1ในปฐมกาล พระคำมีอยู่ พระคำอยู่กับพระเจ้า และพระคำคือพระเจ้า
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2พระคำอยู่กับพระเจ้าในปฐมกาล
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3ทุกสิ่งเกิดขึ้นผ่านพระองค์ และถ้าไม่ผ่านพระองค์ ก็ไม่มีสิ่งใดเกิดขึ้นเลย
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4ในพระองค์มีชีวิต และชีวิตนั้นเป็นความสว่างของมนุษย์
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5ความสว่างส่องอยู่ในความมืด และความมืดเอาชนะความสว่างไม่ได้
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6มีชายคนหนึ่งที่พระเจ้าส่งมา ชื่อยอห์น
6¶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7เขามาในฐานะพยาน เพื่อเป็นพยานยืนยันเรื่องความสว่าง เพื่อให้ทุกคนเชื่อโดยอาศัยคำพยานของเขา
7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8เขาไม่ใช่ความสว่าง แต่พระเจ้าส่งเขามาเพื่อเป็นพยานยืนยันเรื่องความสว่าง
8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9ความสว่างแท้ที่ให้ความสว่างแก่ทุกคนกำลังมาในโลก
9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10พระองค์อยู่ในโลก โลกเกิดขึ้นผ่านพระองค์ แต่โลกไม่รู้จักพระองค์
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11พระองค์มาหาคนของพระองค์เอง แต่คนของพระองค์เองไม่ต้อนรับพระองค์
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12แต่ทุกคนที่ต้อนรับพระองค์ พระองค์ให้สิทธิ์พวกเขาเป็นลูกของพระเจ้า คือคนที่เชื่อในพระนามของพระองค์
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13คนเหล่านี้ไม่ได้เกิดจากสายเลือด ไม่ใช่จากความปรารถนาทางกาย หรือจากความต้องการของมนุษย์ แต่เกิดจากพระเจ้า
13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14พระคำมาเป็นเนื้อหนัง และมาอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกเรา พวกเราได้เห็นพระสิริของพระองค์ คือพระสิริของพระบุตรผู้บังเกิดเพียงองค์เดียว จากพระบิดา พระองค์เปี่ยมด้วยพระคุณและความจริง
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15ยอห์นเป็นพยานยืนยันเรื่องพระองค์ เขาร้องเสียงดังว่า “นี่คือผู้ที่ข้าพเจ้าพูดถึงว่า ‘ผู้ที่มาหลังข้าพเจ้าอยู่เหนือข้าพเจ้า เพราะพระองค์มีอยู่ก่อนข้าพเจ้า’”
15¶ John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16จากความบริบูรณ์ของพระองค์ พวกเราทุกคนได้รับพระคุณแล้วพระคุณอีก
16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17เพราะพระเจ้าประทานธรรมบัญญัติผ่านโมเสส ส่วนพระคุณและความจริงปรากฏขึ้นผ่านพระเยซูคริสต์
17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18ไม่เคยมีใครเห็นพระเจ้าเลย พระบุตรผู้บังเกิดเพียงองค์เดียว ผู้อยู่ในอ้อมอกของพระบิดา เป็นผู้เปิดเผยให้เรารู้จักพระเจ้า
18No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19นี่คือคำพยานของยอห์น เมื่อชาวยิวส่งปุโรหิตและคนเลวีจากเยรูซาเล็มมาถามเขาว่า “ท่านเป็นใคร?”
19¶ And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20เขายืนยันอย่างเปิดเผย ไม่ได้ปฏิเสธ แต่ยืนยันว่า “ข้าพเจ้าไม่ใช่พระคริสต์”
20And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21พวกเขาถามเขาว่า “ถ้าอย่างนั้น ท่านเป็นเอลียาห์หรือ?” เขาตอบว่า “ไม่ใช่” “ท่านเป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะคนนั้นหรือ?” เขาตอบว่า “ไม่ใช่”
21And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22พวกเขาจึงถามเขาว่า “แล้วท่านเป็นใคร? บอกพวกเราด้วย เพื่อพวกเราจะได้นำคำตอบกลับไปให้คนที่ส่งพวกเรามา ท่านพูดถึงตัวเองว่าอย่างไร?”
22Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23เขาตอบว่า “ข้าพเจ้าคือเสียงของคนหนึ่งที่ร้องในถิ่นทุรกันดารว่า ‘จงทำทางขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าให้ตรง’ ตามที่อิสยาห์ผู้เผยพระวจนะกล่าวไว้”
23He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24คนที่ถูกส่งมาเหล่านั้นเป็นพวกฟาริสี
24And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25พวกเขาถามยอห์นว่า “ถ้าท่านไม่ใช่พระคริสต์ ไม่ใช่เอลียาห์ และไม่ใช่ผู้เผยพระวจนะคนนั้น แล้วทำไมท่านจึงให้คนรับบัพติศมา?”
25And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26ยอห์นตอบพวกเขาว่า “ข้าพเจ้าให้คนรับบัพติศมาด้วยน้ำ แต่ท่ามกลางพวกคุณมีผู้หนึ่งยืนอยู่ ซึ่งพวกคุณไม่รู้จัก
26John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27พระองค์คือผู้ที่มาหลังข้าพเจ้า แต่อยู่เหนือข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าไม่คู่ควรแม้แต่จะแก้สายรัดรองเท้าของพระองค์”
27He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28เหตุการณ์เหล่านี้เกิดขึ้นที่เบธานี ฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดน ที่ซึ่งยอห์นกำลังให้คนรับบัพติศมา
28These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29วันรุ่งขึ้น ยอห์นเห็นพระเยซูกำลังมาหาเขา จึงกล่าวว่า “จงดู ลูกแกะของพระเจ้า ผู้เอาบาปของโลกออกไป!
