2Ke ʻā hake ʻae saliteli mo e haʻape: te u ʻa hengihengi hake pe au.
2(108-3) Awake, psaltery and harp; I will awake the dawn.
3‌ʻE Sihova, te u fakamālō kiate koe ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai: pea te u hiva fakamālō kiate koe ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga.
3(108-4) I will give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the peoples; and I will sing praises unto Thee among the nations.
4He ʻoku lahi hoʻo ʻaloʻofa ʻo māʻolunga hake ʻi he ngaahi langi: mo hoʻo moʻoni ʻoku aʻu atu ki he ngaahi ʻao.
4(108-5) For Thy mercy is great above the heavens, and Thy truth reacheth unto the skies.
5‌ʻE ʻOtua, ke māʻolunga lahi hake koe ʻi he ngaahi langi: pea ke māʻolunga hake ho nāunau ʻi māmani kotoa pē;
5(108-6) Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; and Thy glory be above all the earth.
6Koeʻuhi ke hao ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻofa ai ke ke fakamoʻui ʻaki ho nima toʻomataʻu, ʻo talia au.
6(108-7) That Thy beloved may be delivered, save with Thy right hand, and answer me.
7Kuo folofola ʻae ʻOtua ʻi heʻene māʻoniʻoni; te u fiefia, “Te u vaeua ʻa Sikemi, ʻo fuofua ʻae luo ʻo Sukote.
7(108-8) God spoke in His holiness, that I would exult; that I would divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
8‌ʻOku ʻoʻoku ʻa Kiliati; ʻoku ʻoʻoku mo Manase; ko hono mālohi foki ʻo hoku ʻulu ʻa ʻIfalemi; ko ʻeku fai fono ʻa Siuta.
8(108-9) Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre.
9Ko ʻeku ipu kaukauʻanga ʻa Moape; te u lī hoku topuvaʻe ki ʻolunga ki ʻItomi; te u vikiviki koeʻuhi ko Filisitia.”
9(108-10) Moab is my washpot; upon Edom do I cast my shoe; over Philistia do I cry aloud.
10Ko hai te ne ʻomi au ki he kolo mālohi? Ko hai te ne aʻutaki au ki ʻItomi?
10(108-11) Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will lead me unto Edom?
11‌ʻE ʻOtua, ʻe ʻikai, te ke fai ia, ʻa koe kuo ke liʻaki ʻakimautolu? Pea ʻikai te ke ʻalu atu, ʻE ʻOtua, mo ʻemau ngaahi kautau?
11(108-12) Hast not Thou cast us off, O God? and Thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts?
12Ke ke tuku kiate kimautolu ʻae tokoni ʻi he mamahi: he ʻoku taʻeʻaonga ʻae tokoni ʻae tangata.
12(108-13) Give us help against the adversary; for vain is the help of man.
13Ko e meʻa ʻi he ʻOtua te tau fai mālohi ai: he ko ia ia te ne malaki hifo hotau ngaahi fili.
13(108-14) Through God we shall do valiantly; for He it is that will tread down our adversaries.
