1Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and one of the chief officers of the king, and ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.
1七月間，王的大臣宗室 以利沙瑪 的孫子、 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 帶着十個人，來到 米斯巴 見 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 。他們在 米斯巴 一同吃飯。
2Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
2尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 和同他來的那十個人起來，用刀殺了 沙番 的孫子 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 ，就是 巴比倫 王所立為全地省長的。
3Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, even the men of war.
3以實瑪利 又殺了在 米斯巴 、 基大利 那裏的一切 猶大 人和所遇見的 迦勒底 兵丁。
4And it came to pass the second day after he had slain Gedaliah, and no man knew it,

5that there came certain men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with meal-offerings and frankincense in their hand to bring them to the house of the LORD.
5第二天，有八十人從 示劍 和 示羅 ，並 撒馬利亞 來，鬍鬚剃去，衣服撕裂，身體劃破，手拿素祭和乳香，要奉到耶和華的殿。
6And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went; and it came to pass, as he met them, he said unto them: 'Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.'
6尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 出 米斯巴 迎接他們，隨走隨哭；遇見了他們，就對他們說：「你們可以來見 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 。」
7And it was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he, and the men that were with him.
7他們到了城中， 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 和同着他的人就將他們殺了，拋在坑中。
8But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael: 'Slay us not; for we have stores hidden in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey.' So he forbore, and slew them not among their brethren.
8只是他們中間有十個人對 以實瑪利 說：「不要殺我們，因為我們有許多大麥、小麥、油、蜜藏在田間。」於是他住了手，沒有將他們殺在弟兄中間。
9Now the pit wherein Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had slain by the side of Gedaliah was that which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasa king of Israel; the same Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled with them that were slain.
9以實瑪利 將所殺之人的屍首都拋在坑裏 基大利 的旁邊；這坑是從前 亞撒 王因怕 以色列 王 巴沙 所挖的。 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 將那些被殺的人填滿了坑。
10Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.
10以實瑪利 將 米斯巴 剩下的人，就是眾公主和仍住在 米斯巴 所有的百姓，原是護衛長 尼布撒拉旦 交給 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 的，都擄去了。 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 擄了他們，要往 亞捫 人那裏去。
11But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,
11加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 和同着他的眾軍長聽見 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 所行的一切惡，
12then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.
12就帶領眾人前往，要和 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 爭戰，在 基遍 的大水旁遇見他。
13Now it came to pass, that when all the people that were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, then they were glad.
13以實瑪利 那裏的眾人看見 加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 和同着他的眾軍長，就都歡喜。
14So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah cast about and returned, and went unto Johanan the son of Kareah.
14這樣， 以實瑪利 從 米斯巴 所擄去的眾人都轉身歸 加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 去了。
15But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.
15尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 和八個人脫離 約哈難 的手 ，逃往 亞捫 人那裏去了。
16Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the men, even the men of war, and the women, and the children, and the officers, whom he had brought back from Gibeon;
16尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 殺了 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 ，從 米斯巴 將剩下的一切百姓、兵丁、婦女、孩童、太監擄到 基遍 之後， 加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 和同着他的眾軍長將他們都奪回來，
17and they departed, and dwelt in Geruth Chimham, which is by Beth-lehem, to go to enter into Egypt,
17帶到靠近 伯利恆 的 金罕寓 住下，要進入 埃及 去；
18because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the land.
18因為 尼探雅 的兒子 以實瑪利 殺了 巴比倫 王所立為省長的 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 ， 約哈難 懼怕 迦勒底 人。