29¶ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30พระองค์นี้แหละคือผู้ที่ข้าพเจ้าพูดถึงว่า ‘หลังจากข้าพเจ้าจะมีชายคนหนึ่งมา ซึ่งอยู่เหนือข้าพเจ้า เพราะพระองค์มีอยู่ก่อนข้าพเจ้า’
30This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31ข้าพเจ้าเองก็ไม่รู้จักพระองค์ แต่เหตุที่ข้าพเจ้ามาให้คนรับบัพติศมาด้วยน้ำ ก็เพื่อให้พระองค์ปรากฏแก่อิสราเอล”
31And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32ยอห์นเป็นพยานยืนยันว่า “ข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นพระวิญญาณลงมาจากสวรรค์เหมือนนกพิราบ และคงอยู่เหนือพระองค์
32And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33ข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้จักพระองค์ แต่ผู้ที่ส่งข้าพเจ้ามาให้คนรับบัพติศมาด้วยน้ำบอกข้าพเจ้าว่า ‘ท่านเห็นพระวิญญาณลงมาและคงอยู่เหนือผู้ใด ผู้นั้นแหละคือผู้ที่ให้คนรับบัพติศมาในพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์’
33And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
34ข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นแล้ว และได้เป็นพยานยืนยันว่า พระองค์นี้คือพระบุตรของพระเจ้า”
34And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
35วันรุ่งขึ้น ยอห์นยืนอยู่ที่นั่นอีกครั้งกับสาวกของเขาสองคน
35¶ Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
36เมื่อเขามองดูพระเยซูที่กำลังเดินผ่านไป เขากล่าวว่า “จงดู ลูกแกะของพระเจ้า!”
36And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
37สาวกสองคนนั้นได้ยินเขาพูดเช่นนั้น จึงติดตามพระเยซู
37And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
38พระเยซูหันมาเห็นพวกเขากำลังตามพระองค์ จึงถามว่า “พวกคุณกำลังหาอะไร?” พวกเขาตอบพระองค์ว่า “รับบี” (แปลว่า อาจารย์) “ท่านพักอยู่ที่ไหน?”
38Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
39พระองค์ตอบว่า “มาดู” พวกเขาจึงไปและเห็นที่ที่พระองค์พัก แล้วอยู่กับพระองค์ในวันนั้น เวลานั้นประมาณชั่วโมงที่สิบ
39He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
40คนหนึ่งในสองคนที่ได้ยินยอห์นพูดและติดตามพระเยซู คืออันดรูว์ พี่น้องของซีโมนเปโตร
40One of the two which heard John speak , and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
41ก่อนอื่นเขาไปหาซีโมนพี่น้องของตน และบอกว่า “พวกเราพบพระเมสสิยาห์แล้ว!” (แปลว่า พระคริสต์)
41He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
42แล้วอันดรูว์พาซีโมนมาหาพระเยซู พระเยซูมองเขาและกล่าวว่า “ท่านคือซีโมนบุตรของโยนาห์ ท่านจะได้ชื่อว่า เคฟาส” (แปลว่า เปโตร)
42And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
43วันรุ่งขึ้น พระเยซูตั้งใจจะออกไปยังแคว้นกาลิลี พระองค์พบฟีลิป และกล่าวกับเขาว่า “ตามเรามา”
43¶ The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
44ฟีลิปเป็นคนเมืองเบธไซดา เมืองเดียวกับอันดรูว์และเปโตร
44Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45ฟีลิปไปพบนาธานาเอล และบอกเขาว่า “พวกเราพบผู้ที่โมเสสเขียนถึงในธรรมบัญญัติ และบรรดาผู้เผยพระวจนะก็เขียนถึงด้วย คือพระเยซูชาวนาซาเร็ธ บุตรของโยเซฟ”
45Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
46นาธานาเอลถามเขาว่า “จะมีสิ่งดีอะไรออกมาจากนาซาเร็ธได้หรือ?” ฟีลิปตอบว่า “มาดูสิ”
46And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
47พระเยซูเห็นนาธานาเอลกำลังมาหาพระองค์ จึงกล่าวถึงเขาว่า “นี่คือชาวอิสราเอลแท้จริงคนหนึ่ง ซึ่งไม่มีเล่ห์เหลี่ยม!”
47Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
48นาธานาเอลถามพระองค์ว่า “ท่านรู้จักผมได้อย่างไร?” พระเยซูตอบเขาว่า “ก่อนที่ฟีลิปจะเรียกท่าน ตอนที่ท่านอยู่ใต้ต้นมะเดื่อ เราเห็นท่าน”
48Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
49นาธานาเอลตอบพระองค์ว่า “รับบี ท่านคือพระบุตรของพระเจ้า! ท่านคือกษัตริย์ของอิสราเอล!”
49Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
50พระเยซูตอบเขาว่า “เพราะเราบอกท่านว่า ‘เราเห็นท่านใต้ต้นมะเดื่อ’ ท่านจึงเชื่อหรือ? ท่านจะได้เห็นสิ่งที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่านี้!”
50Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
51แล้วพระองค์กล่าวกับเขาว่า “เราขอยืนยันกับพวกคุณว่า ต่อจากนี้พวกคุณจะเห็นสวรรค์เปิดออก และเหล่าทูตสวรรค์ของพระเจ้าขึ้นไปและลงมายังบุตรมนุษย์”
51And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
