Ахимана і Талмая, потомків Енакових.
14And Caleb drove out thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15Звідсї він двинув проти осадників Дабирських; Дабир же прозивавсь перше Киріять-Сефер.
15And he went up thence against the inhabitants of Debir — now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.
16І обіцяв Калеб: Хто підневолить Киріять-Сефер й опанує його, віддам за того дочку мою Ахсу.
16And Caleb said: 'He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.'
17І опанував його Готониїл, син Кеназа, брата Калебового, і віддав за нього дочку свою Ахсу.
17And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
18Як же вели її до його, навчено її бажати собі в батька її поля, і злїзла вона з осла, а Калеб спитав у її: Що тобі треба?
18And it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she persuaded him to ask of her father a field; and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her: 'What wouldest thou?'
19Вона ж відказала: Дай менї благословеннє; дав бо єси менї полуденню землю, дай же менї й криничані протоки. І дав їй Калеб криничані протоки верхові й криничані протоки низові.
19And she said: 'Give me a blessing; for that thou hast set me in the Southland, give me therefore springs of water.' And he gave her the Upper Springs and the Nether Springs.
20Се наслїдня держава поколїння синів Юдиних по родинах їх:
20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21Були ж міста на полуденньому краї поколїння Юдиного проти гряницї Ідумейської в полуденнїй країнї, ось які: Кавцеїл, Едер і Ягур,
21And the cities at the uttermost part of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur;
22Кина, Димона, Адада,
22and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah;
23Кедес, Асор та Ітнан,
23and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan;
24Зиф, Телем та Балот,
24Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth;
25Газор-Хадата та Кіріат, Гезрон, інакше Газор,
25and Hazor, and Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron — the same is Hazor;
26Амам, Шема і Молада,
26Amam, and Shema, and Moladah;
27Газар-Гадда, та Хешмон та Бет-Палет,
27and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet;
28Газар-Шуал, Беер-Себа і Визіотея, та й ті займища, що до них тягли,
28and Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah;
29Баала, Ім і Ацем,
29Baalah, and Iim, and Ezem;
30Елтолад, Кезил і Хорма,
30and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah;
31Циклаг, Мадмана, та Сансана,
31and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah;
32Леваот, Шелихим, Аин і Риммон: усїх двайцять і девять міст із селами їх.
32and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon; all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages.
33На поділлї: Ештаол, Зора і Ашна,
33In the Lowland: Eshtaol, and Zorah, and Ashnah;
34Заноах, Ен-Ганним, Таппуах, та Гаенам,
34and Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam;
35Ярмут, Одоллам, та Сохо і Азека,
35Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah;
36Шаараім Адитаім Гедера або Гедеротаім — чотирнайцять міст із їх селами,
36and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, with Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.
37Зенан, Хадаша, та Мигдал-Гад,
37Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad;
38Дилеян, Мицфе та Йоктеіл,
38and Dilan, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel;
39Лахис, Воцкат і Еглон,
39Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon;
40Хаббон, Лахмас і Хитлис.
40and Cabbon, and Lahmas, and Chithlish;
41Гедерот, Бет-Дагон, Наема, та Македа — шіснайцять міст з їх селами.
41and Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.
42Либна, Етер і Ашан,
42Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan;
43Іфтах, Ашна, Незиб,
43and Iphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib;
44Кеіла Ахсиб та Мареша — девять городів з їх селами.
44and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.
45Екрон з його містами й селами,
45Ekron, with its towns and its villages;
46І від Екрону та й до моря все, що коло Азота, з селами їх.
46from Ekron even unto the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.
47Азот, належні до нього міста й села його, Газа з її містами й селами, до річки Египецької. Західню ж гряницю значить скрізь велике море.
47Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; unto the Brook of Egypt, the Great Sea being the border thereof.
48По горах же: Самир, Яттир і Сохо,
48And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh;
49Данна, Киріат-Санна, се Дабир,
49and Dannah, and Kiriath-sannah — the same is Debir;
50Анат, Ештемо й Аним,
50and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim;
51Гозен, Холон та Гило — одинайцять городів з їх селами.
51and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.
52Араб, Дума, Ешан,
52Arab, and Rumah, and Eshan;
53Янум, Бет-Таппуах і Афека,
53and Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah;
54Хумта, Киріат-Арба, се Геброн, та Цихор — девять міст із їх селами,
54and Humtah, and Kiriath-arba — the same is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages.
55Маон, Кармил, Сиф і Юта,
55Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah;
56Ізреель, Йокдам і Саноах,
56and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah;
57Каин, Гива та Тимна — десять городів з їх селами,
57Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages.
58Халхул, Бет-Зур і Гедор,
58Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor;
59Маарат, Бет-Анот та Елтекон — шість городів з їх селами.
59and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.
60Киріат-Баал, се Киріат-Ярим, та Аравва — два міста з їх селами.
60Kiriath-baal — the same is Kiriath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.
61У степу: Бет-Арава, Миддин, Секаха,
61In the wilderness: Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah;
62Нибсан та Солоний город та Енгеди — шість хородів з їх селами.
62and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.
63Та Евузіїв, осадників Ерусалимських, не змогли повиганяти сини Юдині, от і живуть Евузії з синами Юди в Ерусалимі по сей день.
63And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwelt with the children of Judah at Jerusalem, unto this day.
