1これはエサウ、すなわちエドムの系図である。
1Now these are the generations of Esau — the same is Edom.
2エサウはカナンの娘たちの中から妻をめとった。ヘト人エロンの娘アダ、ヒビ人ツィベオンの子アナの娘オホリバマ、
2Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
3そしてイシュマエルの娘で、ネバヨトの妹であるバセマテである。
3and Basemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebaioth.
4アダはエサウにエリファズを産み、バセマテはレウエルを産んだ。
4And Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz; and Basemath bore Reuel;
5オホリバマはエウシュ、ヤラム、コラを産んだ。これらはカナンの地でエサウに生まれた息子たちである。
5and Oholibamah bore Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau, that were born unto him in the land of Canaan.
6エサウは、妻たち、息子たち、娘たち、家のすべての人々、家畜、すべての獣、カナンの地で手に入れたすべての持ち物を携えて、弟ヤコブから離れた地へ行った。
6And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the souls of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his possessions, which he had gathered in the land of Canaan; and went into a land away from his brother Jacob.
7彼らの財産が多すぎて一緒に住むことができず、彼らの家畜のゆえに、彼らが寄留していた地は彼らを支えきれなかったからである。
7For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojournings could not bear them because of their cattle.
8エサウはセイルの山地に住んだ。エサウはエドムである。
8And Esau dwelt in the mountain-land of Seir — Esau is Edom.
9セイルの山地に住むエドム人の父エサウの系図は次のとおりである。
9And these are the generations of Esau the father of a the Edomites in the mountain-land of Seir.
10これらはエサウの息子たちの名である。エサウの妻アダの息子エリファズ、エサウの妻バセマテの息子レウエル。
10These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau.
11エリファズの息子たちは、テマン、オマル、ツェフォ、ガタム、ケナズであった。
11And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12ティムナはエサウの息子エリファズのそばめであり、彼女はエリファズにアマレクを産んだ。これらはエサウの妻アダの子どもたちである。
12And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek. These are the sons of Adah Esau's wife.
13これらはレウエルの息子たちである。ナハテ、ゼラ、シャンマ、ミザ。これらはエサウの妻バセマテの子どもたちであった。
13And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath Esau's wife.
14ツィベオンの子アナの娘である、エサウの妻オホリバマの息子たちは次のとおりである。彼女はエサウにエウシュ、ヤラム、コラを産んだ。
14And these were the sons of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife; and she bore to Esau Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.
15エサウの息子たちから出た首長たちは次のとおりである。エサウの長男エリファズの息子たちは、首長テマン、首長オマル、首長ツェフォ、首長ケナズ、
15These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the first-born of Esau: the chief of Teman, the chief of Omar, the chief of Zepho, the chief of Kenaz,
16首長コラ、首長ガタム、首長アマレク。これらはエドムの地でエリファズから出た首長たちである。これらはアダの子どもたちである。
16the chief of Korah, the chief of Gatam, the chief of Amalek. These are the chiefs that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah.
17エサウの息子レウエルの息子たちは次のとおりである。首長ナハテ、首長ゼラ、首長シャンマ、首長ミザ。これらはエドムの地でレウエルから出た首長たちである。これらはエサウの妻バセマテの子どもたちである。
17And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son: the chief of Nahath, the chief of Zerah, the chief of Shammah, the chief of Mizzah. These are the chiefs that came of Reuel in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Basemath Esau's wife.
18エサウの妻オホリバマの息子たちは次のとおりである。首長エウシュ、首長ヤラム、首長コラ。これらはエサウの妻であるアナの娘オホリバマから出た首長たちである。
18And these are the sons of Oholibamah Esau's wife: the chief of Jeush, the chief of Jalam, the chief of Korah. These are the chiefs that came of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.
19これらがエサウ、すなわちエドムの息子たちであり、これらが彼らの首長たちである。
19These are the sons of Esau, and these are their chiefs; the same is Edom.
20その地に住んでいたホリ人セイルの息子たちは次のとおりである。ロタン、ショバル、ツィベオン、アナ、
20These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah,
21ディション、エツェル、ディシャン。これらはエドムの地でセイルの子どもたちであるホリ人から出た首長たちである。
21and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan. These are the chiefs that came of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
22ロタンの子どもたちはホリとヘマムであった。ロタンの妹はティムナであった。
22And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.
23これらはショバルの子どもたちである。アルワン、マナハテ、エバル、シェフォ、オナム。
23And these are the children of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
24これらはツィベオンの子どもたちである。アヤとアナ。父ツィベオンのろばを飼っているときに、荒野で温泉を見つけたのはこのアナである。
24And these are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah — this is Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
25これらはアナの子どもたちである。ディションと、アナの娘オホリバマ。
25And these are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26これらはディションの子どもたちである。ヘムダン、エシュバン、イトラン、ケラン。
26And these are the children of Dishon: Hemdan and Eshban and Ithran and Cheran.
27これらはエツェルの子どもたちである。ビルハン、ザアワン、アカン。
27These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan and Zaavan and Akan.
28これらはディシャンの子どもたちである。ウツとアラン。
28These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
29これらはホリ人から出た首長たちである。首長ロタン、首長ショバル、首長ツィベオン、首長アナ、
29These are the chiefs that came of the Horites: the chief of Lotan, the chief of Shobal, the chief of Zibeon, the chief of Anah,
30首長ディション、首長エツェル、首長ディシャン。これらはセイルの地で、それぞれの首長にしたがう、ホリ人から出た首長たちである。
30the chief of Dishon, the chief of Ezer, the chief of Dishan. These are the chiefs that came of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
31イスラエルの子らを王が治める前に、エドムの地を治めていた王たちは次のとおりである。
31And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
32ベオルの息子ベラがエドムで王として治めた。彼の町の名はディンハバであった。
32And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33ベラが死に、ボツラのゼラの息子ヨバブが彼に代わって王となった。
33And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
34ヨバブが死に、テマン人の地のフシャムが彼に代わって王となった。
34And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.
35フシャムが死に、モアブの野でミディアンを打ったベダデの息子ハダドが彼に代わって王となった。彼の町の名はアビテであった。
35And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith.
36ハダドが死に、マスレカのサムラが彼に代わって王となった。
36And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
37サムラが死に、川のほとりのレホボトのシャウルが彼に代わって王となった。
37And Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his stead.
38シャウルが死に、アクボルの息子バアル・ハナンが彼に代わって王となった。
38And Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
39アクボルの息子バアル・ハナンが死に、ハダルが彼に代わって王となった。彼の町の名はパウであった。彼の妻の名はメヘタベルといい、メザハブの娘であるマトレドの娘であった。
39And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead; and the name of the city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
40エサウから出た首長たちの名は、それぞれの氏族、それぞれの場所、その名にしたがって次のとおりである。首長ティムナ、首長アルワ、首長エテテ、
40And these are the names of the chiefs that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names: the chief of Timna, the chief of Alvah, the chief of Jetheth;
41首長オホリバマ、首長エラ、首長ピノン、
41the chief of Oholibamah, the chief of Elah, the chief of Pinon;
42首長ケナズ、首長テマン、首長ミブツァル、
42the chief of Kenaz, the chief of Teman, the chief of Mibzar;
43首長マグディエル、首長イラム。これらが、彼らの所有地にある住まいにしたがうエドムの首長たちである。これがエドム人の父エサウである。
43the chief of Magdiel, the chief of Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is Esau the father of the Edomites.
