1พระยาห์เวห์ พระองค์เที่ยงธรรม เมื่อข้าพเจ้ากล่าวโต้แย้งพระองค์ ถึงอย่างนั้น ข้าพเจ้าอยากสู้คดีกับพระองค์ ทำไมทางของคนชั่วจึงเจริญรุ่งเรือง? ทำไมคนทรยศอย่างหนักจึงอยู่สบายกันหมด?
1Right wouldest Thou be, O LORD, were I to contend with Thee, yet will I reason with Thee: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? Wherefore are all they secure that deal very treacherously?
2พระองค์ปลูกพวกเขา จริงทีเดียว พวกเขาหยั่งราก เติบโต จริงทีเดียว ออกผล พระองค์อยู่ใกล้ปากของพวกเขา แต่ไกลจากใจ
2Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root; they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit; Thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
3แต่พระยาห์เวห์ พระองค์รู้จักข้าพเจ้า เห็นข้าพเจ้า และทดสอบว่าใจข้าพเจ้ามีต่อพระองค์อย่างไร โปรดลากพวกเขาออกมาเหมือนแกะที่จะถูกฆ่า เตรียมพวกเขาไว้สำหรับวันฆ่าฟัน
3But Thou, O LORD, knowest me, Thou seest me, and triest my heart toward Thee; pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4แผ่นดินจะคร่ำครวญ และพืชทั่วแผ่นดินจะเหี่ยวอีกนานเท่าใด? เพราะความชั่วของผู้ที่อาศัยในนั้น สัตว์และนกจึงสูญสิ้น เพราะพวกเขาพูดว่า “พระองค์จะไม่เห็นจุดจบของพวกเรา”
4How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole field wither? For the wickedness of them that dwell therein, the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said: 'He seeth not our end.'
5“ถ้าเจ้าวิ่งกับคนเดินเท้า แล้วยังเหน็ดเหนื่อย เจ้าจะแข่งกับม้าได้อย่างไร? แม้เจ้าปลอดภัยในแผ่นดินสงบสุข แล้วเจ้าจะทำอย่างไรในดงรกริมแม่น้ำจอร์แดน?
5'If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? And though in a land of peace thou art secure, yet how wilt thou do in the thickets of the Jordan?
6แม้แต่พี่น้องของเจ้าและตระกูลบิดา พวกเขาก็ทรยศเจ้า! แม้แต่พวกเขาก็ร้องไล่หลังเจ้าดัง ๆ! อย่าเชื่อพวกเขา ถึงจะพูดไพเราะกับเจ้า
6For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee, even they have cried aloud after thee; believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.'
7“เราละทิ้งบ้านของเราแล้ว เราคัดทิ้งมรดกของเราแล้ว เรามอบคนที่เรารักสุดใจไว้ในมือศัตรูของเธอ
7I have forsaken My house, I have cast off My heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of My soul into the hand of her enemies.
8มรดกของเรากลายเป็นเหมือนสิงโตในป่าสำหรับเรา เธอส่งเสียงต่อสู้กับเรา เราจึงเกลียดเธอ
8My heritage is become unto Me as a lion in the forest; she hath uttered her voice against Me; therefore have I hated her.
9มรดกของเราเป็นเหมือนนกล่าเหยื่อลายจุดสำหรับเราหรือ? นกล่าเหยื่อรุมล้อมเธอทุกด้านหรือ? จงไปรวบรวมสัตว์ในทุ่งทั้งหมด พามันมากลืนกิน
9Is My heritage unto Me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her round about? Come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, bring them to devour.
10ผู้เลี้ยงมากมายทำลายสวนองุ่นของเรา เหยียบย่ำส่วนของเรา ทำส่วนที่น่ารื่นรมย์ของเราให้เป็นถิ่นกันดารรกร้าง
10Many shepherds have destroyed My vineyard, they have trodden My portion under foot, they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11พวกเขาทำให้มันรกร้าง มันรกร้างและคร่ำครวญต่อเรา ทั้งแผ่นดินรกร้าง เพราะไม่มีใครใส่ใจ
11They have made it a desolation, it mourneth unto Me, being desolate; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
12ผู้ทำลายมาถึงยอดเขาโล่งทุกแห่งในถิ่นกันดาร เพราะดาบของพระยาห์เวห์กลืนกินจากปลายแผ่นดินด้านหนึ่งถึงอีกด้าน ไม่มีผู้ใดมีความสงบสุข
12Upon all the high hills in the wilderness spoilers are come; for the sword of the LORD devoureth from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land, no flesh hath peace.
13พวกเขาหว่านข้าวสาลี แต่เก็บเกี่ยวหนาม เหนื่อยแรงจนหมด แต่ไม่ได้ประโยชน์ พวกเจ้าจะอับอายกับผลผลิตของตน เพราะความโกรธเกรี้ยวของพระยาห์เวห์”
13They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns; they have put themselves to pain, they profit not; be ye then ashamed of your increase, because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
14พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “สำหรับเพื่อนบ้านชั่วทั้งหมดของเราที่แตะต้องมรดกซึ่งเราให้ชนชาติอิสราเอลของเรารับไว้ จงฟัง เราจะถอนรากพวกเขาออกจากแผ่นดินของตน และจะถอนรากชนยูดาห์ออกจากหมู่พวกเขา
14Thus saith the LORD: As for all Mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused My people Israel to inherit, behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
15หลังจากถอนรากพวกเขาแล้ว เราจะกลับมาเมตตาสงสาร จะพาทุกคนกลับไปยังมรดกและแผ่นดินของตน
15And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them up, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
16ถ้าพวกเขาตั้งใจเรียนรู้วิถีของชนชาติของเรา สาบานในนามของเราว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์มีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด’ เหมือนที่เคยสอนชนชาติของเราให้สาบานในนามเทพบาอัล พวกเขาก็จะถูกสร้างขึ้นท่ามกลางชนชาติของเรา
16And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of My people to swear by My name: 'As the LORD liveth,' even as they taught My people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built up in the midst of My people.
17แต่ถ้าไม่ฟัง เราจะถอนรากชนชาตินั้น ถอนรากและทำลาย” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
17But if they will not hearken, then will I pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it, saith the LORD.
