1「人の子よ、イスラエルの山々に向かって預言し、こう言え。『イスラエルの山々よ、主の言葉を聞け。
1And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say: Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.
2主なる神はこう言われる。「敵があなたがたに向かって、『ああ、思いどおりだ。昔からの高き所は、われわれの所有となった』と言った。」』
2Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because the enemy hath said against you: Aha! even the ancient high places are ours in possession;
3それゆえ、預言して言え。『主なる神はこう言われる。「彼らはあなたがたを荒れ果てさせ、四方からのみ尽くし、残された諸国の所有物にしようとした。あなたがたは人々の口に上り、民の悪評の的となった。」
3therefore prophesy, and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the rest of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;
4それゆえ、イスラエルの山々よ、主なる神の言葉を聞け。主なる神は、山々と丘、水の流れる谷と低地、荒れ果てた廃墟と見捨てられた町々、すなわち周囲に残された諸国の略奪物となり、あざけりとなった所にこう言われる。
4therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;
5それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる。「わたしは、ねたみの火のうちに、残された諸国とエドム全土に向かって語った。彼らは心から喜び、心の底からの侮りをもって、わたしの地を自分たちの所有とし、略奪物にしようとした。」』
5therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Surely in the fire of My jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed My land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with disdain of soul, to cast it out for a prey;
6それゆえ、イスラエルの地について預言し、山々と丘、水の流れる谷と低地に言え。『主なる神はこう言われる。「見よ、あなたがたが諸国の辱めを負ったので、わたしはねたみと憤りのうちに語った。」
6therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because ye have borne the shame of the nations;
7それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる。「わたしは誓った。あなたがたの周囲にいる諸国は、必ず自分たちの辱めを負う。
7therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: I have lifted up My hand: Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.
8しかし、イスラエルの山々よ、あなたがたは枝を伸ばし、わたしの民イスラエルのために実を結ぶ。彼らが帰って来る時が近いからである。
8But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My people Israel; for they are at hand to come.
9見よ、わたしはあなたがたの味方である。わたしはあなたがたに心を向ける。あなたがたは耕され、種をまかれる。
9For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown;
10わたしはあなたがたの上に人を増やす。イスラエルの全家、そのすべてを増やす。町々には人が住み、廃墟は建て直される。
10and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded;
11わたしはあなたがたの上に人と動物を増やす。彼らは増え、実り豊かになる。わたしは、以前のようにあなたがたに人を住まわせ、初めのころよりも良くする。そのとき、あなたがたは、わたしが主であることを知る。
11and I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
12わたしは人々、すなわち、わたしの民イスラエルをあなたがたの上に歩ませる。彼らはあなたがたを所有し、あなたがたは彼らの相続地となる。あなたがたは二度と彼らから子を奪わない。」
12Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel, and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance; and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.
13主なる神はこう言われる。「人々はあなたがたに、『あなたは人を食い尽くし、自分の国民から子を奪ってきた』と言っている。
13Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because they say unto you: Thou land art a devourer of men, and hast been a bereaver of thy nations;
14それゆえ、あなたはもはや人を食い尽くさず、自分の国民から子を奪うこともない」と主なる神は言われる。
14therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD;
15「わたしは、あなたに諸国からの辱めを二度と聞かせない。あなたは諸民族からのそしりを二度と負わず、自分の国民を二度とつまずかせない」と主なる神は言われる。』」
15neither will I suffer the shame of the nations any more to be heard against thee, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to stumble any more, saith the Lord GOD.'
16さらに、主の言葉が私に臨んだ。
16Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
17「人の子よ、イスラエルの家が自分たちの地に住んでいたとき、彼らはその歩みと行いによって地を汚した。わたしの前では、彼らの歩みは月経による女の汚れのようであった。
17'Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings; their way before Me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.
