1And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
1ในปีที่เจ็ด เดือนที่ห้า วันที่สิบของเดือน ผู้อาวุโสของอิสราเอลบางคนมาขอถามพระยาห์เวห์ และนั่งลงตรงหน้าข้าพเจ้า
2And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2พระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
3'Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Are ye come to inquire of Me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be inquired of by you.
3“มนุษย์เอ๋ย จงพูดกับพวกผู้อาวุโสของอิสราเอลว่า ‘พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ พวกเจ้ามาเพื่อถามเราหรือ? เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะไม่ยอมให้พวกเจ้าถามเรา’ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้
4Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;
4“มนุษย์เอ๋ย เจ้าจะพิพากษาพวกเขาไหม? เจ้าจะพิพากษาพวกเขาไหม? จงทำให้พวกเขารู้ถึงสิ่งน่ารังเกียจของบรรพบุรุษ
5and say unto them: Thus saith the Lord GOD: In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up My hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up My hand unto them, saying: I am the LORD your God;
5จงบอกพวกเขาว่า ‘พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ ในวันที่เราเลือกอิสราเอล เราได้ปฏิญาณต่อเชื้อสายของชนชาติยาโคบ และสำแดงตัวแก่พวกเขาในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เราปฏิญาณว่า “เราคือพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกเจ้า”
6in that day I lifted up My hand unto them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had sought out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the beauty of all lands;

7and I said unto them: Cast ye away every man the detestable things of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the LORD your God.

8But they rebelled against Me, and would not hearken unto Me; they did not every man cast away the detestable things of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt; then I said I would pour out My fury upon them, to spend My anger upon them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
8“‘“แต่พวกเขากบฏต่อเราและไม่ยอมฟัง พวกเขาไม่ได้ทิ้งสิ่งน่ารังเกียจที่ตาของตนหลงใหลกันทุกคน และไม่ละทิ้งรูปเคารพของอียิปต์ เราจึงคิดจะเทความเดือดดาลเหนือพวกเขา ระบายความโกรธให้หมดท่ามกลางแผ่นดินอียิปต์
9But I wrought for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among whom they were, in whose sight I made Myself known unto them, so as to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt.
9แต่เราได้กระทำเพื่อเห็นแก่พระนามของเรา เพื่อไม่ให้พระนามของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ต่อหน้าประชาชาติที่พวกเขาอาศัยอยู่ท่ามกลาง เพราะต่อหน้าประชาชาติเหล่านั้น เราได้สำแดงตัวแก่พวกเขาด้วยการนำพวกเขาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์
10So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

11And I gave them My statutes, and taught them Mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live by them.

12Moreover also I gave them My sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

13But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they walked not in My statutes, and they rejected Mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live by them, and My sabbaths they greatly profaned; then I said I would pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
13“‘“แต่ชนอิสราเอลกบฏต่อเราในถิ่นทุรกันดาร ไม่ดำเนินตามข้อกำหนดของเรา และปฏิเสธคำตัดสินของเรา ซึ่งถ้าคนใดทำตาม เขาจะมีชีวิตอยู่โดยสิ่งเหล่านั้น พวกเขาทำให้วันพักอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์อย่างยิ่ง เราจึงคิดจะเทความเดือดดาลเหนือพวกเขาในถิ่นทุรกันดารเพื่อทำลายพวกเขา
14But I wrought for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
14แต่เราได้กระทำเพื่อเห็นแก่พระนามของเรา เพื่อไม่ให้พระนามของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ต่อหน้าประชาชาติ ซึ่งเห็นเราเป็นผู้นำพวกเขาออกมา
15Yet also I lifted up My hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the beauty of all lands;

16because they rejected Mine ordinances, and walked not in My statutes, and profaned My sabbaths — for their heart went after their idols.

17Nevertheless Mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

18And I said unto their children in the wilderness: Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols;

19I am the LORD your God; walk in My statutes, and keep Mine ordinances, and do them;

