1Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in Leb-kamai, a destroying wind.
1พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวดังนี้ “จงฟัง เราจะให้ลมทำลายลุกขึ้นต่อสู้กับบาบิโลน และผู้คนที่อาศัยอยู่ในเลบคามัย
2And I will send unto Babylon strangers, that shall fan her, and they shall empty her land; for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.
2เราจะส่งคนต่างถิ่นมาบาบิโลน พวกเขาจะฝัดเธอ จะทำให้ดินแดนของเธอว่างเปล่า เพราะในวันทุกข์ยาก พวกเขาจะต่อสู้กับเธอรอบด้าน
3Let the archer bend his bow against her, and let him lift himself up against her in his coat of mail; and spare ye not her young men, destroy ye utterly all her host.

4And they shall fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and thrust through in her streets.

5For Israel is not widowed, nor Judah, of his God, of the LORD of hosts; for their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.

6Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and save every man his life, be not cut off in her iniquity; for it is the time of the LORD'S vengeance; He will render unto her a recompense.
6“จงหนีออกจากท่ามกลางบาบิโลน! แต่ละคนจงเอาชีวิตรอด! อย่าถูกกำจัดไปในความผิดของเธอ เพราะนี่คือเวลาแห่งการแก้แค้นของพระยาห์เวห์ พระองค์จะตอบแทนเธอ
7Babylon hath been a golden cup in LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken; the nations have drunk of her wine, therefore the nations are mad.
7บาบิโลนเป็นถ้วยทองในมือพระยาห์เวห์ ที่ทำให้ทั้งแผ่นดินเมา ชนชาติทั้งหลายดื่มเหล้าองุ่นของเธอ ชนชาติทั้งหลายจึงเสียสติ
8Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed, wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
8บาบิโลนล้มลงและถูกทำลายทันที! จงคร่ำครวญให้เธอ! เอายาสมานแผลมารักษาความเจ็บปวดของเธอ บางทีเธออาจหาย
9We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed; forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country; for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
9“พวกเราจะรักษาบาบิโลนให้หาย แต่เธอไม่หาย จงทิ้งเธอ ให้พวกเราแต่ละคนกลับดินแดนของตน เพราะการพิพากษาเธอไปถึงสวรรค์ สูงขึ้นถึงท้องฟ้า
10The LORD hath brought forth our victory; come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.
10‘พระยาห์เวห์นำความเที่ยงธรรมของพวกเราออกมาแล้ว มาเถอะ ให้พวกเราประกาศในศิโยนถึงงานของพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกเรา’
11Make bright the arrows, fill the quivers, the LORD hath roused the spirit of the kings of the Medes; because His device is against Babylon, to destroy it; for it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of His temple.
11“จงลับลูกธนู! ถือโล่ให้มั่น! พระยาห์เวห์ปลุกเร้าจิตใจของกษัตริย์ชาวมีเดีย เพราะพระองค์ตั้งใจต่อต้านบาบิโลนเพื่อทำลายเมืองนั้น เพราะนี่คือการแก้แค้นของพระยาห์เวห์ การแก้แค้นให้พระนิเวศของพระองค์
12Set up a standard against the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set the watchmen, prepare the ambushes; for the LORD hath both devised and done that which He spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.
12จงชูธงต่อสู้กับกำแพงบาบิโลน! ให้การเฝ้ายามเข้มแข็ง! ตั้งคนเฝ้ายาม เตรียมที่ซุ่มโจมตี เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทั้งตั้งใจและทำแล้ว ตามที่พระองค์กล่าวถึงผู้คนที่อาศัยในบาบิโลน
13O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, the measure of thy covetousness.
13เจ้าผู้อาศัยอยู่ริมแหล่งน้ำมากมาย มีทรัพย์สมบัติอุดม จุดจบของเจ้ามาถึงแล้ว ขีดสุดของความโลภของเจ้า
14The LORD of hosts hath sworn by Himself: Surely I will fill thee with men, as with the canker-worm, and they shall lift up a shout against thee.
14พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพสาบานด้วยตัวพระองค์เองว่า ‘เราจะให้คนเต็มเจ้าแน่ เหมือนตั๊กแตน พวกเขาจะโห่ร้องต่อสู้กับเจ้า’
15He that hath made the earth by His power, that hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His discernment;
15“พระองค์สร้างแผ่นดินด้วยกำลังของพระองค์ ตั้งโลกให้มั่นด้วยปัญญาของพระองค์ ขึงฟ้าสวรรค์ด้วยความเข้าใจของพระองค์
16At the sound of His giving a multitude of waters in the heavens, He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings at the time of the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of His treasuries;
16เมื่อพระองค์เปล่งเสียง น้ำในฟ้าสวรรค์คำราม พระองค์ทำให้ไอน้ำลอยขึ้นจากสุดปลายแผ่นดิน ทำให้มีสายฟ้าสำหรับฝน และนำลมออกจากคลังของพระองค์
17Every man is proved to be brutish, for the knowledge — every goldsmith is put to shame by the graven image — that his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
17“ทุกคนกลายเป็นคนโง่ ไม่มีความรู้ ช่างทองทุกคนผิดหวังเพราะรูปเคารพของตน เพราะรูปหล่อของเขาเป็นสิ่งเท็จ ไม่มีลมหายใจในนั้น
18They are vanity, a work of delusion; in the time of their visitation they shall perish,
18พวกมันไร้ค่า เป็นงานลวงตา เมื่อถึงเวลาลงโทษ พวกมันจะพินาศ
19The portion of Jacob is not like these; for He is the former of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; the LORD of hosts is His name.
