1HE nui no Iehova, e hoomaikai nui ia'ku, Iloko o ke kulanakauhale o ko kakou Akua i kona mauna hoano.
1(48-1) A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. (48-2) Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, in the city of our God, His holy mountain,
2He nani no ke kiekie ana, he mea olioli no ka honua a pau, O Mauna Ziona ma na aoao kukuluakau, ke kulanakauhale o ke Alii nui.
2(48-3) Fair in situation, the joy of the whole earth; even mount Zion, the uttermost parts of the north, the city of the great King.
3Iloko o kona mau halealii, I ikeia'i ke Akua he puuhonua.
3(48-4) God in her palaces hath made Himself known for a stronghold.
4No ka mea, aia hoi, ua akoakoa na'lii, Maalo pu ae la lakou.
4(48-5) For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, they came onward together.
5Ike iho la lakou a mahalo iho la; I makau lakou, a holo aku la.
5(48-6) They saw, straightway they were amazed; they were affrighted, they hasted away.
6Loohia lakou e ka makau malaila, A me ka eha e like me ko ka wahine haakokohi.
6(48-7) Trembling took hold of them there, pangs, as of a woman in travail.
7Me ka makani hikina i wawahi ai oe i na moku o Taresisa.
7(48-8) With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
8E like me ko kakou lohe, pela kakou i ike ai, Ma ke kulanakauhale o Iehova Sabaota, Ma ke kulanakauhale o ko kakou Akua: E hoonoho paa loa ke Akua ia ia a mau loa. Sila.
8(48-9) As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God — God establish it for ever. Selah
9Ua noonoo makou i kou lokomaikai, e ke Akua, Iwaena konu o kou luakini.
9(48-10) We have thought on Thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of Thy temple.
10E like me kou inoa, e ke Akua, Pela ka hoolea nou a hiki i na welelau o ka honua; Ua piha kou lima akau i ka pono.
10(48-11) As is Thy name, O God, so is Thy praise unto the ends of the earth; Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11E hauoli o mauna Ziona, E olioli pu na kaikamahine a Iuda, No kou hooponopono ana.
11(48-12) Let mount Zion be glad, let the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of Thy judgments.
12E kaahele oukou ia Ziona, E hele poai ia ia a puni; E helu i kona mau halekaua.
12(48-13) Walk about Zion, and go round about her; count the towers thereof.
13E hoomaopopo ko oukou naau i kona mau pakaua; E noonoo hoi i kona mau halealii, I hiki ia oukou ke hai aku i ka hanauna mahope aku.
13(48-14) Mark ye well her ramparts, traverse her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14No ka mea, o ke Akua nei oia ko kakou Akua i ke ao pau ole; He alakai auanei ia no kakou a i ka make.
14(48-15) For such is God, our God, for ever and ever; He will guide us eternally.
