1І засьпівав Давид Господеві того часу, як Господь вирятував його з рук у всїх ворогів його й з руки Саулової, й промовив:
1And David spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul;
2Господь — скеля моя у тїснотї моїй, захищає — рятує.
2and he said: The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
3Він мій Бог і затула моя, й до його втекаю я в нуждї. Він мій щит, ріг спасення мого, він мій тверджений замок про втеки. Визволяє мене він з потали, з ворожої волї й сили.
3The God who is my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower, and my refuge; my saviour, Thou savest me from violence.
4Обізвусь до всехвального Бога, й він вороги мої боре.
4Praised, I cry, is the LORD, and I am saved from mine enemies.
5Смерть, як води, мене обняла, зло на мене реве бурчаками.
5For the waves of Death compassed me. The floods of Belial assailed me.
6Ланцюги свої пекло на мене кує, й тенета готує.
6The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of Death confronted me.
7І в скорботї моїй заквилив я до Господа, кричма заплакав. І почув він мене із палати своєї, почув він мій голос, і дійшов до ушей його крик мій й плач, й квиленнє-благаннє.
7In my distress I called upon the LORD, yea, I called unto my God; and out of His temple He heard my voice, and my cry did enter into His ears.
8Позирне, й земля захиталась, і небо здвигнулось в основах. Бо тяжким він гнївом закипів, загорівсь, запалав несказанним.
8Then the earth did shake and quake, the foundations of heaven did tremble; they were shaken, because He was wroth.
9Із ніздер устав дим, з роту вугльом жеврющим і поломєм жарко жахнуло.
9Smoke arose up in His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth did devour; coals flamed forth from Him.
10Прихилив небеса та й зійшов; чорний мрак під ногами у його;
10He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and thick darkness was under His feet.
11Під ним дух Херубим; він летить крильми вітру в хуртовинї-бурі.
11And He rode upon a cherub, and did fly; yea, He was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12Обгорнувся-закутавсь у шату — у тьму водяну, в чорну хмару.
12And He made darkness pavilions round about Him, gathering of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
13Як сяйне, як дихне, летить гряд, летить жар, летить жупел жерущий;
13At the brightness before Him coals of fire flamed forth.
14Загрімів Господь з неба, подав голос Бог всемогущий, найвишчий.
14The LORD thundered from heaven, and the Most High gave forth His voice.
15Метнув стрільми й роспудив їх різно; блиснув блискавками й злякались.
15And He sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
16І відкрилося оку дно в морі, розверзлись у горах утроби від страшенного гласу, від грому грізного, від духу гнївного.
16And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils.
17І простїг він з високого неба правицю, й мене з вод великих
17He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters;
18Із неситої злостї, з пучини, з безоднї ворожої витяг.
18He delivered me from mine enemy most strong, from them that hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
19Вони встали на мене в недолї, Господь же менї дав підмогу,
19They confronted me in the day of my calamity; but the LORD was a stay unto me.
20На простір мене вивів з тїсноти й вирвав із рук беззаконних.
20He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
21І воздав менї Бог по моїй щирій правдї всї блага на сьвітї, наградив він мене за мої чисті руки своїм воздаяннєм.
21The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me.
22Бо путями Господнїми твердо ходив я, цураючись кривди; не чинив я ледачого ледарства проти спасенного слова.
22For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23Всї закони Господнї перед віччу в мене стоять що години. Не звертаю й праворуч із них, а не то, щоб лїворуч звертати.
23For all His ordinances were before me; and as for His statutes, I did not depart from them.
24Непорочен і чист перед ним був устами я й серцем. Над усе я гріха й переступу Божої волї берігся.
24And I was single-hearted toward Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
25І воздав Господь Бог за мою щиру правду менї воздаяннєм, за мої чисті руки перед віччу в його, обмислив прещедро.
25Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in His eyes.
26З преподобним єси в милосердю його преподобен і сам ти. І правдивого в правдї своїй ублажаєш земними благами.
26With the merciful Thou dost show Thyself merciful, with the upright man Thou dost show Thyself upright,
27З чистим серцем ти чист, і показуєш правду йому без утайки, а з олживим, зрадливим, лукавим, його ж робом ходиш і робиш.
