1Een psalm van David. Aan Jahweh behoort de aarde, met wat ze bevat, De wereld en die er op wonen;
1The earth is the LORD’s , and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2Want Hij heeft ze op de zeeën gegrond, En geplant op de stromen.
2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3Wie mag de berg van Jahweh bestijgen, Wie zijn heilige stede betreden?
3Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD ? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4Die rein is van handen, en zuiver van hart; In wiens ziel geen bedrog is, en die geen valse eden zweert.
4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5Hij zal zegen van Jahweh ontvangen, En loon van den God van zijn heil:
5He shall receive the blessing from the LORD , and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6Die behoort tot hen, die Jahweh vereren, En het aangezicht zoeken van Jakobs God.
6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
7Poorten, heft uw kroonlijsten op; Eeuwige posten, rekt u omhoog: De Koning der glorie gaat binnen!
7Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8Wie is de Koning der glorie? Jahweh, krachtig en sterk, Jahweh, de held in de strijd!
8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9Poorten, heft uw kroonlijsten op; Eeuwige posten, rekt u omhoog: De Koning der glorie gaat binnen!
9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10Wie is de Koning der glorie? Jahweh der heirscharen Is de Koning der glorie!
10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
