Psalms 94
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
Kralice Bible (1613)
1O LORD, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.
1Bože silný pomst, Hospodine, Bože silný pomst, zastkvěj se.
2Lift up Thyself, Thou Judge of the earth; render to the proud their recompense.
2Zdvihni se, ó soudce vší země, a dej odplatu pyšným.
3LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?
3Až dokud bezbožní, Hospodine, až dokud bezbožní budou plésati,
4They gush out, they speak arrogancy; all the workers of iniquity bear themselves loftily.
4Žváti a hrdě mluviti, honosíce se, všickni činitelé nepravosti?
5They crush Thy people, O LORD, and afflict Thy heritage.
5Lid tvůj, Hospodine, potírati a dědictví tvé bědovati?
6They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
6Vdovy a příchozí mordovati, a sirotky hubiti,
7And they say: 'The LORD will not see, neither will the God of Jacob give heed.'
7Říkajíce: Nehledíť na to Hospodin, aniž tomu rozumí Bůh Jákobův?
8Consider, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye understand?
8Rozumějte, ó vy hovadní v lidu, a vy blázni, kdy srozumíte?
9He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?
9Zdali ten, jenž učinil ucho, neslyší? A kterýž stvořil oko, zdali nespatří?
10He that instructeth nations, shall not He correct? even He that teacheth man knowledge?
10Zdali ten, jenž tresce národy, nebude kárati, kterýž učí lidi umění?
11The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
11Hospodinť zná myšlení lidská, že jsou pouhá marnost.
12Happy is the man whom Thou instructest, O LORD, and teachest out of Thy law;
12Blahoslavený jest ten muž, kteréhož ty cvičíš, Hospodine, a z zákona svého jej vyučuješ.
13That Thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
13Abys mu způsobil pokoj před časy zlými, až by za tím vykopána byla bezbožníku jáma.
14For the LORD will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance.
14Neboť neopustí Hospodin lidu svého, a dědictví svého nezanechá,
15For right shall return unto justice, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had soon dwelt in silence.
18If I say: 'My foot slippeth', Thy mercy, O LORD, holdeth me up.
19When my cares are many within me, Thy comforts delight my soul.
19Ve množství přemyšlování mých u vnitřnosti mé, tvá potěšování obveselovala duši mou.
20Shall the seat of wickedness have fellowship with Thee, which frameth mischief by statute?
20Zdaliž se k tobě přitovaryší stolice převráceností těch, jenž vynášejí nátisk mimo spravedlnost,
21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
21Jenž se shlukují proti duši spravedlivého, a krev nevinnou odsuzují?
22But the LORD hath been my high tower, and my God the rock of my refuge.
22Ale Hospodin jest mým hradem vysokým, a Bůh můj skalou útočiště mého.
23And He hath brought upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil; the LORD our God will cut them off.
