1Vậy, hãy kêu la! Có ai đáp lời ông chăng? Oâng sẽ trở lại cùng đấng nào trong các thánh?
1Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints.
2Vì nổi sầu thảm giết người ngu muội, Sự đố kỵ làm chết kẻ đơn sơ.
2Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one.
3Tôi có thấy kẻ ngu muội châm rễ ra; Nhưng thình lình tôi rủa sả chỗ ở của hắn.
3I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately.
4Con cái hắn không được an nhiên, Bị chà nát tại cửa thành, chẳng có ai giải cứu;
4His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them.
5Người đói khát ăn mùa màng hắn, Đến đỗi đoạt lấy ở giữa bụi gai, Và bẫy gài rình của cải hắn.
5Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches.
6Vì sự hoạn nạn chẳng phải từ bụi cát sanh ra, Sự khốn khó chẳng do đất nảy lên;
6Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground.
7Nhưng loài người sanh ra để bị khốn khó, Như lằn lửa bay chớp lên không.
7Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.
8Song tôi, tôi sẽ tìm cầu Đức Chúa Trời, Mà phó duyên cớ tôi cho Ngài;
8Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God:
9Ngài làm công việc lớn lao, không sao dò xét được, Làm những sự diệu kỳ, không thể đếm cho đặng;
9Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:
10Ngài ban mưa xuống mặt đất, Cho nước tràn đồng ruộng,
10Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters:
11Nhắc lên cao những kẻ bị hạ xuống, Và cứu đỡ những người buồn thảm cho được phước hạnh.
11Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn.
12Ngài làm bại mưu kế của người quỉ quyệt, Khiến tay chúng nó chẳng làm xong được việc toan định của họ.
12Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun:
13Ngài bắt kẻ khôn ngoan trong chước móc họ, Mưu kế của kẻ quỉ quái bèn bị bại.
13Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:
14Ban ngày chúng nó gặp tối tăm, Đang lúc trưa chúng rờ đi như trong đêm tối.
14They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.
15Đức Chúa Trời cứu kẻ nghèo khỏi gươm của miệng chúng nó, Và khỏi tay kẻ cường bạo.
15But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.
16Vậy, kẻ nghèo khốn có sự trông cậy, Còn kẻ gian ác ngậm miệng lại.
16And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.
17Người mà Đức Chúa Trời quở trách lấy làm phước thay! Vậy, chớ khinh sự sửa phạt của Đấng Toàn năng.
17Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord:
18Vì Ngài làm cho bị thương tích, rồi lại bó rịt cho; Ngài đánh hại, rồi tay Ngài chữa lành cho.
18For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal.
19Trong sáu cơn hoạn nạn, Ngài sẽ giải cứu cho, Qua cơn thứ bảy, tai hại cũng sẽ không đụng đến mình.
19In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee.
20Trong cơn đói kém, Ngài sẽ giải cứu cho khỏi chết, Và đang lúc giặc giã, cứu khỏi lưỡi gươm.
20In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword.
21Oâng sẽ được ẩn núp khỏi tai hại của lưỡi; Cũng sẽ chẳng sợ chi khi tai vạ xảy đến.
21Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.
22Oâng sẽ cười thầm khi thấy sự phá hoang và sự đói kém, Cũng chẳng sợ các thú vật của đất;
22In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23Vì ông lập giao ước với đá đồng ruộng; Và các thú rừng sẽ hòa thuận với ông.
23But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee.
24Oâng sẽ thấy trại mình được hòa bình; Đi viếng các bầy mình, sẽ chẳng thấy chi thiếu mất.
24And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.
25Cũng sẽ thấy dòng dõi mình nhiều, Và con cháu mình đông như cỏ trên đất.
25Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth.
26Oâng sẽ được tuổi cao khi vào trong phần mộ, Như một bó lúa mà người ta gặt phải thì.
26Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.
27Nầy, chúng tôi có xem xét điều đó, nó vốn là vậy; Hãy nghe, hãy biết để làm ích cho mình.
27Behold, this is even so, as we have searched out: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.