20and hallow My sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
20จงรักษาวันพักอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเราให้บริสุทธิ์ วันเหล่านี้จะเป็นหมายสำคัญระหว่างเรากับพวกเจ้า เพื่อพวกเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกเจ้า”
21But the children rebelled against Me; they walked not in My statutes, neither kept Mine ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live by them; they profaned My sabbaths; then I said I would pour out My fury upon them, to spend My anger upon them in the wilderness.
21“‘“แต่ลูกหลานของพวกเขาก็กบฏต่อเรา ไม่ดำเนินตามข้อกำหนด และไม่รักษาคำตัดสินของเราเพื่อปฏิบัติตาม ซึ่งถ้าคนใดทำตาม เขาจะมีชีวิตอยู่โดยสิ่งเหล่านั้น พวกเขาทำให้วันพักอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เราจึงคิดจะเทความเดือดดาลเหนือพวกเขา ระบายความโกรธให้หมดในถิ่นทุรกันดาร
22Nevertheless I withdrew My hand, and wrought for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.
22ถึงกระนั้นเรายั้งมือไว้ และกระทำเพื่อเห็นแก่พระนามของเรา เพื่อไม่ให้พระนามของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ต่อหน้าประชาชาติ ซึ่งเห็นเราเป็นผู้นำพวกเขาออกมา
23I lifted up My hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;
23ในถิ่นทุรกันดารเรายังปฏิญาณว่าจะกระจายพวกเขาไปท่ามกลางประชาชาติ และทำให้กระจัดกระจายตามดินแดนต่าง ๆ
24because they had not executed Mine ordinances, but had rejected My statutes, and had profaned My sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
24เพราะพวกเขาไม่ทำตามคำตัดสินของเรา ปฏิเสธข้อกำหนดของเรา ทำให้วันพักอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และตาของพวกเขาตามรูปเคารพของบรรพบุรุษ
25Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and ordinances whereby they should not live;
25เรายังให้ข้อกำหนดที่ไม่ดีแก่พวกเขา และคำตัดสินที่ทำตามแล้วไม่อาจมีชีวิตอยู่ได้
26and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they set apart all that openeth the womb, that I might destroy them, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.
26เราปล่อยให้พวกเขาเป็นมลทินด้วยของถวายของตน เมื่อพวกเขาให้บุตรหัวปีทุกคนผ่านไฟ เพื่อเราจะทำให้พวกเขาพินาศร้างเปล่า และให้รู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์”’
27Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them: Thus saith the Lord GOD: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed Me, in that they dealt treacherously with Me.
27“เพราะฉะนั้น มนุษย์เอ๋ย จงพูดกับชนอิสราเอลว่า ‘พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ บรรพบุรุษของพวกเจ้ายังดูหมิ่นเราในเรื่องนี้ด้วย คือประพฤติไม่ซื่อสัตย์ต่อเรา
28For when I had brought them into the land, which I lifted up My hand to give unto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering, there also they made their sweet savour, and there they poured out their drink-offerings.
28เมื่อเรานำพวกเขาเข้าสู่แผ่นดินที่ปฏิญาณว่าจะให้ พวกเขาเห็นเนินเขาสูงทุกแห่งและต้นไม้ใบดกทุกต้น ก็ถวายเครื่องบูชาที่นั่น นำของถวายซึ่งยั่วยุเราไปวางที่นั่น ทำกลิ่นหอมที่นั่น และเทเครื่องดื่มบูชาที่นั่น
29Then I said unto them: What meaneth the high place whereunto ye go? So the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.
29เราจึงถามว่า “สถานบูชาบนที่สูงที่พวกเจ้าไปนั้นคืออะไร?” จึงเรียกที่นั้นว่า บามาห์ มาจนถึงทุกวันนี้’
30Wherefore say unto the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord GOD: When ye pollute yourselves after the manner of your fathers, and go after their abominations,
30“เพราะฉะนั้นจงบอกชนอิสราเอลว่า ‘พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ พวกเจ้าทำให้ตัวเองเป็นมลทินตามทางของบรรพบุรุษ และทำตัวเป็นโสเภณีตามสิ่งน่ารังเกียจของพวกเขาหรือ?
31and when, in offering your gifts, in making your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, unto this day; shall I then be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be inquired of by you;
31เมื่อพวกเจ้าถวายของและให้ลูกชายของตนผ่านไฟ พวกเจ้ายังทำให้ตัวเองเป็นมลทินด้วยรูปเคารพทั้งปวงจนถึงวันนี้ แล้วชนอิสราเอลเอ๋ย เราควรยอมให้พวกเจ้ามาถามเราหรือ? พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะไม่ยอมให้พวกเจ้าถามเรา
32and that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all; in that ye say: We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
32“‘“สิ่งที่ผุดขึ้นในใจพวกเจ้าจะไม่มีวันเกิดขึ้น พวกเจ้าพูดว่า ‘เราจะเป็นเหมือนประชาชาติอื่น เหมือนตระกูลต่าง ๆ ในดินแดนทั้งหลาย ที่รับใช้ไม้และหิน’
33As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, will I be king over you;
33พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราจะปกครองพวกเจ้าด้วยมืออันทรงพลัง ด้วยแขนที่เหยียดออก และด้วยความเดือดดาลที่เทลงมา
