Clementine Vulgate, 1598
1O LORD, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.
1Laus cantici ipsi David. [Venite, exsultemus Domino; jubilemus Deo salutari nostro;
2Lift up Thyself, Thou Judge of the earth; render to the proud their recompense.
2præoccupemus faciem ejus in confessione, et in psalmis jubilemus ei:
3LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?
3quoniam Deus magnus Dominus, et rex magnus super omnes deos.
4They gush out, they speak arrogancy; all the workers of iniquity bear themselves loftily.
4Quia in manu ejus sunt omnes fines terræ, et altitudines montium ipsius sunt;
5They crush Thy people, O LORD, and afflict Thy heritage.
5quoniam ipsius est mare, et ipse fecit illud, et siccam manus ejus formaverunt.
6They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
6Venite, adoremus, et procidamus, et ploremus ante Dominum qui fecit nos:
7And they say: 'The LORD will not see, neither will the God of Jacob give heed.'
7quia ipse est Dominus Deus noster, et nos populus pascuæ ejus, et oves manus ejus.
8Consider, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye understand?
8Hodie si vocem ejus audieritis, nolite obdurare corda vestra
9He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?
9sicut in irritatione, secundum diem tentationis in deserto, ubi tentaverunt me patres vestri: probaverunt me, et viderunt opera mea.
10He that instructeth nations, shall not He correct? even He that teacheth man knowledge?
10Quadraginta annis offensus fui generationi illi, et dixi: Semper hi errant corde.
11The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
11Et isti non cognoverunt vias meas: ut juravi in ira mea: Si introibunt in requiem meam.]
12Happy is the man whom Thou instructest, O LORD, and teachest out of Thy law;
