1I LOKO o ko'u pilikia, kahea aku la au ia Iehova, A hoolohe mai la oia ia'u.
1A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called unto the LORD, and He answered me.
2E Iehova, e hoopakele mai oe i ko'u uhane i na lehelehe wahahee, A me ke elelo hoopunipuni.
2O LORD, deliver my soul from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
3Heaha ka mea e haawiia'ku ai ia oe, A e hoopili hou ia mai ai ia oe, E ke elelo hoopunipuni?
3What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?
4Na pua oi o ka mea ikaika, A me na lanahu rotema.
4Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of broom.
5Auwe hoi au'i ko'u noho malihini ana ma Meseka, I ko'u noho ana hoi ma na halelewa o Kedera!
5Woe is me, that I sojourn with Meshech, that I dwell beside the tents of Kedar!
6Ua noho loihi ko'u uhane, Me ka mea i inaina mai i ka maluhia.
6My soul hath full long had her dwelling with him that hateth peace.
7Ma ka maluhia no wau; a ia'u e olelo aku ai, Ma ke kaua no lakou la.
7I am all peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
