1สาส์นที่เปิดเผยมา เป็นคำของพระยาห์เวห์ถึงอิสราเอลผ่านทางมาลาคี
1The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.
2“เรารักพวกคุณ” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว แต่พวกคุณกลับถามว่า “พระองค์รักพวกเราอย่างไร?” “เอซาวกับยาโคบไม่ใช่พี่น้องกันหรือ?” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว “แต่เรารักยาโคบ
2I have loved you, saith the LORD . Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD : yet I loved Jacob,
3ส่วนเอซาว เราเกลียด เราทำให้ภูเขาของเขารกร้าง และยกมรดกของเขาให้สุนัขแจ็กคัลในถิ่นกันดาร”
3And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
4เอโดมพูดว่า “พวกเราถูกทำลาย แต่จะกลับไปสร้างที่รกร้างขึ้นใหม่” แต่พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าวดังนี้ “พวกเขาจะสร้าง แต่เราจะรื้อทิ้ง ผู้คนจะเรียกพวกเขาว่า ‘แผ่นดินชั่วร้าย’ เป็นชนชาติที่พระยาห์เวห์โกรธตลอดไป”
4Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.
5พวกคุณจะเห็นด้วยตาของตนเอง และจะพูดว่า “พระยาห์เวห์ยิ่งใหญ่แม้นอกเขตแดนอิสราเอล!”
5And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.
6“ลูกชายให้เกียรติพ่อ ผู้รับใช้ให้เกียรตินาย ถ้าเราเป็นพ่อ เกียรติที่พวกคุณให้เราอยู่ที่ไหน? ถ้าเราเป็นนาย ความเคารพที่เราควรได้รับอยู่ที่ไหน?” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าวกับพวกคุณผู้เป็นปุโรหิตที่ดูหมิ่นนามเรา “พวกคุณถามว่า ‘พวกเราดูหมิ่นนามของพระองค์อย่างไร?’
6¶ A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
7พวกคุณถวายขนมปังที่มีมลทินบนแท่นบูชาของเรา แล้วถามว่า ‘พวกเราทำให้พระองค์มีมลทินอย่างไร?’ ก็เพราะพวกคุณพูดว่า ‘โต๊ะของพระยาห์เวห์น่าดูหมิ่น’
7Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.
8เมื่อพวกคุณถวายสัตว์ตาบอดเป็นเครื่องบูชา นั่นไม่ชั่วร้ายหรือ? เมื่อถวายสัตว์ที่เดินกะเผลกและสัตว์ป่วย นั่นไม่ชั่วร้ายหรือ? ลองนำไปให้ผู้ว่าราชการของพวกคุณเดี๋ยวนี้สิ! เขาจะพอใจหรือ? จะยอมรับพวกคุณหรือ?” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว
8And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
9“บัดนี้ โปรดวิงวอนขอความโปรดปรานจากพระเจ้า เพื่อพระองค์จะเมตตาพวกเรา ถ้าเป็นอย่างนี้ พระองค์จะยอมรับใครในพวกคุณหรือ?” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว
9And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.
10“ถ้ามีสักคนในพวกคุณปิดประตูเสียก็ดี จะได้ไม่ต้องจุดไฟบนแท่นบูชาของเราอย่างไร้ประโยชน์! เราไม่พอใจพวกคุณ” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว “และจะไม่รับเครื่องบูชาจากมือพวกคุณ
10Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
11เพราะตั้งแต่ดวงอาทิตย์ขึ้นจนถึงดวงอาทิตย์ตก นามของเรายิ่งใหญ่ท่ามกลางชนชาติต่าง ๆ ทุกแห่งจะมีเครื่องหอมและเครื่องบูชาบริสุทธิ์ถวายแด่นามเรา เพราะนามของเรายิ่งใหญ่ท่ามกลางชนชาติต่าง ๆ” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว
11For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
12“แต่พวกคุณทำให้นามนั้นเสื่อมเสียเมื่อพูดว่า ‘โต๊ะของพระยาห์เวห์มีมลทิน และอาหารที่ได้จากโต๊ะนั้นก็น่าดูหมิ่น’
12¶ But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
13พวกคุณยังพูดว่า ‘ดูสิ น่าเหนื่อยหน่ายจริง!’ และยังแค่นเสียงใส่” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว “พวกคุณนำของที่ถูกแย่งชิงด้วยความรุนแรง สัตว์ที่เดินกะเผลก และสัตว์ป่วยมาถวาย นี่คือเครื่องบูชาที่พวกคุณนำมา เราควรรับจากมือพวกคุณหรือ?” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
13Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD .
14“ผู้หลอกลวงที่มีสัตว์ตัวผู้ในฝูงของตน และบนบานไว้ แต่กลับถวายสัตว์มีตำหนิแด่พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ย่อมถูกสาป เพราะเราเป็นกษัตริย์ยิ่งใหญ่” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว “และชนชาติทั้งหลายเกรงขามนามของเรา”
14But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
