1ʻE Sihova, naʻaku tangi kiate koe mei he ngaahi moana.
1A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths have I called Thee, O LORD.
2ʻE ʻEiki, ke ke ongoʻi hoku leʻo: fakatokangaʻi ho fofonga ki he leʻo ʻo ʻeku ngaahi lotu tāumaʻu.
2Lord, hearken unto my voice; let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3Kapau te ke fakaʻilonga, ʻE Sihova, ʻae ngaahi hia, ʻE ʻEiki, ko hai ʻe faʻa tuʻu?
3If Thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?
4Ka ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻae fakamolemole, koeʻuhi ke manavahē ai kiate koe.
4For with Thee there is forgiveness, that Thou mayest be feared.
5ʻOku ou tatali kia Sihova, ʻoku tatali ʻa hoku laumālie, pea ʻoku ou ʻamanaki lelei ki heʻene folofola.
5I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in His word do I hope.
6ʻOku tatali ʻa hoku laumālie kia Sihova ʻo lahi hake ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku nau leʻo ki he pongipongi: ʻoku ou pehē, ʻo lahi hake ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku nau leʻo ki he pongipongi.
6My soul waiteth for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning; yea, more than watchmen for the morning.
7Ke ʻamanaki ʻa ʻIsileli kia Sihova: he ʻoku ʻia Sihova ʻae ʻaloʻofa, pea ʻoku ʻiate ia ʻae huhuʻi lahi.
7O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.
8Pea te ne huhuʻi ʻa ʻIsileli mei heʻene ngaahi hia kotoa pē.
8And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
