Joba 29

Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Job loh amah kah a pom te a cong tih,
1Job also added, taking up his parable, and said:
2“Kai he hlamat kah hla bangla aka khueh tih Pathen kah khohnin bangla kai aka tuem te unim?
2Who will grant me, that I might be according to the months past, according to the days in which God kept me?
3Amah loh a hmaithoi te ka lu soah a thangthen tih amah kah vangnah nen ni a hmuep ah khaw ka caeh.
3When his lamp shined over my head, and I walked by his light in darkness?
4Ka cavaa tue vaengah khaw ka dap ah Pathen kah baecenol la ka om.
4As I was in the days of my youth, when God was secretly in my tabernacle?
5Tlungthang te kai taengah om pueng tih, ka kaepvai ka ca rhoek om.
5When the Almighty was with me: and my servants round about me?
6Ka khokan te suknaeng neh a hluk tih lungpang loh kai ham situi sokca a long sak.
6When I washed my feet with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil?
7Vangpuei vongka ah ka thoeng tih toltung ah ka ngolhmuen cikngae sak.
7When I went out to the gate of the city, and in the street they prepared me a chair?
8Kai m'hmuh uh vaengah cadong rhoek te thuh uh. Patong rhoek khaw thoo uh tih pai uh.
8The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the old men rose up and stood.
9Mangpa rhoek loh olthui te a phah uh tih a kut te a ka dongla a khueh uh.
9The princes ceased to speak, and laid the finger on their mouth.
10Rhaengsang rhoek ol te a phah tih a lai khaw a dang dongla kap.
10The rulers held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to their throat.
11Hna loh a yaak vaengah kai n'uem tih mik loh a hmuh vaengah kai n'rhalrhing sak.
11The ear that heard me blessed me, and the eye that saw me gave witness to me:
12Mangdaeng loh bomnah a bih tih cadah neh a taengah aka bom aka om pawt khaw ka loeih sak.
12Because I had delivered the poor man that cried out; and the fatherless that had no helper.
13Hlang milh kah yoethennah te kai soah pai tih nuhmai kah lungbuei khaw ka tamhoe sak.
13The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me, and I comforted the heart of the widow.
14Duengnah te ka bai tih hnikul bangla kai n'khuk. Ka tiktamnah he ka sammuei nah ni.
14I was clad with justice: and I clothed myself with my judgment, as with a robe and a diadem.
15Mikdael taengah mik la, khokhaem taengah kho la ka om.
15I was an eye to the blind, and a foot to the lame.
16Kai tah khodaeng taengah a napa la ka om tih ming pawt kah tuituknah te ka khe pah.
16I was the father of the poor: and the cause which I knew not, I searched out most diligently.
17Boethae kah pumcu te ka thuk pah tih a no lamkah maeh te ka voeih pah.
17I broke the jaws of the wicked man, and out of his teeth I took away the prey.
18Te dongah, “Ka bu ah ka pal mako,” ka ti tih laivin bangla khohnin ka puh.
18And I said: I shall die in my nest, and as a palm tree shall multiply my days.
19Ka yung loh tui taengla a muk tih buemtui loh ka cangvuei dongah rhaeh.
19My root is opened beside the waters, and dew shall continue in my harvest.
20Ka thangpomnah ka taengah thai tih ka lii ka kut dongah tinghil.
20My glory shall always be renewed, and my bow in my hand shall be repaired.
21Kai taengah a hnatun uh tih a lamtawn uh dongah ka cilsuep ham kuemsuem uh.
21They that heard me, waited for my sentence, and being attentive held their peace at my counsel.
22Ka ol hnukah talh uh voel pawt tih kai olthui he amih soah tla.
22To my words they durst add nothing, and my speech dropped upon them.
23Kai ham tah khotlan bangla a lamtawn uh tih a ka loh tlankhol bangla a ang uh.
23They waited for me as for rain, and they opened their mouth as for a latter shower.
24Amih taengah ka luem dae n'tangnah uh pawt tih ka maelhmai vangnah dongah khaw yalh uh pawh.
24If at any time I laughed on them, they believed not, and the light of my countenance fell not on earth.
25Amih kah longpuei te ka coelh tih boeilu la ka ngol. Caem lakli ah manghai bangla kho ka sak tih rhahdoe cangpoem akhaw a hloep.
25If I had a mind to go to them, I sat first, and when I sat as a king, with his army standing about him, yet I was a comforter of them that mourned.
