Psalms 111
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
Clementine Vulgate, 1598
1Hallelujah. I will give thanks unto the LORD with my whole heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation.
1Alleluja, reversionis Aggæi et Zachariæ. [Beatus vir qui timet Dominum: in mandatis ejus volet nimis.
2The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have delight therein.
2Potens in terra erit semen ejus; generatio rectorum benedicetur.
3His work is glory and majesty; and His righteousness endureth for ever.
3Gloria et divitiæ in domo ejus, et justitia ejus manet in sæculum sæculi.
4He hath made a memorial for His wonderful works; the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
4Exortum est in tenebris lumen rectis: misericors, et miserator, et justus.
5He hath given food unto them that fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.
5Jucundus homo qui miseretur et commodat; disponet sermones suos in judicio:
6He hath declared to His people the power of His works, in giving them the heritage of the nations.
6quia in æternum non commovebitur.
7The works of His hands are truth and justice; all His precepts are sure.
7In memoria æterna erit justus; ab auditione mala non timebit. Paratum cor ejus sperare in Domino,
8They are established for ever and ever, they are done in truth and uprightness.
8confirmatum est cor ejus; non commovebitur donec despiciat inimicos suos.
9He hath sent redemption unto His people; He hath commanded His covenant for ever; Holy and awful is His name.
9Dispersit, dedit pauperibus; justitia ejus manet in sæculum sæculi: cornu ejus exaltabitur in gloria.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do thereafter; His praise endureth for ever.
10Peccator videbit, et irascetur; dentibus suis fremet et tabescet: desiderium peccatorum peribit.]
