1Jahweh is Koning: de volkeren rillen; Hij troont op de Cherubs: de aarde beeft.
1The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
2Jahweh is groot op de Sion, Hoog boven alle volkeren verheven;
2The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
3Ze prijzen uw grote, ontzaglijke Naam: Hij is heilig en machtig!
3Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
4Gij zijt een Koning, die de gerechtigheid liefhebt, Gij handhaaft het recht; Recht en gerechtigheid hebt Gij in Jakob gegrond.
4The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
5Prijst dan Jahweh, onzen God, En werpt u neer voor zijn voetbank: Want heilig is Jahweh, onze God!
5Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
6Een Moses en Aäron waren onder zijn priesters, Een Samuël onder de belijders van zijn Naam: Ze riepen tot Jahweh, en Hij heeft ze verhoord,
6Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD , and he answered them.
7En in een wolkkolom tot hen gesproken. Ze hadden zijn geboden volbracht, De wet, die Hij hun had gegeven:
7He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
8Daarom hebt Gij, Jahweh, onze God, hen verhoord; Gij waart hun een God, die vergiffenis schonk, En hun daden niet strafte.
8Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
9Prijst dan Jahweh, onzen God, En werpt u neer voor zijn heilige berg: Want heilig is Jahweh, onze God!
9Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.