19ผู้เป็นส่วนของยาโคบไม่เหมือนสิ่งเหล่านี้ เพราะพระองค์สร้างทุกสิ่ง รวมทั้งเผ่าที่เป็นมรดกของพระองค์ พระองค์มีนามว่าพระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ
20Thou art My maul and weapons of war, and with thee will I shatter the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;
20“เจ้าเป็นขวานรบและอาวุธสงครามของเรา เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบชนชาติทั้งหลายให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ เราจะใช้เจ้าทำลายอาณาจักร
21And with thee will I shatter the horse and his rider, and with thee will I shatter the chariot and him that rideth therein;
21เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งม้าและคนขี่
22And with thee will I shatter man and woman, and with thee will I shatter the old man and the youth, and with thee will I shatter the young man and the maid;
22เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งรถรบและคนที่นั่งในนั้น เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งผู้ชายและผู้หญิง เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งคนแก่และคนเยาว์วัย เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งชายหนุ่มและสาวพรหมจารี
23And with thee will I shatter the shepherd and his flock, and with thee will I shatter the husbandman and his yoke of oxen, and with thee will I shatter governors and deputies.
23เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งผู้เลี้ยงแกะและฝูงของเขา เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งชาวนาและแอกของเขา เราจะใช้เจ้าทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้น ๆ ทั้งผู้ปกครองและผู้แทน
24And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion, in your sight; saith the LORD.
24“เราจะตอบแทนบาบิโลนและทุกคนที่อาศัยในเคลเดีย ตามความชั่วทั้งหมดที่พวกเขาทำในศิโยนต่อหน้าพวกเจ้า” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
25Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth; and I will stretch out My hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
25“จงฟัง เราต่อต้านเจ้า ภูเขาผู้ทำลาย” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว “ผู้ทำลายทั้งแผ่นดิน เราจะยื่นมือมาต่อสู้กับเจ้า กลิ้งเจ้าลงจากหินผา และทำให้เจ้าเป็นภูเขาที่ถูกเผา
26And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the LORD.
26พวกเขาจะไม่เอาหินมุมจากเจ้า หรือหินสำหรับวางรากฐาน แต่เจ้าจะรกร้างตลอดไป” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
27Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the horn among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; appoint a marshal against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough canker-worm.
27“จงชูธงในดินแดน! เป่าแตรท่ามกลางชนชาติทั้งหลาย! เตรียมชนชาติทั้งหลายต่อสู้กับเธอ! เรียกอาณาจักรอารารัต มินนี และอัชเคนัส มารวมกันต่อสู้กับเธอ! ตั้งแม่ทัพต่อสู้กับเธอ! ให้ม้ายกขึ้นมาเหมือนตั๊กแตนเป็นฝูง!
28Prepare against her the nations, the kings of the Medes, the governors thereof, and all the deputies thereof, and all the land of his dominion.
28เตรียมชนชาติทั้งหลายต่อสู้กับเธอ ทั้งกษัตริย์ชาวมีเดีย ผู้ปกครอง ผู้แทนทั้งหมด และดินแดนทั้งหมดที่อยู่ใต้อำนาจของพวกเขา!
29And the land quaketh and is in pain; for the purposes of the LORD are performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation, without inhabitant.
29แผ่นดินสั่นและเจ็บปวด เพราะสิ่งที่พระยาห์เวห์ตั้งใจทำต่อบาบิโลนตั้งมั่น เพื่อทำให้ดินแดนบาบิโลนรกร้างไม่มีคนอาศัย
30The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they remain in their strongholds; their might hath failed, they are become as women; her dwelling-places are set on fire; her bars are broken.
30นักรบผู้เก่งกล้าของบาบิโลนหยุดต่อสู้ อยู่ในป้อมปราการของตน กำลังของพวกเขาหมดไป พวกเขากลายเป็นเหมือนผู้หญิง ที่อยู่ของเธอถูกจุดไฟ ดาลของเธอถูกหัก
31One post runneth to meet another, and one messenger to meet an other, to tell the king of Babylon that his city is taken on every quarter;
31คนวิ่งส่งข่าวคนหนึ่งจะวิ่งไปพบอีกคน ผู้ส่งสารคนหนึ่งจะไปพบอีกคน เพื่อแจ้งกษัตริย์บาบิโลนว่าเมืองของเขาถูกยึดทุกด้านแล้ว
32And the fords are seized, and the castles they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.
