1เปาโล สิลวานัส และทิโมธี ถึงประชาคมของชาวเธสะโลนิกาที่อยู่ในพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเรา และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์:
1Paul, and Sylvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2ขอให้พวกคุณได้รับพระคุณและสันติสุขจากพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเรา และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์
2Grace unto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3พี่น้อง เราจำเป็นต้องขอบคุณพระเจ้าสำหรับพวกคุณเสมอ ซึ่งก็สมควรแล้ว เพราะความเชื่อของพวกคุณเติบโตขึ้นอย่างมาก และความรักที่พวกคุณแต่ละคนมีต่อกันก็เพิ่มพูนขึ้น
3We are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you towards each other, aboundeth:
4จนเราเองอวดเรื่องพวกคุณในประชาคมต่าง ๆ ของพระเจ้า เรื่องความอดทนและความเชื่อของพวกคุณ ท่ามกลางการข่มเหงและความทุกข์ยากทั้งปวงที่พวกคุณกำลังทนอยู่
4So that we ourselves also glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith, and in all your persecutions and tribulations, which you endure,
5สิ่งนี้เป็นหลักฐานชัดเจนถึงการพิพากษาอันชอบธรรมของพระเจ้า เพื่อให้ถือว่าพวกคุณคู่ควรกับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า ซึ่งพวกคุณก็กำลังทนทุกข์เพื่ออาณาจักรนั้นด้วย
5For an example of the just judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer.
6ในสายตาพระเจ้า การตอบแทนความทุกข์ยากแก่ผู้ที่ทำให้พวกคุณทุกข์ยากนั้นเป็นสิ่งที่ชอบธรรม
6Seeing it is a just thing with God to repay tribulation to them that trouble you:
7และพระองค์จะให้พวกคุณผู้ที่กำลังทุกข์ยากได้พักจากความทุกข์พร้อมกับเรา เมื่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูปรากฏจากสวรรค์ พร้อมเหล่าทูตสวรรค์ผู้มีฤทธิ์อำนาจของพระองค์ ท่ามกลางเปลวไฟ
7And to you who are troubled, rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven, with the angels of his power:
8พระองค์จะลงโทษผู้ที่ไม่รู้จักพระเจ้า และผู้ที่ไม่เชื่อฟังข่าวดีขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูของเรา
8In a flame of fire, giving vengeance to them who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9คนเหล่านี้จะรับโทษ คือความพินาศนิรันดร์ ห่างจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และจากพระสิริแห่งพลังของพระองค์
9Who shall suffer eternal punishment in destruction, from the face of the Lord, and from the glory of his power:
10ในวันนั้น เมื่อพระองค์มา พระองค์จะได้รับพระสิริในผู้บริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ และพระองค์จะเป็นที่พิศวงในหมู่ทุกคนที่เชื่อ เพราะพวกคุณเชื่อคำพยานที่เราให้ไว้แก่พวกคุณ
10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be made wonderful in all them who have believed; because our testimony was believed upon you in that day.
11ด้วยเหตุนี้ เราจึงอธิษฐานเพื่อพวกคุณเสมอ ขอพระเจ้าของเราถือว่าพวกคุณคู่ควรกับการเรียกของพระองค์ และด้วยพลังของพระองค์ ขอให้พระองค์ทำให้ความปรารถนาทุกอย่างที่จะทำความดี และงานที่เกิดจากความเชื่อของพวกคุณสำเร็จ
11Wherefore also we pray always for you; that our God would make you worthy of his vocation, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith in power;
12เพื่อพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูของเรา จะได้รับพระสิริในพวกคุณ และพวกคุณจะได้รับพระสิริในพระองค์ ตามพระคุณของพระเจ้าของเรา และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์
12That the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
