1Ca aka cueih loh pa kah thuituennah a hnatun tih, hmuiyoi long tah tluungnah pataeng hnatun pawh.
1A wise son is instructed of his father; but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
2Hlang lai thaih lamloh a then khaw a cah dae, hnukpoh kah hinglu tah kuthlahnah la poeh.
2A man shall eat good from the fruit of his mouth; but the desire of the faithless is violence.
3A hinglu aka ngaithuen long tah a ka a tuem, a ka aka ang soeh khaw amah ham porhaknah la om.
3He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; but for him that openeth wide his lips there shall be ruin.
4Kolhnaw loh a ngaidam dae a hinglu a thum moenih. Tedae aka haam kah a hinglu tah hah ngaikhoek.
4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be abundantly gratified.
5Aka dueng loh a hong ol te a hmuhuet. Halang tah a borhim tih a hmai tal.
5A righteous man hateth lying; but a wicked man behaveth vilely and shamefully.
6Duengnah loh thincaknah longpuei te a kueinah tih, halangnah loh tholhnah a paimaelh.
6Righteousness guardeth him that is upright in the way; but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
7Boei tih ba aka khueh pawt khaw om, vawtthoek dae a boei a rhaeng aka coih khaw om.
7There is that pretendeth himself rich, yet hath nothing; there is that pretendeth himself poor, yet hath great wealth.
8Khuehtawn he hlang kah hinglu tlansum ni. Tedae khodaeng loh tluungnah a yaak moenih.
8The ransom of a man's life are his riches; but the poor heareth no threatening.
9Aka dueng kah khosae tah a kohoe tih, halang kah hmaithoi tah a thih pah.
9The light of the righteous rejoiceth; but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
10Althanah loh olpungnah a paek tih, uentonah dongah cueihnah om.
10By pride cometh only contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.
11A honghi lamkah boeirhaeng khaw yip muei tih, amah kut neh aka coi long tah a ping sak.
11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished; but he that gathereth little by little shall increase.
12Ngaiuepnah loh lungbuei aka nue a dangrhoek tih, hingnah thingkung loh ngaihlihnah a cung sak.
12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
13Olka aka hnoelrhoeng loh amah ham lai a koi vetih, olpaek aka rhih te anih loh a rhong ni.
13Whoso despiseth the word shall suffer thereby; but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
14Aka cueih kah olkhueng tah hingnah thunsih la om tih, dueknah hlaeh lamloh aka nong sak la om.
14The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
15Lungmingnah then tah mikdaithen la a khueh tih, hnukpoh kah longpuei tah mueng.
15Good understanding giveth grace; but the way of the faithless is harsh.
16Aka thaai loh mingnah neh boeih a saii tih, aka ang loh a anglat te a yaal.
16Every prudent man dealeth with forethought; but a fool unfoldeth folly.
17Halang puencawn tah yoethae ah cungku tih, oltak kah laipai tah hoeihnah la om.
17A wicked messenger falleth into evil; but a faithful ambassador is health.
18Khodaeng neh yah loh thuituennah a hlahpham tih, toelthamnah aka tuem tah a thangpom.
18Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction; but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
19Ngaihlihnah a dip te hinglu ham khaw tui dae, aka ang long tah boethae lamloh nong ham te tueilaehkoi la a om pah.
19The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; and it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.
20Hlang cueih taengah aka cet la aka cet tah cueih rhoela cueih tih, hlang ang neh aka luem tah lolh coeng.
20He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but the companion of fools shall smart for it.
21Hlangtholh rhoek te yoethae loh a hloem dae, aka dueng te hnothen neh a thuung.
21Evil pursueth sinners; but to the righteous good shall be repaid.
22Hlang then long tah a ca kah a ca khaw a phaeng dae, laihmu kah a thadueng tah hlang dueng hamla a khoem pah.
22A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous.
23Khodaeng kah khohai cang tah thawt tangloeng dae, tiktamnah a om pawt dongah a khoengvoep.
23Much food is in the tillage of the poor; but there is that is swept away by want of righteousness.
24A ca aka thiinah loh a cungcik a hnaih, tedae aka lungnah tah thuituennah neh a toem.
24He that spareth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
25Hlang dueng loh a hinglu dongah kodam la a caak dae, halang tah a bung a vaitah.
25The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his desire; but the belly of the wicked shall want.