32ทางข้ามถูกยึด พวกเขาเผาต้นอ้อด้วยไฟ นักรบหวาดกลัว”
33For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing-floor at the time when it is trodden; yet a little while, and the time of harvest shall come for her.
33เพราะพระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ พระเจ้าของอิสราเอล กล่าวดังนี้ “ธิดาแห่งบาบิโลนเป็นเหมือนลานนวดข้าวในเวลาที่ถูกย่ำ อีกเพียงไม่นาน เวลาเก็บเกี่ยวของเธอจะมาถึง”
34Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath set me down as an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his maw with my delicacies; he hath washed me clean.
34“เนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์บาบิโลน กลืนกินฉันแล้ว เขาบดขยี้ฉัน ทำให้ฉันเป็นภาชนะว่างเปล่า เขากลืนฉันเหมือนสัตว์ประหลาด เขาเอาอาหารเลิศรสของฉันใส่ปากของตนจนเต็ม แล้วทิ้งฉัน
35'The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon', shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and: 'My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea', shall Jerusalem say.
35ขอให้ความรุนแรงที่ทำต่อฉันและเนื้อหนังของฉันตกแก่บาบิโลน!” ผู้อาศัยในศิโยนจะกล่าว และ “ขอให้เลือดของฉันตกแก่ผู้คนที่อาศัยในเคลเดีย!” เยรูซาเล็มจะกล่าว
36Therefore thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.
36ดังนั้นพระยาห์เวห์จึงกล่าวดังนี้ “จงฟัง เราจะสู้คดีให้เจ้า และแก้แค้นให้เจ้า เราจะทำให้ทะเลของเธอแห้ง และทำให้น้ำพุของเธอแห้งไป
37And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling-place for jackals, an astonishment, and a hissing, without inhabitant.
37บาบิโลนจะกลายเป็นกองซาก เป็นที่อยู่ของหมาจิ้งจอก เป็นที่น่าตกตะลึงและเป็นที่เย้ยหยัน ไม่มีคนอาศัย
38They shall roar together like young lions; they shall growl as lions' whelps.
38พวกเขาจะคำรามด้วยกันเหมือนสิงโตหนุ่ม จะส่งเสียงขู่เหมือนลูกสิงโต
39With their poison I will prepare their feast, and I will make them drunken, that they may be convulsed, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD.
39เมื่อพวกเขาร้อนรุ่ม เราจะจัดงานเลี้ยงให้ จะทำให้พวกเขาเมา เพื่อพวกเขาจะรื่นเริง และหลับตลอดไป ไม่ตื่นขึ้น” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
40I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he-goats.

41How is Sheshach taken! and the praise of the whole earth seized! How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
41“เชชัคถูกยึดเสียแล้ว! ผู้ที่ทั้งแผ่นดินสรรเสริญถูกจับเสียแล้ว! บาบิโลนกลายเป็นที่รกร้างท่ามกลางชนชาติทั้งหลายเสียแล้ว!
42The sea is come up upon Babylon; she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
42ทะเลเอ่อขึ้นท่วมบาบิโลน เธอถูกคลื่นมากมายปกคลุม
43Her cities are become a desolation, a dry land, and a desert, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
43เมืองของเธอรกร้าง เป็นดินแดนแห้งแล้งและทะเลทราย ดินแดนที่ไม่มีใครอาศัย ไม่มีมนุษย์คนใดผ่านไป
44And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up, and the nations shall not flow any more unto him; yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
44เราจะพิพากษาเบลในบาบิโลน จะนำสิ่งที่เขากลืนออกจากปากเขา ชนชาติทั้งหลายจะไม่หลั่งไหลไปหาเขาอีก จริงทีเดียว กำแพงบาบิโลนจะล้ม
45My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and save yourselves every man from the fierce anger of the LORD.
45“ประชาชนของเรา จงออกจากท่ามกลางเธอ แต่ละคนจงเอาชีวิตรอดจากความโกรธเกรี้ยวของพระยาห์เวห์
46And let not your heart faint, neither fear ye, for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; for a rumour shall come one year, and after that in another year a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
46อย่าให้ใจพวกเจ้าอ่อนล้า อย่ากลัวข่าวที่จะได้ยินในดินแดน เพราะปีหนึ่งจะมีข่าวมา หลังจากนั้นอีกปีหนึ่งจะมีข่าวมา และมีความรุนแรงในดินแดน ผู้ปกครองต่อสู้กับผู้ปกครอง
47Therefore behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon, and her whole land shall be ashamed; and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
47ดังนั้นจงฟัง วันเวลานั้นกำลังมาถึง เราจะพิพากษารูปแกะสลักของบาบิโลน ดินแดนทั้งหมดของเธอจะสับสน ผู้ถูกฆ่าทั้งหมดจะล้มลงท่ามกลางเธอ
48Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for joy over Babylon; for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the LORD.
