1Коли ж оце воскресли ви з Христом, то гірнього шукайте, де Христос сидить по правицї в Бога.
1Therefore, if you be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above; where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God:
2Про гірнє думайте, (а) не про земне.
2Mind the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth.
3Умерли бо ви, і життє ваше поховане з Христом у Бозї.
3For you are dead; and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4Коли ж Христос, життє ваше, явить ся, тодї і ви з Ним явитесь у славі.
4When Christ shall appear, who is your life, then you also shall appear with him in glory.
5Оце ж умертвіть члени ваші, що на землї: блуд, нечистоту, страсть, похоть лиху, зажерливість, котра єсть ідолослуженнє,
5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is the service of idols.
6за се йде гнїв Божий на синів неслухняности,
6For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief,
7між котрими і ви колись ходили, як жили між ними.
7In which you also walked some time, when you lived in them.
8Тепер же покиньте й ви те все: гнїв, ярость, злобу, лайку, соромні слова од уст ваших.
8But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth.
9Не кривіть словом один проти одного, скинувши з себе давнього чоловіка з дїлами його,
9Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds,
10і одягнувшись у нового, що обновляєть ся в розумі по образу Того, хто сотворив його,
10And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him.
11де нема Грека, нї Жидовина, обрізання і необрізання, чужоземця і Скита, невільника й вільного, а все й у всьому Христос.
11Where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, bond nor free. But Christ is all, and in all.
12Одягнїть ся ж оце, яко вибрані Божі, сьвяті і любі, в милость милосердя, добрість, смирність, тихість і довготерпіннє,
12Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy, and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience:
13терплячи один одного й прощаючи собі, коли хто на кого має жаль; яко ж і Христос простив вам, так і ви.
13Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another: even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also.
14Над усїм же сим любов, котра єсть союз звершення,
14But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection:
15і мир Божий нехай править в серцях ваших, до котрого вас і покликано в одному тїлї, та й будьте вдячні.
15And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful.
16Слово Христове нехай вселяєть ся в вас, багате на всяку премудрість, навчаючи і наставляючи самих себе псальмами та гимнами, та піснями духовними, у благодатї сьпіваючи в серцю вашому Господеві.
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God.
17І все, що нї робите словом або дїлом, усе в імя Господа Ісуса, дякуючи Богу й Отцеві через Него.
17All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18Жінки, коріть ся своїм чоловікам, яко ж подобає в Господї.
18Wives, be subject to your husbands, as it behoveth in the Lord.
19Чоловіки, любіть жінок і не бувайте гіркими до них.
19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter towards them.
20Дїти, слухайте родителїв у всьому, се бо угодно Господеві.
20Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
21Батьки, не роздражнюйте дїтей ваших, щоб не внивали.
21Fathers, provoke not your children to indignation, lest they be discouraged.
22Слуги, слухайте у всьому панів по тїлу, не перед очима тільки служачи, яко чоловіковгодники, а в простотї серця, боячись Бога;
22Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not serving to the eye, as pleasing men, but in simplicity of heart, fearing God.
23і все, що робите, від душі робіть, яко ж Господу, а не людям,
23Whatsoever you do, do it from the heart, as to the Lord, and not to men:
24знаючи, що від Бога приймете нагороду наслїддя; Господу бо Христу служите.
24Knowing that you shall receive of the Lord the reward of inheritance. Serve ye the Lord Christ.
25А хто кривдить, прийме у чому скривдив, і нема вважання на лице (в Бога).
25For he that doth wrong, shall receive for that which he hath done wrongfully: and there is no respect of persons with God.
