JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1O KA lawehala ana o ka mea hewa, oia ke olelo iloko o ko'u naau, Aohe weliweli i ke Akua imua o kona alo.
1(36-1) For the Leader. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. (36-2) Transgression speaketh to the wicked, methinks — there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2No ka mea, malimali oia ia ia iho imua o kona mau maka iho, A ikeia kona hewa he mea e hoowahawahaia.
2(36-3) For it flattereth him in his eyes, until his iniquity be found, and he be hated.
3O na olelo a kona waha he hewa ia a me ka hoopunipuni: Ua haalele oia i ka naauao a me ka hana maikai.
3(36-4) The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; he hath left off to be wise, to do good.
4Kukakuka oia i ka hewa maluna o kona wahi moe; Ke ku nei no hoi ia ma ka aoao pono ole: Aole ia i hoowahawaha i ka hewa.
4(36-5) He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
5O kou aloha, e Iehova, aia no i ka lani; A o kou oiaio, e hiki aku no ia i ke ao.
5(36-6) Thy lovingkindness, O LORD, is in the heavens; Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the skies.
6O kou pono na like ia me na kuahiwi o ke Akua; A o kou hooponopono ana he moana nui no ia; Ua malama oe i ke kanaka a me ka holoholona.
6(36-7) Thy righteousness is like the mighty mountains; Thy judgments are like the great deep; man and beast Thou preservest, O LORD.
7Nani ka hemolele o kou lokomaikai, e ke Akua! Nolaila, e kanaho ai na keiki a kanaka i ka malu o kou mau eheu.
7(36-8) How precious is Thy lovingkindness, O God! and the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Thy wings.
8E oluolu loa lalkou i ka mea momona o kou hale; A e hoohainu oe ia lakou i ko ka muliwai o ka olioli nou.
8(36-9) They are abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Thy house; and Thou makest them drink of the river of Thy pleasures.
9No ka mea, aia no ia oe ke kumuwai o ke ola: A iloko o kou malamalama e ike ai makou i malamalama.
9(36-10) For with Thee is the fountain of life; in Thy light do we see light.
10E hoomau oe i kou lokomaikai i ka poe ike ia oe, A me kou pono i ka poe naau pololei.
10(36-11) O continue Thy lovingkindness unto them that know Thee; and Thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11Mai noho a pa mai ke kapuwai o ka haaheo ia'u; Aole hoi o lawe aku ka lima o ka mea hewa ia'u.
11(36-12) Let not the foot of pride overtake me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12Aia ka poe hana hewa ua hina; Ua hoohioloia lakou ilalo, aole e hiki ia lakou ke ku iluna.
12(36-13) There are the workers of iniquity fallen; they are thrust down, and are not able to rise.
