1Fanongo ki hoku leʻo, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻi heʻeku lotu: fakahaofi ʻeku moʻui mei he manavahē ki he fili.
1(64-1) For the Leader. A Psalm of David. (64-2) Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from the terror of the enemy.
2Fakafufū au mei he filioʻi ʻae kau angahala; mei he angatuʻu fakamaveuveu ʻoe kau fai kovi:
2(64-3) Hide me from the council of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity;
3‌ʻOku nau fakamata honau ʻelelo ʻo hangē ko e heletā, ʻonau teke ʻenau kaufana ke fanaʻi ʻenau ngaahi ngahau, ʻio, ko e ngaahi lea kona.
3(64-4) Who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a poisoned word;
4Koeʻuhi ke nau fana ʻi he lilo ki he haohaoa: ʻoku nau fana fakafokifā pe kiate ia, ʻo taʻemanavahē.
4(64-5) That they may shoot in secret places at the blameless; suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
5‌ʻOku nau fetokoniʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻi he meʻa kovi: ʻoku nau fakakaukau ke tau ʻae ngaahi tauhele ʻi he lilo; ʻoku nau pehē, “Ko hai te ne mamata kiate kimautolu?”
5(64-6) They encourage one another in an evil matter; they converse of laying snares secretly; they ask, who would see them.
6‌ʻOku nau kumi ke ʻilo ʻae ngaahi kovi ʻoku nau faʻa ʻeke ke lahi: ʻoku taumamaʻo ʻae mahalo mo e loto ʻokinautolu kotoa pē.
6(64-7) They search out iniquities, they have accomplished a diligent search; even in the inward thought of every one, and the deep heart.
7Ka ʻe fana ʻe he ʻOtua kiate kinautolu ʻaki ʻae ngahau; te nau lavea fakafokifā pe.
7(64-8) But God doth shoot at them with an arrow suddenly; thence are their wounds.
8Ko ia tenau ngaohi honau ʻelelo ke tō kiate kinautolu: ʻe hola ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku mamata kiate kinautolu.
8(64-9) So they make their own tongue a stumbling unto themselves; all that see them shake the head.
9Pea ʻe manavahē ʻae tangata kotoa pē, ʻonau fakahā ʻae ngāue ʻae ʻOtua; he tenau fakakaukau poto ki heʻene ngāue.
9(64-10) And all men fear; and they declare the work of God, and understand His doing.
10‌ʻE fiefia ʻae māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ʻEiki, pea falala kiate ia; pea vikiviki ai ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku angatonu ʻi loto.
10(64-11) The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
