1เพราะเรารู้ว่า ถ้าบ้านบนโลกนี้ของเรา ซึ่งเป็นเหมือนเต็นท์ ถูกรื้อไป เราก็มีอาคารจากพระเจ้า เป็นบ้านที่มนุษย์ไม่ได้สร้างด้วยมือ และอยู่เป็นนิรันดร์ในสวรรค์
1For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2เพราะขณะที่อยู่ในร่างกายนี้ เราคร่ำครวญ และปรารถนาอย่างยิ่งที่จะสวมที่อยู่อาศัยของเราซึ่งมาจากสวรรค์
2For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3ถ้าเราได้สวมจริง เราก็จะไม่ถูกพบว่าเปลือยเปล่า
3If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4เพราะเราที่อยู่ในเต็นท์นี้คร่ำครวญด้วยความหนักใจ ไม่ใช่เพราะเราอยากถอดสิ่งที่สวมอยู่ แต่เพราะเราอยากสวมอีกสิ่งหนึ่งทับ เพื่อสิ่งที่ต้องตายจะถูกชีวิตกลืนกิน
4For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5พระเจ้าคือผู้ทรงเตรียมเราไว้สำหรับสิ่งนี้โดยเฉพาะ และพระองค์ยังประทานพระวิญญาณแก่เราเป็นมัดจำด้วย
5Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6เพราะฉะนั้น เราจึงมีความมั่นใจอยู่เสมอ และรู้ว่า ขณะที่เรายังพักอาศัยอยู่ในร่างกาย เราก็อยู่ห่างจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7เพราะเราดำเนินชีวิตด้วยความเชื่อ ไม่ใช่ด้วยสิ่งที่มองเห็น
7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8เรามีความกล้าหาญ และข้าพเจ้าขอย้ำว่า เรายินดีมากกว่าที่จะจากร่างกายนี้ไป และไปพักอาศัยอยู่กับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
8We are confident, I say , and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9เพราะฉะนั้น ไม่ว่าเราจะอยู่ในร่างกายนี้ หรือจากร่างกายนี้ไป เราก็ตั้งเป้าว่าจะเป็นที่พอใจของพระองค์
9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10เพราะเราทุกคนต้องปรากฏต่อหน้าบัลลังก์พิพากษาของพระคริสต์ เพื่อแต่ละคนจะได้รับตามสิ่งที่ตนได้ทำขณะอยู่ในร่างกาย ไม่ว่าดีหรือชั่ว
10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11เพราะฉะนั้น เมื่อเรารู้จักความยำเกรงองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เราจึงโน้มน้าวผู้คน พระเจ้าทรงรู้จักเราอย่างชัดแจ้ง และข้าพเจ้าหวังว่า มโนธรรมของพวกคุณก็รู้จักเราอย่างชัดแจ้งเช่นกัน
11Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
12เราไม่ได้ยกย่องตัวเองต่อพวกคุณอีก แต่เพียงให้พวกคุณมีเหตุที่จะอวดเรื่องเรา เพื่อพวกคุณจะมีคำตอบแก่คนที่อวดสิ่งที่เห็นภายนอก ไม่ใช่สิ่งที่อยู่ในใจ
12For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
13เพราะถ้าเราเสียสติ ก็เพื่อพระเจ้า แต่ถ้าเรามีสติ ก็เพื่อพวกคุณ
13For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
14เพราะความรักของพระคริสต์ผลักดันเรา เราตัดสินอย่างนี้ว่า คนหนึ่งได้ตายเพื่อทุกคน ดังนั้น ทุกคนจึงตายแล้ว
14For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15พระองค์ตายเพื่อทุกคน เพื่อคนที่มีชีวิตอยู่จะไม่อยู่เพื่อตัวเองอีกต่อไป แต่อยู่เพื่อพระองค์ผู้ทรงตายและฟื้นขึ้นจากความตายเพื่อพวกเขา
15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16เพราะฉะนั้น ตั้งแต่นี้ไป เราไม่รู้จักใครตามเนื้อหนังอีก แม้เราเคยรู้จักพระคริสต์ตามเนื้อหนัง แต่ตอนนี้เราไม่รู้จักพระองค์อย่างนั้นอีกแล้ว
16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17เพราะฉะนั้น ถ้าใครอยู่ในพระคริสต์ เขาก็เป็นสิ่งสร้างใหม่ สิ่งเก่าทั้งหลายได้ผ่านพ้นไปแล้ว ดูสิ ทุกสิ่งได้กลายเป็นใหม่แล้ว
17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18แต่ทุกสิ่งมาจากพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงทำให้เราคืนดีกับพระองค์โดยทางพระเยซูคริสต์ และประทานงานรับใช้แห่งการคืนดีแก่เรา
18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19คือ พระเจ้าทรงอยู่ในพระคริสต์ และทรงทำให้โลกคืนดีกับพระองค์ โดยไม่ทรงนับความผิดของพวกเขาไว้เป็นโทษ และทรงมอบถ้อยคำเรื่องการคืนดีไว้กับเรา
19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20เพราะฉะนั้น เราเป็นทูตแทนพระคริสต์ ราวกับว่าพระเจ้าทรงขอร้องพวกคุณผ่านทางเรา เราขอร้องพวกคุณแทนพระคริสต์ว่า จงคืนดีกับพระเจ้า
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21พระเจ้าทรงทำให้ผู้ที่ไม่รู้จักบาปเป็นบาปแทนเรา เพื่อว่าในพระองค์ เราจะได้กลายเป็นความชอบธรรมของพระเจ้า
21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
