1นี่คือถ้อยคำของเยเรมีย์ บุตรฮิลคียาห์ ปุโรหิตคนหนึ่งในอานาโธท ในดินแดนเบนยามิน
1The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
2คำจากพระยาห์เวห์ มาถึงเขาในรัชสมัยโยสิยาห์ บุตรอาโมน กษัตริย์ยูดาห์ ในปีที่สิบสามแห่งรัชกาล
2To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3คำนั้นยังมาถึงเขาในรัชสมัยเยโฮยาคิม บุตรโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์ยูดาห์ ต่อเนื่องไปจนสิ้นปีที่สิบเอ็ดแห่งรัชกาลเศเดคียาห์ บุตรโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์ยูดาห์ จนถึงเมื่อเยรูซาเล็มถูกกวาดต้อนไปเป็นเชลยในเดือนที่ห้า
3It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
4คำจากพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
4Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5“ก่อนเราปั้นเจ้าในครรภ์ เราก็รู้จักเจ้าแล้ว ก่อนเจ้าเกิด เราได้แยกเจ้าไว้ให้บริสุทธิ์ เราได้แต่งตั้งเจ้าเป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะแก่ชนชาติต่าง ๆ”
5Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6ข้าพเจ้าทูลว่า “โอ้ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ ข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้จะพูดอย่างไร เพราะข้าพเจ้าเป็นเด็ก”
6Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD ! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7แต่พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวกับข้าพเจ้าว่า “อย่าพูดว่า ‘ข้าพเจ้าเป็นเด็ก’ เราส่งเจ้าไปหาใคร เจ้าก็ต้องไป เราสั่งให้พูดอะไร เจ้าก็ต้องพูด
7¶ But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8อย่ากลัวพวกเขา เพราะเราอยู่กับเจ้าเพื่อช่วยเจ้าให้พ้นภัย” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
8Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD .
9แล้วพระยาห์เวห์ยื่นมือมาแตะปากข้าพเจ้า แล้วพระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “นี่ เราใส่ถ้อยคำของเราไว้ในปากเจ้าแล้ว
9Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10นี่ วันนี้เราตั้งเจ้าไว้เหนือชนชาติและอาณาจักรต่าง ๆ เพื่อถอนราก รื้อทำลาย ทำลายล้างและโค่นลง เพื่อสร้างและปลูก”
10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
11คำจากพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าอีกว่า “เยเรมีย์ เจ้าเห็นอะไร?” ข้าพเจ้าทูลว่า “ข้าพเจ้าเห็นกิ่งอัลมอนด์”
11¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
12พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “เจ้าเห็นถูกแล้ว เพราะเราเฝ้าดูถ้อยคำของเราเพื่อทำให้สำเร็จ”
12Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
13คำจากพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าเป็นครั้งที่สองว่า “เจ้าเห็นอะไร?” ข้าพเจ้าทูลว่า “ข้าพเจ้าเห็นหม้อใบใหญ่ที่กำลังเดือด เอียงออกจากทิศเหนือ”
13And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
14พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “ภัยร้ายจะปะทุจากทิศเหนือมาถึงทุกคนที่อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินนี้
14Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15จงฟัง เราจะเรียกทุกตระกูลของอาณาจักรทางเหนือมา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว “พวกเขาจะมา แต่ละคนจะตั้งบัลลังก์ที่ทางเข้าประตูเยรูซาเล็ม เพื่อต่อสู้กับกำแพงเมืองทุกด้าน และกับทุกเมืองของยูดาห์
15For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD ; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
16เราจะประกาศคำพิพากษาลงโทษพวกเขาเพราะความชั่วทั้งหมด เพราะพวกเขาละทิ้งเรา เผาเครื่องหอมบูชาเทพเจ้าอื่น และกราบไหว้สิ่งที่มือตนเองทำขึ้น
16And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
17“ส่วนเจ้า จงรัดเข็มขัดที่เอว ลุกขึ้น และบอกพวกเขาทุกอย่างที่เราสั่ง อย่าหวาดหวั่นต่อหน้าพวกเขา มิฉะนั้นเราจะทำให้เจ้าหวาดหวั่นต่อหน้าพวกเขา
17¶ Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
18นี่ วันนี้เราทำให้เจ้าเป็นเมืองที่มีป้อมปราการ เป็นเสาเหล็กและกำแพงทองสัมฤทธิ์ ยืนหยัดต่อสู้กับทั้งแผ่นดิน กับกษัตริย์ยูดาห์ กับขุนนาง กับปุโรหิต และกับประชาชนในแผ่นดิน
18For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
19พวกเขาจะต่อสู้กับเจ้า แต่จะเอาชนะเจ้าไม่ได้ เพราะเราอยู่กับเจ้า” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว “เพื่อช่วยเจ้าให้พ้นภัย”
19And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD , to deliver thee.
