1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
1當 猶大 王 約西亞 之子 約雅敬 的時候，耶和華的話臨到 耶利米 說：
2'Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.'
2「你去見 利甲 族的人，和他們說話，領他們進入耶和華殿的一間屋子，給他們酒喝。」
3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
3我就將 哈巴洗尼雅 的孫子 雅利米雅 的兒子 雅撒尼亞 和他弟兄，並他眾子，以及 利甲 全族的人，
4and I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door;
4領到耶和華的殿，進入神人 伊基大利 的兒子 哈難 眾子的屋子。那屋子在首領的屋子旁邊，在 沙龍 之子把門的 瑪西雅 屋子以上。
5and I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites goblets full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them: 'Drink ye wine.'
5於是我在 利甲 族人面前設擺盛滿酒的碗和杯，對他們說：「請你們喝酒。」
6But they said: 'We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying: Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons, for ever;
6他們卻說：「我們不喝酒；因為我們先祖 利甲 的兒子 約拿達 曾吩咐我們說：『你們與你們的子孫永不可喝酒，
7neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days ye shall dwell in tents, that ye may live many days in the land wherein ye sojourn.
7也不可蓋房、撒種、栽種葡萄園，但一生的年日要住帳棚，使你們的日子在寄居之地得以延長。』
8And we have hearkened to the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
8凡我們先祖 利甲 的兒子 約拿達 所吩咐我們的話，我們都聽從了。我們和我們的妻子兒女一生的年日都不喝酒，
9nor to build houses for us to dwell in, neither to have vineyard, or field, or seed;
9也不蓋房居住，也沒有葡萄園、田地，和種子，
10but we have dwelt in tents, and have hearkened, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
10但住帳棚，聽從我們先祖 約拿達 的話，照他所吩咐我們的去行。
11But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, that we said: Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Arameans; so we dwell at Jerusalem.'
11巴比倫 王 尼布甲尼撒 上此地來，我們因怕 迦勒底 的軍隊和 亞蘭 的軍隊，就說：『來吧，我們到 耶路撒冷 去。』這樣，我們才住在 耶路撒冷 。」
12Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying:
12耶和華的話臨到 耶利米 說：
13'Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to My words? saith the LORD.
13「萬軍之耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說：你去對 猶大 人和 耶路撒冷 的居民說，耶和華說：你們不受教訓，不聽從我的話嗎？
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed, and unto this day they drink none, for they hearken to their father's commandment; but I have spoken unto you, speaking betimes and often, and ye have not hearkened unto Me.
14利甲 的兒子 約拿達 所吩咐他子孫不可喝酒的話，他們已經遵守，直到今日也不喝酒，因為他們聽從先祖的吩咐。我從早起來警戒你們，你們卻不聽從我。
15I have sent also unto you all My servants the prophets, sending them betimes and often, saying: Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto Me.
15我從早起來，差遣我的僕人眾先知去，說：『你們各人當回頭，離開惡道，改正行為，不隨從事奉別神，就必住在我所賜給你們和你們列祖的地上。』只是你們沒有聽從我，也沒有側耳而聽。
16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people hath not hearkened unto Me;
16利甲 的兒子 約拿達 的子孫能遵守先人所吩咐他們的命，這百姓卻沒有聽從我！
17therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard, and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.'
17因此，耶和華－萬軍之上帝、 以色列 的上帝如此說：我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到 猶大 人和 耶路撒冷 的一切居民。因為我對他們說話，他們沒有聽從；我呼喚他們，他們沒有答應。」
18And unto the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Because ye have hearkened to the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he commanded you;
18耶利米 對 利甲 族的人說：「萬軍之耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說：因你們聽從你們先祖 約拿達 的吩咐，謹守他的一切誡命，照他所吩咐你們的去行，
19therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: There shall not be cut off unto Jonadab the son of Rechab a man to stand before Me for ever.'
19所以萬軍之耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說： 利甲 的兒子 約拿達 必永不缺人侍立在我面前。」
