Olcueih 14

Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1Hlang cueih nu loh a im a sak dae, anglat long tah a kut neh a koengloeng.
1Every wise woman buildeth her house; but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
2BOEIPA aka rhih tah a dueng la cet dae, a longpuei kho aka hmang loh BOEIPA a hnaep.
2He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD; but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth Him.
3Hlang ang kah a ka ah hoemnah kuhci om tih, aka cueih rhoek kah hmuilai loh amamih te a ngaithuen sak.
3In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4Saelhung a om pawt vaengah kongduk khaw caih dae, vaito thadueng lamkah canghum cangpai thoeng.
4Where no oxen are, the crib is clean; but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5Oltak rhoek kah laipai tah a laithae moenih. Tedae a honghi kah laipai long tah laithae ni a sat.
5A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness breatheth forth lies.
6Hmuiyoi loh cueihnah a tlap dae a hong ni, mingnah he aka yakming ham tah yoeikoek mai.
6A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; but knowledge is easy unto him that hath discernment.
7Hlang ang te a hmai lamloh caeh tak, mingnah olka te na ming pawt ve.
7Go from the presence of a foolish man, for thou wilt not perceive the lips of knowledge.
8Aka thaai kah cueihnah long tah a longpuei te a yakming dae, aka ang kah a anglat tah thailatnah ni.
8The wisdom of the prudent is to look well to his way; but the folly of fools is deceit.
9Aka ang loh hmaithennah te a hnael dae, aka thuem long tah a laklo ah kolonah a saii.
9Amends pleadeth for fools; but among the upright there is good will.
10A hinglu khahingnah loh lungbuei a ming. Te dongah a kohoenah dongah rhalawt loh boi thil pawh.
10The heart knoweth its own bitterness; and with its joy no stranger can intermeddle.
11Halang rhoek kah im tah a phae pah vetih aka thuem kah dap tah rhoeng ni.
11The house of the wicked shall be overthrown; but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
12Longpuei he hlang kah mikhmuh ah thuem dae a hmailong ah dueknah longpuei la om.
12There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13Nueihbu dongah lungbuei loh thak a khoeih tih, a tloihsoi ah kohoenah khaw pha-ueknah la poeh.
13Even in laughter the heart acheth; and the end of mirth is heaviness.
14Lungbuei aka balkhong khaw, hlang then khaw a khosing te amah hah bitni.
14The dissembler in heart shall have his fill from his own ways; and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15Hlangyoe long tah olka boeih te a tangnah dae, aka thaai long tah a khokan te a yakming.
15The thoughtless believeth every word; but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16Aka cueih long tah a rhih tih boethae te a nong tak. Tedae aka ang long tah a paan tih a omtoem.
16A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil; but the fool behaveth overbearingly, and is confident.
17Thintoek bangkek loh a anglat a phoe tih, tangkhuepnah aka khueh hlang khaw a hmuhuet uh.
17He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly; and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18Hlangyoe loh anglat a pang tih, aka thaai rhoek loh mingnah te a muei uh.
18The thoughtless come into possession of folly; but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19Hlang thae rhoek te hlang then rhoek kah mikhmuh ah, halang rhoek te hlang dueng kah vongka ah ngam uh ni.
19The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20Khodaeng te a hui long khaw a hmuhuet tih, hlanglen tah muep a lungnah.
20The poor is hated even of his own neighbour; but the rich hath many friends.
21A hui taengah aka hnoelrhoeng uh tah tholh tih, mangdaeng kodo aka rhen tah a yoethen.
21He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth; but he that is gracious unto the humble, happy is he.
22Boethae aka uep rhoek te kho a hmang uh moenih a? Tedae sitlohnah neh uepomnah long tah hnothen ni a caai thil.
22Shall they not go astray that devise evil? But mercy and truth shall be for them that devise good.
23Patangnah cungkuem loh kumkonah a om sak. Tedae hmuilai dongkah ol bueng ngawn tah tloelnah la poeh.
23In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
24Khuehtawn he aka cueih rhoek kah a rhuisam la om tih, aka ang rhoek tah anglat la anglat coeng.
24The crown of the wise is their riches; but the folly of fools remaineth folly.
25Oltak kah laipai loh hinglu a huul tih, hlangthai palat loh laithae a sat.
25A true witness delivereth souls; but he that breatheth forth lies is all deceit.
26BOEIPA hinyahnah dongah pangtungnah sarhi khaw om, te dongah a ca rhoek ham hlipyingnah la om.
26In the fear of the LORD a man hath strong confidence; and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27BOEIPA hinyahnah tah hingnah thunsih neh, dueknah hlaeh lamloh aka phaelh sak la om.
27The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28Pilnam kah cangpai dongah ni manghai kah rhuepomnah khaw a om, namtu a om pawt vaengah mangpa kah porhaknah la om.
28In the multitude of people is the king's glory; but in the want of people is the ruin of the prince.
29Thintoek aka ueh tah bahoeng a lungcuei tih, mueihla bangkek loh anglat ni a pomsang.
29He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
30Lungbuei hoeihnah tah pumsa kah hingnah la om tih, thatlainah khaw rhuh keet la poeh.
30A tranquil heart is the life of the flesh; but envy is the rottenness of the bones.
31Tattloel aka hnaemtaek loh amah aka saii ni a veet, BOEIPA aka thangpom long tah khodaeng a rhen.
31He that oppresseth the poor blasphemeth his Maker; but he that is gracious unto the needy honoureth Him.
32Halang tah a boethae ah bung tih, aka dueng tah a dueknah rhangneh ying.
32The wicked is thrust down in his misfortune; but the righteous, even when he is brought to death, hath hope.
33Aka yakming kah lungbuei ah cueihnah khaw rhaehrhong tih, hlang ang lakli ah khaw ming uh coeng.
33In the heart of him that hath discernment wisdom resteth; but in the inward part of fools it maketh itself known.
34Duengnah loh namtom a pomsang tih, tholhnah loh namtu te rhaidaeng la a khueh.
34Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people.
35Manghai kah kolonah loh sal te a cangbam tih, a thinpom loh yah a bai.
35The king's favour is toward a servant that dealeth wisely; but his wrath striketh him that dealeth shamefully.