34and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out;
34เราจะนำพวกเจ้าออกจากชนชาติต่าง ๆ และรวบรวมจากดินแดนที่กระจัดกระจาย ด้วยมืออันทรงพลัง ด้วยแขนที่เหยียดออก และด้วยความเดือดดาลที่เทลงมา
35and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I plead with you face to face.
35เราจะนำพวกเจ้าเข้าสู่ถิ่นทุรกันดารของชนชาติต่าง ๆ แล้วจะพิพากษาพวกเจ้าต่อหน้ากันตรงนั้น
36Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
36เช่นเดียวกับที่เราพิพากษาบรรพบุรุษของพวกเจ้าในถิ่นทุรกันดารแห่งแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เราก็จะพิพากษาพวกเจ้า” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้
37And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;
37“เราจะให้พวกเจ้าผ่านใต้ไม้เท้า และจะนำพวกเจ้าเข้าสู่พันธะของพันธสัญญา
38and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against Me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
38เราจะคัดพวกกบฏและผู้ไม่เชื่อฟังเราออกจากท่ามกลางพวกเจ้า เราจะนำพวกเขาออกจากแผ่นดินที่อาศัยอยู่ แต่พวกเขาจะไม่ได้เข้าแผ่นดินอิสราเอล แล้วพวกเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์
39As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD: Go ye, serve every one his idols, even because ye will not hearken unto Me; but My holy name shall ye no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols.
39“‘ส่วนพวกเจ้า ชนอิสราเอลเอ๋ย พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ ไปเถอะ ทุกคนจงรับใช้รูปเคารพของตนต่อไป ถ้าหลังจากนี้พวกเจ้ายังไม่ยอมฟังเรา แต่ต่อไปพวกเจ้าจะไม่ทำให้พระนามอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเราเสื่อมความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ด้วยของถวายและรูปเคารพของพวกเจ้าอีก
40For in My holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve Me in the land; there will I accept them, and there will I require your heave-offerings, and the first of your gifts, with all your holy things.
40เพราะบนภูเขาศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเรา บนภูเขาสูงแห่งอิสราเอล” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส “ที่นั่นชนอิสราเอลทั้งหมด ทุกคนในแผ่นดิน จะรับใช้เรา ที่นั่นเราจะยอมรับพวกเขา และจะขอรับเครื่องถวาย ผลแรกของสิ่งถวาย และของศักดิ์สิทธิ์ทั้งปวงจากพวกเจ้า
41With your sweet savour will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.
41เราจะยอมรับพวกเจ้าเหมือนกลิ่นหอม เมื่อเรานำพวกเจ้าออกจากชนชาติต่าง ๆ และรวบรวมจากดินแดนที่กระจัดกระจาย เราจะแสดงความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเราผ่านพวกเจ้าต่อหน้าประชาชาติ
42And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I lifted up My hand to give unto your fathers.
42พวกเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์ เมื่อเรานำพวกเจ้าเข้าแผ่นดินอิสราเอล ซึ่งเป็นแผ่นดินที่เราปฏิญาณว่าจะให้แก่บรรพบุรุษของพวกเจ้า
43And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have polluted yourselves; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.
43ที่นั่นพวกเจ้าจะระลึกถึงทางของตนและการกระทำทั้งหมดที่ทำให้ตัวเองเป็นมลทิน แล้วจะรังเกียจตัวเองเพราะความชั่วทั้งปวงที่ได้ทำ
44And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for My name's sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.'
44ชนอิสราเอลเอ๋ย พวกเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์ เมื่อเราปฏิบัติต่อพวกเจ้าเพื่อเห็นแก่พระนามของเรา ไม่ใช่ตามทางชั่วหรือการกระทำอันเสื่อมทรามของพวกเจ้า” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้’”
45(21-1) And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
45พระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
46(21-2) 'Son of man, set thy face toward the South, and preach toward the South, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;
46“มนุษย์เอ๋ย จงหันหน้าไปทางใต้ กล่าวถ้อยคำไปทางใต้ และพยากรณ์กล่าวโทษป่าในแดนใต้
47(21-3) and say to the forest of the South: Hear the word of the LORD: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree, it shall not be quenched, even a flaming flame; and all faces from the south to the north shall be seared thereby.
47จงบอกป่าแห่งแดนใต้ว่า ‘จงฟังพระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ เราจะจุดไฟในเจ้า ไฟจะเผาต้นไม้เขียวทุกต้นและต้นไม้แห้งทุกต้น เปลวไฟที่ลุกโชนจะไม่ดับ และทุกใบหน้าตั้งแต่ใต้จรดเหนือจะถูกมันเผา
48(21-4) And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.'
48มนุษย์ทุกคนจะเห็นว่าเรา พระยาห์เวห์ เป็นผู้จุดไฟนั้น และมันจะไม่ดับ’”
49(21-5) Then said I: 'Ah Lord GOD! they say of me: Is he not a maker of parables?'
49ข้าพเจ้าจึงทูลว่า “โอ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์! พวกเขาพูดถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า ‘เขาเอาแต่พูดเรื่องเปรียบไม่ใช่หรือ?’”
