1เธโอฟีลัส หนังสือเล่มแรกที่ข้าพเจ้าเขียนนั้นกล่าวถึงทุกสิ่งที่พระเยซูเริ่มทำและสั่งสอน
1The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2จนถึงวันที่พระองค์ถูกรับขึ้นไป หลังจากที่พระองค์ได้ให้คำสั่งโดยพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์แก่เหล่าอัครทูตที่พระองค์เลือกไว้
2Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3หลังจากที่พระองค์ทนทุกข์แล้ว พระองค์ก็แสดงให้พวกเขาเห็นว่าพระองค์ยังมีชีวิตอยู่ด้วยหลักฐานมากมาย โดยปรากฏแก่พวกเขาตลอดสี่สิบวันและกล่าวถึงอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า
3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4เมื่อพระองค์อยู่ร่วมกับพวกเขา พระองค์สั่งว่า “อย่าออกจากกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม แต่จงรอสิ่งที่พระบิดาสัญญาไว้ ซึ่งพวกคุณได้ยินจากเรา
4And, being assembled together with them , commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he , ye have heard of me.
5เพราะยอห์นให้คนรับบัพติศมาด้วยน้ำ แต่ในอีกไม่กี่วันพวกคุณจะได้รับบัพติศมาในพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์”
5For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6เมื่อพวกเขามารวมกัน จึงถามพระองค์ว่า “องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เวลานี้พระองค์จะฟื้นฟูอาณาจักรให้อิสราเอลหรือ?”
6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7พระองค์กล่าวกับพวกเขาว่า “ไม่ใช่เรื่องที่พวกคุณจะรู้เวลาและวาระที่พระบิดากำหนดไว้ด้วยสิทธิอำนาจของพระองค์เอง
7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8แต่พวกคุณจะได้รับพลังเมื่อพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์มาเหนือพวกคุณ และพวกคุณจะเป็นพยานถึงเราในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ทั่วทั้งแคว้นยูเดียและสะมาเรีย และจนถึงสุดปลายแผ่นดินโลก”
8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9เมื่อพระองค์กล่าวสิ่งเหล่านี้แล้ว ขณะที่พวกเขากำลังมองอยู่ พระองค์ก็ถูกรับขึ้นไป และเมฆก็รับพระองค์ไปจนพ้นสายตาของพวกเขา
9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10ขณะที่พวกเขาจ้องมองขึ้นไปบนท้องฟ้าในเวลาที่พระองค์กำลังจากไป ก็มีชายสองคนสวมเสื้อผ้าสีขาวมายืนอยู่ข้างพวกเขา
10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11ชายทั้งสองกล่าวว่า “ชาวกาลิลี ทำไมพวกคุณจึงยืนมองขึ้นไปบนท้องฟ้า? พระเยซูองค์นี้ซึ่งถูกรับขึ้นไปจากพวกคุณสู่ท้องฟ้า จะกลับมาในลักษณะเดียวกับที่พวกคุณเห็นพระองค์ขึ้นไปสู่ท้องฟ้า”
11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12แล้วพวกเขาก็กลับไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็มจากภูเขาที่เรียกว่ามะกอกเทศ ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ห่างออกไปเป็นระยะทางที่เดินได้ในวันสะบาโต
12Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14คนเหล่านี้ทุกคนพร้อมใจกันอธิษฐานและวิงวอนอย่างสม่ำเสมอ พร้อมกับบรรดาสตรี มารีย์มารดาของพระเยซู และพี่น้องชายของพระองค์
14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15ในช่วงวันเหล่านั้น เปโตรยืนขึ้นท่ามกลางเหล่าสาวก ซึ่งมีอยู่ประมาณหนึ่งร้อยยี่สิบคน และกล่าวว่า
15¶ And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16“พี่น้อง พระคัมภีร์ข้อนี้จำเป็นต้องสำเร็จตามที่พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ได้กล่าวไว้ล่วงหน้าโดยปากของดาวิดเกี่ยวกับยูดาส ผู้เป็นคนนำทางคนที่มาจับพระเยซู
16Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17เพราะเขาถูกนับรวมอยู่กับพวกเรา และได้รับส่วนในพันธกิจนี้
17For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18ชายคนนี้ได้ที่ดินผืนหนึ่งมาด้วยค่าตอบแทนจากความชั่วของเขา แล้วเขาก็ล้มคะมำ ร่างกายแตกออกและไส้ทั้งหมดทะลักออกมา
18Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19ทุกคนที่อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มรู้เรื่องนี้ จึงเรียกที่ดินผืนนั้นในภาษาของพวกเขาว่า ‘อาเคลดามา’ ซึ่งหมายถึง ‘ทุ่งเลือด’
19And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20เพราะมีเขียนไว้ในหนังสือสดุดีว่า ‘ขอให้ที่อยู่อาศัยของเขารกร้าง อย่าให้มีใครอาศัยอยู่ในนั้น’ และ ‘ให้อีกคนหนึ่งรับตำแหน่งหน้าที่ของเขา’
20For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
21“เพราะฉะนั้น ในบรรดาคนที่อยู่กับพวกเราตลอดเวลาที่องค์พระเยซูไปมากับพวกเรา
21Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22ตั้งแต่บัพติศมาของยอห์นจนถึงวันที่พระองค์ถูกรับขึ้นไปจากพวกเรา จะต้องมีคนหนึ่งจากคนเหล่านี้มาเป็นพยานร่วมกับพวกเราถึงการฟื้นขึ้นจากความตายของพระองค์”
22Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23พวกเขาจึงเสนอชื่อสองคน คือโยเซฟที่เรียกว่าบารซับบัส ซึ่งมีอีกชื่อหนึ่งว่ายูสทัส และมัทธีอัส
23And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24แล้วพวกเขาอธิษฐานว่า “องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระองค์ผู้ทราบจิตใจของทุกคน โปรดแสดงให้พวกเรารู้ว่าพระองค์เลือกคนใดในสองคนนี้
24And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men , shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25ให้รับส่วนในพันธกิจและการเป็นอัครทูตนี้ ซึ่งยูดาสได้ละทิ้งไปเพื่อไปยังที่ของเขาเอง”
25That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

26And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
