Psalms 126

Clementine Vulgate, 1598
1A Song of Ascents. When the LORD brought back those that returned to Zion, we were like unto them that dream.
1Canticum graduum Salomonis. [Nisi Dominus ædificaverit domum, in vanum laboraverunt qui ædificant eam. Nisi Dominus custodierit civitatem, frustra vigilat qui custodit eam.
2Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then said they among the nations: 'The LORD hath done great things with these.'
2Vanum est vobis ante lucem surgere: surgite postquam sederitis, qui manducatis panem doloris. Cum dederit dilectis suis somnum,
3The LORD hath done great things with us; we are rejoiced.
3ecce hæreditas Domini, filii; merces, fructus ventris.
4Turn our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the dry land.
4Sicut sagittæ in manu potentis, ita filii excussorum.
5They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
5Beatus vir qui implevit desiderium suum ex ipsis: non confundetur cum loquetur inimicis suis in porta.]
6Though he goeth on his way weeping that beareth the measure of seed, he shall come home with joy, bearing his sheaves.
