1BOOK IV A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, Thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.
1MAI N , kom me kotin nekid pat ja n eu kainok o n eu.
2Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God.
2Mon nana kan o jappa, o aude pan jappa a wiauiada, Kot kotin mia, ja n maj kokodo o pil kokolata joutuk, Mai n Kot.
3Thou turnest man to contrition; and sayest: 'Return, ye children of men.'
3Kom kin kotin kapurela n pwel par aramaj akan o kotin mamajani: Puredo komail aramaj akan.
4For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
4Pwe par kid dueta aio me jamalar mon jila n omui o rajo n majamajan eu ni po n .
5Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
5Kom kin kotin kapwil irail wei, re rajo n mair, dueata ra, me kin mo n edi mada n .
6In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
6Me kin majel pajan ni manjan, a ni joutik a pan palepaledi o monedi.
7For we are consumed in Thine anger, and by Thy wrath are we hurried away.
7Omui o n io n me je kin jojore kidi, o omui o n io n melel, me je kin mekila mada n .
8Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance.
8Pwe kom kotin kajanjale on pein komui dip at akan, o dip at rir akan nan marain en jila n omui.
9For all our days are passed away in Thy wrath; we bring our years to an end as a tale that is told.
9I me at ran akan karoj kin ta n weiki omui o n io n , at par akan rajo n kajoi pot.
10The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but travail and vanity; for it is speedily gone, and we fly away.
10Warain at mour me jaunpar ijeijok, a ma re toto, a pan waleijok, a ma me kajampwal, a pan apwal o dodok. Pwe a kin ta n wei mada n , dueta kit kin pir wei.
11Who knoweth the power of Thine anger, and Thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto Thee?
11A ij me kak dedeki mana en omui o n io n , o ij me kin majak o n io n wet?
12So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.
12Kom kotin padaki o n kit, me kit pan mela, pwe jen loleko n kila.
13Return, O LORD; how long? And let it repent Thee concerning Thy servants.
13Mai n Ieowa, kom kotin puro n wukedoke do n kit; arai da omui o n io n ? Kom kotin maki o n japwilim omui ladu kan!
14O satisfy us in the morning with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
14Kom kotin kadire kin kit ala ar kala n an ni manjan, kit ap pan kapi n o pereperen arain at maur.
15Make us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, according to the years wherein we have seen evil.
15Kom kotin kaperen kit da murin at kalokoloker, o murin at kamekam warai.
16Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory upon their children.
16Kom kotin kajale o n japwilim omui ladu kanomui wiawia kan o omui wau o n na jeri kan.
17And let the graciousness of the Lord our God be upon us; establish Thou also upon us the work of our hands; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.
17leowa at Kot, en kala n an do n kit o kotin kapwaiada dodok en pa at akan re at; ei kom kotin kapwaiada dodok en pa at akan!
