1คำจากพระยาห์เวห์ที่มาถึงเยเรมีย์ผู้เผยพระวจนะเกี่ยวกับชนชาติทั้งหลาย
1The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
2เกี่ยวกับอียิปต์ คือกองทัพของฟาโรห์เนโค กษัตริย์อียิปต์ ที่อยู่ริมแม่น้ำยูเฟรทีสในคาร์เคมิช ซึ่งเนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์บาบิโลน ตีในปีที่สี่แห่งรัชกาลเยโฮยาคิม บุตรโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์ยูดาห์
2Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh-necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
3“จงเตรียมโล่เล็กและโล่ใหญ่ เข้าสู่การรบ!
3Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
4จงเทียมม้า พลม้าทั้งหลาย จงขึ้นม้า สวมหมวกเกราะและยืนประจำที่ ขัดหอกให้เงา สวมเสื้อเกราะถัก
4Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.
5ทำไมเราจึงเห็นอย่างนี้? พวกเขาหวาดหวั่นและหันหลังกลับ นักรบผู้เก่งกล้าของพวกเขาถูกตีล้ม รีบหนีไป ไม่มองกลับมา ความหวาดกลัวอยู่ทุกด้าน” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
5Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD .
6“อย่าให้คนวิ่งเร็วหนีไป หรือนักรบผู้เก่งกล้ารอดไปได้ ทางเหนือริมแม่น้ำยูเฟรทีส พวกเขาสะดุดและล้มลงแล้ว
6Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
7“ใครกันที่เอ่อขึ้นเหมือนแม่น้ำไนล์ เหมือนแม่น้ำที่น้ำซัดขึ้น?
7Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
8อียิปต์เอ่อขึ้นเหมือนแม่น้ำไนล์ เหมือนแม่น้ำที่น้ำซัดขึ้น เขาพูดว่า ‘ฉันจะเอ่อขึ้น จะท่วมแผ่นดิน จะทำลายเมืองและผู้คนที่อาศัยอยู่’
8Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
9ม้าทั้งหลาย จงยกขึ้นไป! รถรบทั้งหลาย จงบุกอย่างดุเดือด! ให้นักรบผู้เก่งกล้าออกไป ทั้งชาวคูชและชาวพูตที่ใช้โล่ และชาวลูดิมที่ใช้ธนูและน้าวสายธนู
9Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
10เพราะวันนั้นเป็นของพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ เป็นวันแห่งการแก้แค้น เพื่อพระองค์จะตอบโต้ศัตรู ดาบจะกลืนกินจนอิ่ม และดื่มเลือดของพวกเขาจนเต็มที่ เพราะพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ แห่งกองทัพ มีเครื่องบูชาในดินแดนทางเหนือริมแม่น้ำยูเฟรทีส
10For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
11จงขึ้นไปกิเลอาด เอายาสมานแผลมา ธิดาพรหมจารีแห่งอียิปต์ เจ้าใช้ยามากมายอย่างไร้ผล ไม่มีการรักษาให้เจ้า
11Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.
12ชนชาติทั้งหลายได้ยินถึงความอับอายของเจ้า แผ่นดินเต็มไปด้วยเสียงร้องของเจ้า เพราะนักรบผู้เก่งกล้าสะดุดนักรบผู้เก่งกล้า ทั้งคู่ล้มลงด้วยกัน”
12The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
13คำที่พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวกับเยเรมีย์ผู้เผยพระวจนะ เรื่องที่เนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์บาบิโลน จะมาตีดินแดนอียิปต์
13¶ The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.
14“จงประกาศในอียิปต์ แจ้งให้รู้ในมิกดล แจ้งให้รู้ในเมมฟิสและทาปานเหส บอกว่า ‘จงยืนขึ้นและเตรียมตัว เพราะดาบกลืนกินรอบตัวเจ้าแล้ว’
14Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.
15ทำไมผู้แข็งแกร่งของเจ้าจึงถูกกวาดไป? พวกเขายืนอยู่ไม่ได้ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ผลักพวกเขา
15Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
16พระองค์ทำให้หลายคนสะดุด จริงทีเดียว พวกเขาล้มทับกัน พวกเขาพูดว่า ‘ลุกขึ้น! ให้พวกเรากลับไปหาชนชาติของตน และแผ่นดินเกิดของพวกเรา หนีจากดาบที่กดขี่’
16He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
17พวกเขาร้องที่นั่นว่า ‘ฟาโรห์ กษัตริย์อียิปต์ มีแต่เสียงดัง เขาปล่อยให้เวลาที่กำหนดผ่านไป’
17They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
18“เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด” กษัตริย์กล่าว ผู้มีนามว่าพระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ “เขาจะมาแน่ เหมือนทาโบร์ท่ามกลางภูเขา และเหมือนคาร์เมลริมทะเล เขาจะมาเช่นนั้น
18As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
19ธิดาผู้พำนักในอียิปต์ จงจัดของเตรียมไปเป็นเชลย เพราะเมมฟิสจะรกร้าง จะถูกเผาหมด ไม่มีคนอาศัย
19O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
20“อียิปต์เป็นวัวสาวที่งดงามยิ่ง แต่ความพินาศจากทางเหนือมาแล้ว มาแล้ว
20Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.
21คนรับจ้างที่อยู่ท่ามกลางเธอก็เหมือนลูกวัวในคอก เพราะพวกเขาก็หันหลังกลับ หนีไปด้วยกัน พวกเขายืนอยู่ไม่ได้ เพราะวันแห่งหายนะมาถึงพวกเขาแล้ว เป็นเวลาที่พวกเขาจะถูกลงโทษ
21Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.

22The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.

23They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD , though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
24ธิดาแห่งอียิปต์จะผิดหวัง เธอจะถูกมอบไว้ในมือชนชาติทางเหนือ”
24The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
25พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล กล่าวดังนี้ “จงฟัง เราจะลงโทษอาโมนแห่งโน ฟาโรห์ และอียิปต์ พร้อมกับเทพเจ้าทั้งหลายและกษัตริย์ทั้งหลายของเธอ คือฟาโรห์และผู้ที่ไว้วางใจเขา
25The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:
26เราจะมอบพวกเขาไว้ในมือผู้ที่มุ่งเอาชีวิตพวกเขา ในมือเนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์บาบิโลน และในมือข้าราชบริพารของเขา หลังจากนั้นจะมีคนอาศัยอยู่เหมือนสมัยก่อน” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
26And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD .
27“แต่ยาโคบ ผู้รับใช้ของเรา อย่ากลัวเลย อิสราเอล อย่าหวาดหวั่น เพราะดูเถิด เราจะช่วยเจ้าจากที่ห่างไกล และช่วยลูกหลานเจ้าจากดินแดนที่พวกเขาเป็นเชลย ยาโคบจะกลับมา จะสงบและอยู่อย่างสบาย ไม่มีใครทำให้เขากลัว
27¶ But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
28ยาโคบ ผู้รับใช้ของเรา อย่ากลัวเลย” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว “เพราะเราอยู่กับเจ้า เราจะทำให้ทุกชนชาติที่เราขับไล่เจ้าไปอยู่สูญสิ้น แต่เราจะไม่ทำให้เจ้าสูญสิ้น เราจะลงโทษแก้ไขเจ้าตามสมควร และจะไม่ปล่อยให้เจ้าพ้นโทษเป็นอันขาด”
28Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD : for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
