1(89-1) Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. (89-2) I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; to all generations will I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth.

2(89-3) For I have said: 'For ever is mercy built; in the very heavens Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness.
2O milosrdenstvích Hospodinových na věky zpívati budu, od národu do pronárodu zvěstovati budu pravdu tvou ústy svými.
3(89-4) I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn unto David My servant:
3Nebo jsem řekl: Na věky milosrdenství vzdělávati se bude, na nebi utvrdíš pravdu svou, o nížs řekl:
4(89-5) For ever will I establish thy seed, and build up thy throne to all generations.' Selah
4Učinil jsem smlouvu s vyvoleným svým, přisáhl jsem Davidovi služebníku svému,
5(89-6) So shall the heavens praise Thy wonders, O LORD, Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
5Že až na věky utvrdím símě tvé, a vzdělám od národu do národu trůn tvůj. Sélah.
6(89-7) For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD, who among the sons of might can be likened unto the LORD,
6Protož oslavují nebesa div tvůj, Hospodine, i pravdu tvou v shromáždění svatých.
7(89-8) A God dreaded in the great council of the holy ones, and feared of all them that are about Him?
7Nebo kdo na nebi přirovnán býti může Hospodinu? Kdo jest podobný Hospodinu mezi syny silných?
8(89-9) O LORD God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like unto Thee, O LORD? And Thy faithfulness is round about Thee.
8Bůh i v shromáždění svatých strašlivý jest náramně, a hrozný nade všecky vůkol něho.
9(89-10) Thou rulest the proud swelling of the sea; when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.
9Hospodine Bože zástupů, kdo jest jako ty, silný Hospodin? Nebo pravda tvá tobě přístojí všudy vůkol.
10(89-11) Thou didst crush Rahab, as one that is slain; Thou didst scatter Thine enemies with the arm of Thy strength.
10Ty panuješ nad dutím moře; když se zdvihají vlny jeho, ty je skrocuješ.
11(89-12) Thine are the heavens, Thine also the earth; the world and the fulness thereof, Thou hast founded them.
11Ty jsi jako raněného potřel Egypt, a silným ramenem svým rozptýlil jsi nepřátely své.
12(89-13) The north and the south, Thou hast created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Thy name.
12Tváť jsou nebesa, tvá také i země, okršlek i plnost jeho ty jsi založil.
13(89-14) Thine is an arm with might; strong is Thy hand, and exalted is Thy right hand.
13Půlnoční i polední strana, kteréž jsi ty stvořil, i Tábor a Hermon o tvém jménu zpívají.
14(89-15) Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Thy throne; mercy and truth go before Thee.
14Tvé rámě jest přemocné, silná ruka tvá, a vyvýšená pravice tvá.
15(89-16) Happy is the people that know the joyful shout; they walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance.
15Spravedlnost a soud jsou základem trůnu tvého, milosrdenství a pravda předcházejí tvář tvou.
16(89-17) In Thy name do they rejoice all the day; and through Thy righteousness are they exalted.
16Blahoslavený lid, kterýž zná zvuk tvůj; tiť, Hospodine, v světle oblíčeje tvého choditi budou.
17(89-18) For Thou art the glory of their strength; and in Thy favour our horn is exalted.
17Ve jménu tvém plésati budou každého dne, a v spravedlnosti tvé vyvýší se.
18(89-19) For of the LORD is our shield; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
18Nebo sláva síly jejich ty jsi, a z milosti tvé k zvýšení přijde roh náš.
19(89-20) Then Thou spokest in vision to Thy godly ones, and saidst: 'I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
19Nebo štít náš jest Hospodinův, a svatého Izraelského král náš.
20(89-21) I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him;
20Tehdy mluvě u vidění k svatému svému, řekl jsi: Složil jsem pomoc v reku udatném, zvýšil jsem vybraného z lidu.
21(89-22) With whom My hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.
21Nalezl jsem Davida služebníka svého, olejem svým svatým pomazal jsem ho.
22(89-23) The enemy shall not exact from him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
22A protož budeť s ním stále ruka má, ano i ramenem svým posilovati ho budu.
23(89-24) And I will beat to pieces his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him.
23Nebudeť ho moci nuziti nepřítel, ani člověk nešlechetný trápiti.
24(89-25) But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and through My name shall his horn be exalted.
24Nebo potru před tváří jeho protivníky jeho, a ty, kteříž ho nenávidí, porazím.
25(89-26) I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
25Nadto pravda má a milosrdenství mé s ním bude, a ve jménu mém vyvýšen bude roh jeho.
