1Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
1ต่อมาผู้อาวุโสของอิสราเอลบางคนมาหาข้าพเจ้าและนั่งอยู่ตรงหน้า
2And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2พระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
3'Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their mind, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face; should I be inquired of at all by them?
3“มนุษย์เอ๋ย คนเหล่านี้ยกเอารูปเคารพไว้ในใจ และวางสิ่งที่ทำให้ตนสะดุดเข้าสู่ความผิดไว้ตรงหน้า แล้วเราควรยอมให้พวกเขามาถามเราหรือ?
4Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his mind, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet — I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
4เพราะฉะนั้นจงพูดกับพวกเขาว่า ‘พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ คนใดในชนอิสราเอลที่ยกเอารูปเคารพไว้ในใจ วางสิ่งที่ทำให้ตนสะดุดเข้าสู่ความผิดไว้ตรงหน้า แล้วมาหาผู้พยากรณ์ เรา พระยาห์เวห์ จะตอบเขาที่นั่นให้สมกับรูปเคารพมากมายของเขา
5that I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all turned away from Me through their idols.
5เพื่อเราจะจับใจของชนอิสราเอล เพราะรูปเคารพของพวกเขาทำให้ทุกคนเหินห่างจากเรา’
6Therefore say unto the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
6“เพราะฉะนั้นจงบอกชนอิสราเอลว่า ‘พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ จงกลับมา หันจากรูปเคารพของพวกเจ้า และหันหน้าหนีจากสิ่งน่ารังเกียจทั้งปวง
7For every one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that separateth himself from Me, and taketh his idols into his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet, that he inquire for him of Me — I the LORD will answer him by Myself,
7“‘เพราะคนใดในชนอิสราเอลหรือคนต่างด้าวที่อาศัยอยู่ในอิสราเอล ซึ่งแยกตัวออกจากเรา ยกเอารูปเคารพไว้ในใจ วางสิ่งที่ทำให้ตนสะดุดเข้าสู่ความผิดไว้ตรงหน้า แล้วมาหาผู้พยากรณ์เพื่อถามเราสำหรับตนเอง เรา พระยาห์เวห์ จะตอบเขาด้วยตัวเราเอง
8and I will set My face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
8เราจะหันหน้าต่อต้านคนนั้น ทำให้เขาเป็นสิ่งที่คนตกตะลึง เป็นหมายสำคัญและคำกล่าวขาน และจะตัดเขาออกจากประชาชนของเรา แล้วพวกเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์
9And when the prophet is enticed and speaketh a word, I the LORD have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of My people Israel.
9“‘ถ้าผู้พยากรณ์ถูกหลอกให้กล่าวถ้อยคำหนึ่ง เรา พระยาห์เวห์ เป็นผู้หลอกผู้พยากรณ์คนนั้น เราจะเหยียดมือออกต่อสู้เขา และทำลายเขาออกจากท่ามกลางประชาชนอิสราเอลของเรา
10And they shall bear their iniquity; the iniquity of the prophet shall be even as the iniquity of him that inquireth;
10ทั้งสองฝ่ายจะต้องรับความผิดของตน ความผิดของผู้พยากรณ์จะเท่ากับความผิดของผู้ที่มาถามเขา
11that the house of Israel may go no more astray from Me, neither defile themselves any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be My people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.'
11เพื่อชนอิสราเอลจะไม่หลงจากเราอีก และไม่ทำให้ตัวเองเป็นมลทินด้วยการล่วงละเมิดทั้งปวงอีก แต่จะเป็นประชาชนของเรา และเราจะเป็นพระเจ้าของพวกเขา’ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้”
12And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
12พระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
13'Son of man, when a land sinneth against Me by trespassing grievously, and I stretch out My hand upon it, and break the staff of the bread thereof, and send famine upon it, and cut off from it man and beast;
13“มนุษย์เอ๋ย เมื่อแผ่นดินหนึ่งทำบาปต่อเราโดยประพฤติไม่ซื่อสัตย์ แล้วเราเหยียดมือออกต่อสู้มัน ตัดเสบียงอาหาร ส่งความอดอยากมา และกำจัดทั้งคนและสัตว์ออกจากแผ่นดินนั้น
14though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
14ต่อให้โนอาห์ ดาเนียล และโยบ สามคนนี้อยู่ในแผ่นดิน พวกเขาก็ช่วยได้เพียงชีวิตของตนเองด้วยความชอบธรรมของตน” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้
15If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they bereave it, and it be desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the beasts;
15“ถ้าเราปล่อยสัตว์ร้ายผ่านแผ่นดิน ทำให้ผู้คนสูญเสียลูกหลานและแผ่นดินร้างเปล่า จนไม่มีใครกล้าผ่านเพราะสัตว์เหล่านั้น
16though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.
16ต่อให้สามคนนี้อยู่ในแผ่นดิน เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส “พวกเขาก็ช่วยลูกชายหรือลูกสาวไม่ได้ ช่วยได้เพียงตัวเอง ส่วนแผ่นดินจะร้างเปล่า
17Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say: Let the sword go through the land, so that I cut off from it man and beast;
17“หรือถ้าเรานำดาบมาเหนือแผ่นดินนั้นและสั่งว่า ‘ดาบเอ๋ย จงผ่านแผ่นดินไป’ เพื่อกำจัดทั้งคนและสัตว์
18though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.
18ต่อให้สามคนนี้อยู่ในแผ่นดิน เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส “พวกเขาก็ช่วยลูกชายหรือลูกสาวไม่ได้ ช่วยได้เพียงตัวเอง
19Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out My fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast;
19“หรือถ้าเราส่งโรคระบาดเข้าไปในแผ่นดิน และเทความเดือดดาลลงด้วยการนองเลือด เพื่อกำจัดทั้งคนและสัตว์
20though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
20ต่อให้โนอาห์ ดาเนียล และโยบอยู่ในแผ่นดิน เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส “พวกเขาก็ช่วยลูกชายหรือลูกสาวไม่ได้ ช่วยได้เพียงชีวิตของตนเองด้วยความชอบธรรมของตน”
21For thus saith the Lord GOD: How much more when I send My four sore judgments against Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast.
21เพราะพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ “ยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเพียงใด เมื่อเราส่งการพิพากษาร้ายแรงทั้งสี่อย่างมาเหนือเยรูซาเล็ม คือดาบ ความอดอยาก สัตว์ร้าย และโรคระบาด เพื่อกำจัดทั้งคนและสัตว์ออกจากเมือง
22And, behold, though there be left a remnant therein that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters; behold, when they come forth unto you, and ye see their way and their doings, then ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it;
22แต่จะมีบางคนเหลือรอด ทั้งลูกชายและลูกสาว และจะถูกพาออกมา พวกเขาจะมาหาพวกเจ้า แล้วพวกเจ้าจะเห็นทางที่พวกเขาเดินและสิ่งที่พวกเขาทำ พวกเจ้าจึงจะได้รับการปลอบใจเรื่องภัยร้ายที่เรานำมาเหนือเยรูซาเล็ม คือทุกสิ่งที่เราได้นำมาเหนือเมือง
23and they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their doings, and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.'
23เมื่อพวกเจ้าเห็นทางที่พวกเขาเดินและสิ่งที่พวกเขาทำ พวกเขาจะทำให้พวกเจ้าเข้าใจและสงบใจ แล้วพวกเจ้าจะรู้ว่าเรามีเหตุผลสำหรับทุกสิ่งที่เราทำแก่เมืองนั้น” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้