27With the pure Thou dost show myself pure; and with the crooked Thou dost show Thyself subtle.
28Заступаєшся ти за убогих в лихій їх годинї й тїснотї, очі ж гордих, неситих пихою загреб хилиш низько до долу.
28And the afflicted people Thou dost save; but Thine eyes are upon the haughty, that Thou mayest humble them.
29Ти, мій Боже, у мене за сьвітло, ти сьвітиш менї й у темнотї, і просьвічуєш темряву й розуму й серця сумного.
29For Thou art my lamp, O LORD; and the LORD doth lighten my darkness.
30Я з тобою воюю, з тобою звойовую військо хоробре, і з тобою на тверджі потужні, на мури злїзаю високі.
30For by Thee I run upon a troop; by my God do I scale a wall.
31Бог! у його дорога без хиби права, слово чисте у його; щит спасенний він тим, хто надїю в йому одному покладає;
31As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in Him.
32Бо хто Бог, опріч Господа, Бога одного, і хто нам защита, опріч його сьвятого, єдиного Бога справдешнього в сьвітї?
32For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a Rock, save our God?
33Він мене підперезує силою й путь менї рівно рівняє,
33The God who is my strong fortress, and who letteth my way go forth straight;
34Робить ноги бистрими, як в оленя, й гори знижає високі;
34Who maketh my feet like hinds', and setteth me upon my high places;
35Робить з рук моїх він самосїка-меча, з пліч — мідяного лука.
35Who traineth my hands for war, so that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.
36І щитом закриває спасенним, і милостю пишно величить.
36Thou hast also given me Thy shield of salvation; and Thy condescension hath made me great.
37І ступнї розширяє мої, й нога не спіткнеться у мене.
37Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not slipped.
38Я вганяю за ворогом прудко, хапаю, не дам улизнути,
38I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; neither did I turn back till they were consumed.
39І вирізую всїх до ноги, щоб на мене вже більш не вставали.
39And I have consumed them, and smitten them through, that they cannot arise; yea, they are fallen under my feet.
40Підперезуєш міццю мене, й лечу я до бою стрілою,
40For Thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
41Бо женеш вороги сперед мене, я в пень їх запеклих рубаю.
41Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me; yea, them that hate me, that I might cut them off.
42І кричать вони й квилять, нема їм підмоги й рятунку. Кричма квилять до Господа, нї! він мовчить і до них не озветься.
42They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but He answered them not.
43Й розкидую їх, розсипаю, мов землю, мов порох по вітру; я топчу їх ногами, мішу, як грязюку в багнї, у калюжі.
43Then did I beat them small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the streets, and did tread them down.
44Рятував ти від змовин мене, уберіг і від бунту слїпого, і зробив головою язиків чужих, боввохвальників страннїх.
44Thou also hast delivered me from the contentions of my people; Thou hast kept me to be the head of the nations; a people whom I have not known serve me.
45Люди — народи страннї, язицї чужі, боввохвалцї непевні, що не знав їх, не відав, вони тепер служать менї, послухають.
45The sons of the stranger dwindle away before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me.
46Чужий рід, чужа віра, леститься до мене, менї догоджає, й тремтять вороги чужоземцї по тверджених замках високих.
46The sons of the stranger fade away, and come halting out of their close places.
47Жив Господь і прославлена скеля моя й защита спасенна,
47The LORD liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God, my Rock of salvation;
48Бог, що помсту мою взяв на себе, піддавши народи під мене,
48Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, and bringeth down peoples under me,
49Що вхопив мене з рук в супостат і підняв мене в гору, і від зрадника з серцем запеклим, лихим, слобонив мою душу!
49And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies; yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.
50Тим я, Господи, буду в язицїх невірних тебе прославляти, й твоє імя, прізвище в псальмах, величнїх піснях восьпівати.
50Therefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises unto Thy name.
51Бо цареві свойму ти на подуж підмогу велику являєш, й Давиду помазанцеві й його роду по вік призначаєш.
51A tower of salvation is He to His king; and showeth mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore.
