1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
1คำจากพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงเยเรมีย์ในสมัยเยโฮยาคิม บุตรโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์ยูดาห์ว่า
2'Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.'
2“จงไปหาตระกูลเรคาบ พูดกับพวกเขา และนำพวกเขาเข้ามาในพระนิเวศของพระยาห์เวห์ ในห้องหนึ่ง แล้วให้เหล้าองุ่นพวกเขาดื่ม”
3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
3ข้าพเจ้าจึงพายาอาซันยาห์ บุตรเยเรมีย์ บุตรฮาบัสซินยาห์ พร้อมกับพี่น้องของเขา ลูกชายทั้งหมดของเขา และตระกูลเรคาบทั้งหมด
4and I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door;
4เข้ามาในพระนิเวศของพระยาห์เวห์ ในห้องของบุตรฮานัน บุตรอิกดาลยาห์ คนของพระเจ้า ห้องนั้นอยู่ข้างห้องของขุนนาง เหนือห้องของมาอาเสยาห์ บุตรชัลลูม ผู้เฝ้าธรณีประตู
5and I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites goblets full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them: 'Drink ye wine.'
5ข้าพเจ้าตั้งชามที่เต็มไปด้วยเหล้าองุ่นและถ้วยไว้ตรงหน้าบุตรของตระกูลเรคาบ แล้วบอกพวกเขาว่า “จงดื่มเหล้าองุ่น!”
6But they said: 'We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying: Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons, for ever;
6แต่พวกเขาบอกว่า “พวกเราจะไม่ดื่มเหล้าองุ่น เพราะโยนาดับ บุตรเรคาบ บรรพบุรุษของพวกเรา สั่งพวกเราว่า ‘พวกเจ้าและลูกหลานของพวกเจ้าต้องไม่ดื่มเหล้าองุ่นตลอดไป
7neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days ye shall dwell in tents, that ye may live many days in the land wherein ye sojourn.
7พวกเจ้าต้องไม่สร้างบ้าน ไม่หว่านเมล็ด ไม่ปลูกสวนองุ่น และไม่ครอบครองสวนองุ่น แต่ต้องอยู่ในกระโจมตลอดชีวิต เพื่อพวกเจ้าจะมีชีวิตอยู่นานในดินแดนที่พวกเจ้าเร่ร่อนอาศัยอยู่’
8And we have hearkened to the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
8พวกเราเชื่อฟังเสียงโยนาดับ บุตรเรคาบ บรรพบุรุษของพวกเรา ในทุกสิ่งที่เขาสั่ง โดยไม่ดื่มเหล้าองุ่นตลอดชีวิต ทั้งพวกเรา ภรรยา ลูกชายและลูกสาวของพวกเรา
9nor to build houses for us to dwell in, neither to have vineyard, or field, or seed;
9และไม่สร้างบ้านให้ตัวเองอยู่ พวกเราไม่มีสวนองุ่น ที่นา หรือเมล็ดพันธุ์
10but we have dwelt in tents, and have hearkened, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
10แต่พวกเราอยู่ในกระโจม เชื่อฟังและทำตามทุกสิ่งที่โยนาดับ บรรพบุรุษของพวกเรา สั่งไว้
11But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, that we said: Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Arameans; so we dwell at Jerusalem.'
11แต่เมื่อเนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์บาบิโลน ยกเข้ามาในดินแดน พวกเราพูดว่า ‘มาเถอะ! ให้พวกเราไปเยรูซาเล็ม เพราะกลัวกองทัพชาวเคลเดียและกองทัพชาวซีเรีย พวกเราจึงจะอยู่ที่เยรูซาเล็ม’”
12Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying:
12แล้วคำจากพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงเยเรมีย์ว่า
13'Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to My words? saith the LORD.
13“พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล กล่าวดังนี้ ‘จงไปบอกชาวยูดาห์และผู้คนที่อาศัยอยู่ในเยรูซาเล็มว่า “พวกเจ้าจะไม่รับคำสั่งสอนเพื่อฟังถ้อยคำของเราหรือ?” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed, and unto this day they drink none, for they hearken to their father's commandment; but I have spoken unto you, speaking betimes and often, and ye have not hearkened unto Me.
14“ลูกชายของโยนาดับ บุตรเรคาบ ทำตามคำที่เขาสั่งไว้ว่าอย่าดื่มเหล้าองุ่น จนถึงวันนี้พวกเขาก็ไม่ดื่ม เพราะเชื่อฟังคำสั่งของบรรพบุรุษ แต่เราพูดกับพวกเจ้า ตื่นแต่เช้าและพูดครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า พวกเจ้าก็ไม่ฟังเรา
15I have sent also unto you all My servants the prophets, sending them betimes and often, saying: Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto Me.
15เราส่งผู้เผยพระวจนะ ผู้รับใช้ของเราทุกคน มาหาพวกเจ้าด้วย เราตื่นแต่เช้าและส่งพวกเขามาครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า บอกว่า ‘แต่ละคนในพวกเจ้าต้องหันกลับจากทางชั่วของตนเดี๋ยวนี้ แก้ไขการกระทำ อย่าตามเทพเจ้าอื่นไปปรนนิบัติ แล้วพวกเจ้าจะได้อาศัยอยู่ในดินแดนที่เรามอบแก่พวกเจ้าและบรรพบุรุษ’ แต่พวกเจ้าไม่เงี่ยหูและไม่ฟังเรา
16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people hath not hearkened unto Me;
16ลูกหลานโยนาดับ บุตรเรคาบ ทำตามคำสั่งที่บรรพบุรุษสั่งพวกเขา แต่ประชาชนนี้ไม่ฟังเรา”’
17therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard, and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.'
17“ดังนั้นพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าแห่งกองทัพ พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล จึงกล่าวดังนี้ ‘จงฟัง เราจะนำภัยร้ายทั้งหมดที่เราประกาศต่อยูดาห์และทุกคนที่อาศัยอยู่ในเยรูซาเล็มมาสู่พวกเขา เพราะเราพูดกับพวกเขา แต่พวกเขาไม่ฟัง เราร้องเรียกพวกเขา แต่พวกเขาไม่ตอบ’”
18And unto the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Because ye have hearkened to the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he commanded you;
18เยเรมีย์กล่าวกับตระกูลเรคาบว่า “พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล กล่าวดังนี้ ‘เพราะพวกเจ้าเชื่อฟังคำสั่งของโยนาดับ บรรพบุรุษของพวกเจ้า รักษาข้อกำหนดทั้งหมดของเขา และทำตามทุกสิ่งที่เขาสั่ง’
19therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: There shall not be cut off unto Jonadab the son of Rechab a man to stand before Me for ever.'
19ดังนั้นพระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล จึงกล่าวดังนี้ ‘โยนาดับ บุตรเรคาบ จะไม่ขาดคนมายืนต่อหน้าเราตลอดไป’”
