1“ลองร้องเรียกสิ จะมีใครตอบคุณไหม? คุณจะหันไปหาผู้บริสุทธิ์องค์ไหน?
1Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints.
2ความขุ่นแค้นฆ่าคนโง่ ความริษยาฆ่าคนเบาปัญญา
2Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one.
3ผมเคยเห็นคนโง่หยั่งราก แต่จู่ๆ ผมก็สาปแช่งที่อยู่ของเขา
3I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately.
4ลูกๆ ของเขาห่างไกลจากความปลอดภัย พวกเขาถูกบดขยี้ที่ประตูเมือง ไม่มีใครช่วยให้รอด
4His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them.
5คนหิวกินผลเก็บเกี่ยวของเขาจนหมด แย่งเอาแม้แต่ที่อยู่ในดงหนาม บ่วงอ้ากว้างรอทรัพย์สินของเขา
5Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches.
6ความทุกข์ไม่ได้งอกมาจากฝุ่น ความเดือดร้อนไม่ได้ผุดขึ้นจากดิน
6Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground.
7แต่มนุษย์เกิดมาพบความเดือดร้อน เหมือนประกายไฟที่ลอยขึ้นสูง
7Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.
8“ถ้าเป็นผม ผมจะหาพระเจ้า จะมอบเรื่องของผมให้พระองค์
8Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God:
9ผู้ทำสิ่งยิ่งใหญ่ที่หยั่งไม่ถึง สิ่งอัศจรรย์เหลือคณานับ
9Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:
10ผู้ให้ฝนแก่แผ่นดิน ส่งน้ำลงสู่ท้องทุ่ง
10Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters:
11พระองค์จึงยกผู้ต่ำต้อยขึ้นสูง ยกคนโศกเศร้าขึ้นให้อยู่ปลอดภัย
11Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn.
12พระองค์ทำให้แผนของคนเจ้าเล่ห์ล้มเหลว จนมือของพวกเขาทำงานที่วางไว้ไม่สำเร็จ
12Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun:
13พระองค์จับคนมีปัญญาด้วยเล่ห์ของเขาเอง แผนของคนคดโกงพังลงอย่างรวดเร็ว
13Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:
14พวกเขาพบความมืดในเวลากลางวัน คลำทางตอนเที่ยงเหมือนอยู่ในยามค่ำคืน
14They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.
15แต่พระองค์ช่วยให้พ้นดาบที่ออกจากปากพวกเขา ช่วยคนขัดสนให้พ้นมือผู้มีอำนาจ
15But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.
16คนยากจนจึงมีความหวัง และความอยุติธรรมต้องปิดปาก
16And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.
17“ดูสิ คนที่พระเจ้าตักเตือนนั้นเป็นสุข อย่าดูหมิ่นการตีสอนของพระผู้ทรงฤทธิ์
17Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord:
18พระองค์ทำให้เป็นแผล แล้วพันแผลให้ พระองค์ทำให้บาดเจ็บ แล้วมือของพระองค์ก็รักษาให้หาย
18For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal.
19พระองค์จะช่วยคุณให้พ้นทุกข์หกครั้ง แม้ครั้งที่เจ็ด เหตุร้ายก็จะแตะต้องคุณไม่ได้
19In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee.
20ในยามอดอยาก พระองค์จะไถ่คุณจากความตาย ในยามสงคราม จะช่วยให้พ้นอำนาจดาบ
20In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword.
21คุณจะมีที่กำบังจากลิ้นที่ฟาดเหมือนแส้ ไม่ต้องกลัวภัยพินาศเมื่อมันมา
21Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.
22คุณจะหัวเราะเยาะภัยพินาศและความอดอยาก ไม่ต้องกลัวสัตว์บนแผ่นดิน
22In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23เพราะคุณจะผูกไมตรีกับก้อนหินในทุ่ง สัตว์ในทุ่งจะอยู่กับคุณอย่างสงบ
23But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee.
24คุณจะรู้ว่าเต็นท์ของคุณปลอดภัย เมื่อตรวจคอกสัตว์ ก็จะไม่มีอะไรขาดหาย
24And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.
25คุณจะรู้ด้วยว่าลูกหลานจะมีมาก มากเหมือนหญ้าบนแผ่นดิน
25Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth.
26คุณจะลงสู่หลุมศพเมื่ออายุยืนยาวเต็มที่ เหมือนฟ่อนข้าวที่เก็บในฤดูของมัน
26Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.
27ดูสิ พวกเราค้นคว้าแล้ว เป็นเช่นนี้จริง ฟังและรับรู้ไว้เพื่อประโยชน์ของคุณ”
27Behold, this is even so, as we have searched out: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.
