1Binh-đát, người Su-a, bèn đáp lời, mà rằng:
1The Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:
2Oâng sẽ nói các điều ấy đến bao giờ, Và lời của miệng ông sẽ giống như gió bão đến chừng nào?
2How long wilt thou speak these things, and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3Đức Chúa Trời há thiên đoán ư? Đấng toàn năng há trái phép công bình sao?
3Doth God pervert judgment, or doth the Almighty overthrow that which is just?
4Nếu con cái ông có phạm tội cùng Ngài, Thì Ngài đã phó chúng nó vào quyền tội ác của chúng nó.
4Although thy children have sinned against him, and he hath left them in the hand of their iniquity:
5Nếu ông cẩn thận tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời, Cầu khẩn cùng Đấng toàn năng,
5Yet if thou wilt arise early to God, and wilt beseech the Almighty:
6Nếu ông thanh sạch và ngay thẳng, Quả thật bây giờ Ngài sẽ tỉnh thức vì ông, Và làm cho nhà công bình ông được hưng thạnh.
6If thou wilt walk clean and upright, he will presently awake onto thee, and will make the dwelling of thy justice peaceable:
7Dẫu ban sơ ông vốn nhỏ mọn, Thì sau rốt sẽ nên trọng đại.
7Insomuch, that if thy former things were small, thy latter things would be multiplied exceedingly.
8Xin hãy hỏi dòng dõi đời xưa, Khá chăm chỉ theo sự tìm tòi của các tổ tiên.
8For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers:
9(Vì chúng ta mới có hôm qua, và chẳng biết gì; Bởi các ngày chúng ta trên đất khác nào một cái bóng);
9(For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant that our days upon earth are but a shadow:)
10Chớ thì chúng sẽ chẳng dạy ông, nói chuyện với ông, Và do nơi lòng mình mà đem ra những lời lẽ sao?
10And they shall teach thee: they shall speak to thee, and utter words out of their hearts.
11Sậy há mọc nơi chẳng bưng bàu ư? Lác há mọc lên không có nước sao?
11Can the rush be green without moisture? or a sedge-bush grow without water?
12Khi còn xanh tươi chưa phải phát, Thì đã khô trước các thứ cỏ khác.
12When it is yet in flower, and is not plucked up with the hand, it withereth before all herbs.
13Đường lối kẻ quên Đức Chúa Trời là như vậy: Sự trông cậy kẻ không kính sợ Đức Chúa Trời sẽ hư mất;
13Even so are the ways of all that forget God, and the hope of the hypocrite shall perish:
14Nơi người nương nhờ sẽ bị truất, Điều người tin cậy giống như váng nhện.
14His folly shall not please him, and his trust shall be like the spider’s web.
15Người ấy nương dựa vào nhà mình, song nhà không vững chắc; Người níu lấy nó, nhưng nó chẳng đứng chịu nổi.
15He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand: he shall prop it up, and it shall not rise:
16Trước mặt trời, nó xanh tươi. Nhành lá che phủ vườn nó.
16He seemeth to have moisture before the sun cometh, and at his rising his blossom shall shoot forth.
17Rễ nó quấn trên đống đá, Nó mọc xỉa ra giữa đá sỏi;
17His roots shall be thick upon a heap of stones, and among the stones he shall abide.
18Nếu nó bị nhổ khỏi chỗ nó, Thì chỗ ấy bèn từ chối nó, mà rằng: Ta chẳng hề thấy ngươi!
18If one swallow him up out of his place, he shall deny him, and shall say: I know thee not.
19Kìa, ấy là sự vui sướng về đường lối nó; Sẽ có loài khác từ đất nảy ra.
19For this is the joy of his way, that others may spring again out of the earth.
20Kìa, Đức Chúa Trời chẳng từ bỏ người trọn vẹn, Cũng không giúp đỡ kẻ hung ác.
20God will not cast away the simple, nor reach out his hand to the evildoer:
21Song Chúa sẽ còn làm cho miệng ông được đầy vui cười; Và môi ông tràn ra tiếng reo mừng.
21Until thy mouth be filled with laughter, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22Những kẻ ghét ông sẽ bị hổ thẹn bao phủ, Và nhà trại của kẻ ác sẽ chẳng còn.
22They that hate thee, shall be clothed with confusion: and the dwelling of the wicked shall not stand.
