1E LEHA aku au i ko'u mau maka i na mauna, Mailaila mai ko'u kokua e hiki mai ai.
1A Song of Ascents. I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come?
2Mai Iehova mai ko'u kokua, Nana no i hana i ka lani, a me ka honua.
2My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
3Aole ia e haawi i kou wawae i ke kulanalana; O ka mea malama ia oe, aole ia e maluhiluhi.
3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4Aia hoi, o ka mea malama i ka Iseraela, Aole ia e maluhiluhi, aole ia e hiamoe.
4Behold, He that keepeth Israel doth neither slumber nor sleep.
5O Iehova no kou kiai; O Iehova no kou malu, ma kou lima akau.
5The LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6Aole e hahau mai ka la ia oe i ke ao, Aole hoi o ka mahina i ka po.
6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7E malama mai no o Iehova ia oe i ka ino a pau; Nana no e malama i kou uhane.
7The LORD shall keep thee from all evil; He shall keep thy soul.
8E kiai no o Iehova i kou puka ana iwaho a me kou komo ana iloko, Mai keia wa a ka manawa pau ole.
8The LORD shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth and for ever.
