1แม้พันธสัญญาแรก ก็มีกฎระเบียบสำหรับการนมัสการพระเจ้า และมีสถานศักดิ์สิทธิ์บนโลก
1Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2เพราะมีการจัดเตรียมเต็นท์ขึ้น ในส่วนแรกมีเชิงตะเกียง โต๊ะ และขนมปังตั้งถวาย ส่วนนี้เรียกว่า “สถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์”
2For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3หลังม่านชั้นที่สองมีเต็นท์ส่วนที่เรียกว่า “สถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่สุด”
3And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4ในนั้นมีแท่นทองคำสำหรับเผาเครื่องหอมและหีบแห่งพันธสัญญาซึ่งหุ้มทองคำทุกด้าน ภายในหีบมีภาชนะทองคำใส่มานา ไม้เท้าของอาโรนที่แตกหน่อ และแผ่นศิลาแห่งพันธสัญญา
4Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5เหนือหีบมีเครูบแห่งพระสิริกางปีกปกคลุมฝาหีบแห่งพระเมตตา เรื่องเหล่านี้เราไม่สามารถกล่าวอย่างละเอียดได้ในตอนนี้
5And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we can not now speak particularly.
6เมื่อสิ่งเหล่านี้ถูกจัดเตรียมไว้เช่นนี้แล้วบรรดาปุโรหิตก็เข้าไปในเต็นท์ส่วนแรกอยู่เสมอเพื่อทำงานรับใช้ตามหน้าที่
6Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God .
7แต่ในส่วนที่สอง มีเพียงมหาปุโรหิตที่เข้าไปปีละครั้ง และเขาต้องนำเลือดไปด้วยเพื่อถวายสำหรับตัวเองและความผิดที่ประชาชนทำโดยไม่รู้
7But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ทรงชี้ให้เห็นว่าทางเข้าสู่สถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ยังไม่ได้ถูกเปิดเผยตราบใดที่เต็นท์แรกยังตั้งอยู่
8The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9สิ่งนี้เป็นสัญลักษณ์สำหรับยุคปัจจุบัน ซึ่งมีการถวายของถวายและเครื่องบูชาที่ไม่สามารถทำให้ผู้นมัสการสมบูรณ์ได้ในด้านจิตสำนึก
9Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10สิ่งเหล่านั้นเป็นเพียงกฎระเบียบที่เกี่ยวกับร่างกายในเรื่องอาหาร เครื่องดื่ม และการชำระล้างหลายแบบ ซึ่งกำหนดไว้จนถึงเวลาที่จะมีการจัดสิ่งต่าง ๆ ใหม่
10Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11แต่เมื่อพระคริสต์มาเป็นมหาปุโรหิตของสิ่งดีที่กำลังจะมา พระองค์ทรงผ่านเต็นท์ที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่าและสมบูรณ์กว่า ซึ่งไม่ได้สร้างด้วยมือ คือไม่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสิ่งทรงสร้างนี้
11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12และพระองค์ไม่ได้เข้าไปด้วยเลือดแพะหรือลูกวัว แต่ด้วยเลือดของพระองค์เอง พระองค์ทรงเข้าไปในสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์เพียงครั้งเดียวตลอดไป และได้มาซึ่งการไถ่นิรันดร์
12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us .
13เพราะถ้าเลือดแพะและวัวกับเถ้าของลูกวัวตัวเมียที่ใช้ประพรมคนที่เป็นมลทินยังชำระพวกเขาให้บริสุทธิ์จนร่างกายสะอาดได้
13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14แล้วเลือดของพระคริสต์จะยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเพียงใด พระองค์ทรงถวายพระองค์เองแด่พระเจ้าโดยพระวิญญาณนิรันดร์อย่างไร้ตำหนิ เลือดนั้นจะชำระจิตสำนึกของพวกคุณจากการกระทำที่ตายแล้ว เพื่อพวกคุณจะรับใช้พระเจ้าผู้มีชีวิต?
14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15เพราะเหตุนี้พระองค์จึงเป็นคนกลางของพันธสัญญาใหม่ เพราะมีความตายเกิดขึ้นเพื่อการไถ่จากการล่วงละเมิดที่อยู่ภายใต้พันธสัญญาแรก เพื่อคนที่ได้รับการเรียกจะได้รับพระสัญญาเรื่องมรดกนิรันดร์
15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16เพราะที่ใดมีพินัยกรรมที่นั่นจำเป็นต้องมีความตายของผู้ทำพินัยกรรม
16For where a testament is , there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17พินัยกรรมมีผลเมื่อผู้ทำตายแล้วเพราะตราบใดที่ผู้ทำยังมีชีวิตอยู่พินัยกรรมก็ยังไม่มีผล
17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18เพราะฉะนั้นแม้พันธสัญญาแรกก็ไม่ได้เริ่มใช้โดยปราศจากเลือด
18Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19เมื่อโมเสสกล่าวคำบัญชาทุกข้อตามธรรมบัญญัติแก่ประชาชนทั้งหมดแล้ว เขานำเลือดลูกวัวและแพะพร้อมกับน้ำ ขนแกะสีแดง และต้นหุสบ มาประพรมทั้งหนังสือนั้นเองและประชาชนทั้งหมด
19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20โดยกล่าวว่า “นี่คือเลือดแห่งพันธสัญญาซึ่งพระเจ้าทรงบัญชาพวกคุณ”
20Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21เขายังใช้เลือดประพรมเต็นท์และภาชนะทุกชิ้นที่ใช้ในงานรับใช้เช่นเดียวกัน
21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22ตามธรรมบัญญัติเกือบทุกสิ่งถูกชำระให้สะอาดด้วยเลือดและถ้าไม่มีการหลั่งเลือดก็ไม่มีการยกโทษ
22And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23เพราะฉะนั้นสิ่งที่เป็นแบบจำลองของสิ่งในสวรรค์จำเป็นต้องได้รับการชำระด้วยสิ่งเหล่านี้ แต่สิ่งในสวรรค์เองต้องได้รับการชำระด้วยเครื่องบูชาที่ดีกว่าสิ่งเหล่านี้
23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24เพราะพระคริสต์ไม่ได้เข้าไปในสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่สร้างด้วยมือซึ่งเป็นภาพแทนของสิ่งจริง แต่ทรงเข้าไปในสวรรค์เอง เพื่อบัดนี้จะปรากฏต่อหน้าพระเจ้าเพื่อเรา
24For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25และไม่ใช่เพื่อถวายพระองค์เองบ่อย ๆ เหมือนมหาปุโรหิตที่เข้าไปในสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ปีแล้วปีเล่าพร้อมเลือดที่ไม่ใช่ของตนเอง
25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26ไม่เช่นนั้นพระองค์คงต้องทนทุกข์หลายครั้งตั้งแต่เริ่มสร้างโลก แต่บัดนี้ในตอนปลายของยุคทั้งหลาย พระองค์ได้ปรากฏเพียงครั้งเดียวเพื่อกำจัดบาปด้วยการถวายพระองค์เองเป็นเครื่องบูชา
26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27มนุษย์ถูกกำหนดให้ตายครั้งเดียว และหลังจากนั้นก็มีการพิพากษาฉันใด
27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28พระคริสต์ก็เช่นกัน เมื่อพระองค์ถูกถวายครั้งเดียวเพื่อแบกรับบาปของคนมากมาย พระองค์จะปรากฏเป็นครั้งที่สอง ไม่ใช่เพื่อจัดการกับบาป แต่เพื่อช่วยคนที่เฝ้ารอพระองค์อย่างใจจดใจจ่อให้รอด
28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