18それゆえ、彼らがその地で流した血と、その偶像によって地を汚したことのために、わたしは彼らの上に憤りを注いだ。
18Wherefore I poured out My fury upon them for the blood which they had shed upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;
19わたしは彼らを諸国の間に散らし、国々の中に追い散らした。彼らの歩みと行いに従って彼らを裁いた。
19and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
20彼らが行った諸国で、彼らはわたしの聖なる名を汚した。人々が彼らについて、『この者たちは主の民でありながら、主の地を離れた』と言ったからである。
20And when they came unto the nations, whither they came, they profaned My holy name; in that men said of them: These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of His land.
21しかし、わたしは、イスラエルの家が行った諸国の中で汚した、わたしの聖なる名を惜しんだ。
21But I had pity for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they came.
22それゆえ、イスラエルの家に言え。『主なる神はこう言われる。「イスラエルの家よ、わたしがこれを行うのは、あなたがたのためではない。あなたがたが行った諸国の中で汚した、わたしの聖なる名のためである。
22Therefore say unto the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord GOD: I do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye came.
23わたしは、諸国の中で汚されたわたしの大いなる名、あなたがたが彼らの中で汚した名を聖なるものとする。わたしが諸国の目の前で、あなたがたのうちに自らが聖なる者であることを示すとき、彼らは、わたしが主であることを知る」と主なる神は言われる。
23And I will sanctify My great name, which hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24わたしはあなたがたを諸国の中から取り、すべての国々から集め、あなたがた自身の地へ連れて行く。
24For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25わたしは清い水をあなたがたの上に振りかける。あなたがたは清くなる。わたしは、あなたがたのすべての汚れと、すべての偶像からあなたがたを清める。
25And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean; from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26わたしはあなたがたに新しい心を与え、あなたがたのうちに新しい霊を置く。あなたがたの肉体から石の心を取り除き、肉の心を与える。
26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27わたしはあなたがたのうちにわたしの霊を置き、わたしの掟に従って歩ませる。あなたがたはわたしの定めを守り、それを行う。
27And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep Mine ordinances, and do them.
28あなたがたは、わたしがあなたがたの先祖に与えた地に住む。あなたがたはわたしの民となり、わたしはあなたがたの神となる。
28And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be My people, and I will be your God.
29わたしはあなたがたを、すべての汚れから救う。わたしは穀物を呼び寄せて増やし、あなたがたの上に飢饉をもたらさない。
29And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
30わたしは木の実と畑の産物を増やす。あなたがたが諸国の間で、飢饉による辱めを二度と受けないためである。
30And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.
31そのとき、あなたがたは自分たちの悪い歩みと、良くない行いを思い出し、自分たちの不義と忌むべき行いのために、自分自身を忌み嫌う。
31Then shall ye remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32わたしがこれを行うのは、あなたがたのためではない」と主なる神は言われる。「そのことを知れ。イスラエルの家よ、自分たちの歩みを恥じ、辱められよ。
32Not for your sake do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you; be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
33主なる神はこう言われる。わたしがあなたがたをすべての不義から清める日に、町々に人を住まわせ、廃墟を建て直す。
33Thus saith the Lord GOD: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.
34荒れ果てていた地は、通り過ぎるすべての者の目に荒れ地と見えていたが、耕されるようになる。
34And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.
35人々は、『荒れ果てていたこの地は、エデンの園のようになった。廃墟となり、荒れ果て、破壊されていた町々は、城壁で囲まれ、人が住んでいる』と言う。
35And they shall say: This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.
36そのとき、あなたがたの周囲に残された諸国は、主であるわたしが、破壊された所を建て直し、荒れ果てていた所に植えたことを知る。主であるわたしが語り、それを行う。
36Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD have builded the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate; I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
37主なる神はこう言われる。このことについても、わたしはイスラエルの家の願いを聞き入れ、彼らのために行う。わたしは彼らを、羊の群れのように増やす。
37Thus saith the Lord GOD: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38いけにえの羊の群れのように、定められた祭りの時のエルサレムの羊の群れのように、廃墟となった町々は人の群れで満ちる。そのとき、彼らは、わたしが主であることを知る。』」
38As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed seasons, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