48แล้วฟ้าสวรรค์และแผ่นดิน และทุกสิ่งที่อยู่ในนั้น จะร้องเพลงด้วยความยินดีเหนือบาบิโลน เพราะผู้ทำลายจะมาหาเธอจากทางเหนือ” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
49As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the land.
49“บาบิโลนทำให้ผู้ถูกฆ่าของอิสราเอลล้มลงอย่างไร ผู้ถูกฆ่าจากทั้งดินแดนจะล้มลงที่บาบิโลนอย่างนั้น
50Ye that have escaped the sword, go ye, stand not still; remember the LORD from afar, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.
50พวกเจ้าที่รอดจากดาบ จงไป! อย่ายืนนิ่ง! จงระลึกถึงพระยาห์เวห์จากที่ห่างไกล และให้เยรูซาเล็มเข้ามาในความคิดของพวกเจ้า”
51'We are ashamed, because we have heard reproach, confusion hath covered our faces; for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD'S house.'
51“พวกเราสับสน เพราะได้ยินคำดูหมิ่น ความอับอายคลุมหน้าพวกเรา เพราะคนต่างถิ่นเข้ามาในสถานบริสุทธิ์ของพระนิเวศของพระยาห์เวห์”
52Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images; and through all her land the wounded shall groan.
52“ดังนั้นจงฟัง วันเวลานั้นกำลังมาถึง” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว “เราจะพิพากษารูปแกะสลักของเธอ คนบาดเจ็บจะคร่ำครวญทั่วทั้งดินแดน
53Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from Me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.
53แม้บาบิโลนขึ้นไปถึงท้องฟ้า แม้เธอสร้างป้อมบนที่สูงอันแข็งแรงของตน ผู้ทำลายก็จะมาหาเธอจากเรา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
54Hark! a cry from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans!
54“เสียงร้องมาจากบาบิโลน และเสียงความพินาศใหญ่หลวงมาจากดินแดนของชาวเคลเดีย!
55For the LORD spoileth Babylon, and destroyeth out of her the great voice; and their waves roar like many waters, the noise of their voice is uttered;
55เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทำให้บาบิโลนรกร้าง ทำลายเสียงดังของเธอให้หมดไป! คลื่นของพวกเขาคำรามเหมือนน้ำมากมาย ได้ยินเสียงกึกก้องของพวกเขา
56For the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, their bows are shattered; for the LORD is a God of recompenses, He will surely requite.
56เพราะผู้ทำลายมาหาเธอแล้ว มาหาบาบิโลน นักรบผู้เก่งกล้าของเธอถูกจับ ธนูของพวกเขาถูกหักเป็นชิ้น ๆ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์เป็นพระเจ้าแห่งการตอบแทน พระองค์จะตอบแทนแน่
57And I will make drunk her princes and her wise men, her governors and her deputies, and her mighty men; and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
57เราจะทำให้ขุนนางและคนมีปัญญาของเธอ ผู้ปกครอง ผู้แทน และนักรบผู้เก่งกล้าของเธอเมา พวกเขาจะหลับตลอดไป ไม่ตื่นขึ้น” กษัตริย์ผู้มีนามว่าพระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพกล่าว
58Thus saith the LORD of hosts: The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly overthrown, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the peoples shall labour for vanity, and the nations for the fire; and they shall be weary.
58พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพกล่าวดังนี้ “กำแพงกว้างของบาบิโลนจะถูกทำลายลงอย่างสิ้นเชิง ประตูสูงของเธอจะถูกเผาด้วยไฟ ประชาชนทั้งหลายจะทำงานเพื่อความว่างเปล่า ชนชาติทั้งหลายทำงานเพื่อไฟ แล้วพวกเขาจะเหนื่อยล้า”
59The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah to Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. Now Seraiah was quartermaster.

60And Jeremiah wrote in one book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written concerning Babylon.
60เยเรมีย์เขียนภัยร้ายทั้งหมดที่จะมาสู่บาบิโลนไว้ในหนังสือ คือถ้อยคำทั้งหมดนี้ที่เขียนเกี่ยวกับบาบิโลน
61And Jeremiah said to Seraiah: 'When thou comest to Babylon, then see that thou read all these words,
61เยเรมีย์บอกเสไรยาห์ว่า “เมื่อท่านไปถึงบาบิโลน จงแน่ใจว่าได้อ่านถ้อยคำทั้งหมดนี้