26(89-27) He shall call unto Me: Thou art my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
26A vložím na moře ruku jeho, a na řeky pravici jeho.
27(89-28) I also will appoint him first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth.
27On volaje ke mně, dí: Ty jsi otec můj, Bůh silný můj a skála spasení mého.
28(89-29) For ever will I keep for him My mercy, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.
28Já také za prvorozeného vystavím jej, a za vyššího králů zemských.
29(89-30) His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
29Na věky zachovám jemu milosrdenství své, a smlouva s ním stálá bude.
30(89-31) If his children forsake My law, and walk not in Mine ordinances;
30Učiním i to, aby na věky trvalo símě jeho, a trůn jeho jako dnové nebes.
31(89-32) If they profane My statutes, and keep not My commandments;
31Jestliže by pak synové jeho opustili zákon můj, a v soudech mých nechodili,
32(89-33) Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.
32Jestliže by ustanovení mých poškvrnili, a přikázaní mých neostříhali:
33(89-34) But My mercy will I not break off from him, nor will I be false to My faithfulness.
33Tedy navštívím metlou přestoupení jejich, a trestáním nepravost jejich,
34(89-35) My covenant will I not profane, nor alter that which is gone out of My lips.
34Ale milosrdenství svého neodejmu od něho, aniž klamati budu proti pravdě své.
35(89-36) Once have I sworn by My holiness: Surely I will not be false unto David;
35Nepoškvrnímť smlouvy své, a toho, což vyšlo z úst mých, nezměním.
36(89-37) His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before Me.
36Jednou jsem přisáhl skrze svatost svou, nesklamámť Davidovi,
37(89-38) It shall be established for ever as the moon; and be stedfast as the witness in sky.' Selah
37Že símě jeho na věky bude, a trůn jeho jako slunce přede mnou,
38(89-39) But Thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with Thine anointed.
38Jako měsíc utvrzeno bude na věky, a jako svědkové na obloze hodnověrní.
39(89-40) Thou hast abhorred the covenant of Thy servant; Thou hast profaned his crown even to the ground.
39Ale ty jsi jej zavrhl a potupil, rozhněvals se na pomazaného svého.
40(89-41) Thou hast broken down all his fences; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
40Zavrhl jsi smlouvu s služebníkem svým, povrhls korunu jeho na zem.
41(89-42) All that pass by the way spoil him; he is become a taunt to his neighbours.
41Roztrhal jsi všecky ohrady jeho, a bašty jeho jsi rozválel.
42(89-43) Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
42Derou jej všickni, kteříž tudy jdou; jest ku posměchu i sousedům svým.
43(89-44) Yea, Thou turnest back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
43Vyvýšil jsi pravici protivníků jeho, obveselils všecky nepřátely jeho.
44(89-45) Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
44Ztupils i ostří meče jeho, aniž jsi dal jemu, aby ostáti mohl v boji.
45(89-46) The days of his youth hast Thou shortened; Thou hast covered him with shame. Selah
45Učinils přítrž okrase jeho, a trůn jeho svrhl jsi na zem.
46(89-47) How long, O LORD, wilt Thou hide Thyself for ever? How long shall Thy wrath burn like fire?
46Ukrátil jsi dnů mladosti jeho, a hanbous jej přiodíl. Sélah.
47(89-48) O remember how short my time is; for what vanity hast Thou created all the children of men!
47Až dokud, Hospodine? Na věky-liž se skrývati budeš? Tak-liž hořeti bude jako oheň prchlivost tvá?
48(89-49) What man is he that liveth and shall not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of the grave? Selah
48Rozpomeniž se na mne, jak kratičký jest věk můj. Zdaliž jsi pak nadarmo stvořil všecky syny lidské?
49(89-50) Where are Thy former mercies, O Lord, which Thou didst swear unto David in Thy faithfulness?
49Kdo z lidí může tak živ býti, aby neokusil smrti? Kdo vytrhne život svůj z hrobu? Sélah.
50(89-51) Remember, Lord, the taunt of Thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the taunt of so many peoples;
50Kdež jsou milosrdenství tvá první, ó Pane? Přísahuť jsi učinil Davidovi, v pravdě své.
51(89-52) Wherewith Thine enemies have taunted, O LORD, wherewith they have taunted the footsteps of Thine anointed.
51Pamatuj, Pane, na útržky činěné služebníkům tvým, a jak jsem já nosil v lůně svém potupu ode všech nejmocnějších národů,
52(89-53) Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
52Jak jsou utrhali nepřátelé tvoji, Hospodine, jak jsou utrhali šlepějím pomazaného tvého.
