1ที่จริง ข้าพเจ้าไม่จำเป็นต้องเขียนถึงพวกคุณเกี่ยวกับงานรับใช้ผู้บริสุทธิ์
1For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
2เพราะข้าพเจ้ารู้ว่าพวกคุณพร้อมอยู่แล้ว ข้าพเจ้าจึงอวดเรื่องพวกคุณกับชาวมาซิโดเนียว่า แคว้นอาคายาเตรียมพร้อมมาตั้งแต่ปีที่แล้ว และความกระตือรือร้นของพวกคุณก็กระตุ้นพวกเขาจำนวนมาก
2For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
3แต่ข้าพเจ้าได้ส่งพี่น้องเหล่านี้ไป เพื่อสิ่งที่เราอวดเรื่องพวกคุณในเรื่องนี้จะไม่กลายเป็นคำอวดเปล่า ๆ และเพื่อพวกคุณจะเตรียมพร้อมตามที่ข้าพเจ้าพูดไว้
3Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
4มิฉะนั้น ถ้าชาวมาซิโดเนียบางคนมากับข้าพเจ้าและพบว่าพวกคุณยังไม่พร้อม เราก็จะต้องผิดหวังในความมั่นใจที่เราอวดไว้ ไม่ต้องพูดถึงพวกคุณเลย
4Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
5เพราะฉะนั้น ข้าพเจ้าจึงเห็นว่าจำเป็นต้องขอร้องพี่น้องเหล่านี้ให้เดินทางไปหาพวกคุณล่วงหน้า และจัดเตรียมของที่พวกคุณสัญญาว่าจะให้อย่างใจกว้างไว้ก่อน เพื่อของนั้นจะพร้อม เป็นการให้ด้วยใจกว้าง ไม่ใช่ด้วยความโลภ
5Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
6จงจำไว้ว่า คนที่หว่านเพียงเล็กน้อย ก็จะเก็บเกี่ยวเพียงเล็กน้อย และคนที่หว่านอย่างใจกว้าง ก็จะเก็บเกี่ยวอย่างใจกว้าง
6But this I say , He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7แต่ละคนจงให้ตามที่ตนได้ตั้งใจไว้ในใจ ไม่ใช่ด้วยความเสียดาย หรือเพราะถูกบังคับ เพราะพระเจ้าทรงรักคนที่ให้ด้วยใจยินดี
7Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give ; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8พระเจ้าทรงสามารถให้พวกคุณได้รับพระคุณทุกอย่างอย่างล้นเหลือ เพื่อพวกคุณจะมีทุกสิ่งที่จำเป็นอย่างเพียงพอเสมอ และมีอย่างล้นเหลือสำหรับการดีทุกอย่าง
8And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things , may abound to every good work:
9ตามที่เขียนไว้ว่า “เขาแจกจ่ายออกไป เขาให้แก่คนยากจน ความชอบธรรมของเขาดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์”
9(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10ขอพระองค์ผู้ประทานเมล็ดพันธุ์แก่คนหว่าน และประทานขนมปังเป็นอาหาร ทรงประทานและเพิ่มพูนเมล็ดพันธุ์สำหรับพวกคุณจะหว่าน และทรงเพิ่มผลแห่งความชอบธรรมของพวกคุณ
10Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
11เพื่อพวกคุณจะมั่งคั่งในทุกด้าน และให้ได้อย่างใจกว้างในทุกเรื่อง ซึ่งทำให้เกิดการขอบคุณพระเจ้าผ่านเรา
11Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
12เพราะงานรับใช้แห่งการให้ที่พวกคุณทำนี้ ไม่เพียงเติมเต็มสิ่งที่ผู้บริสุทธิ์ขาดแคลน แต่ยังทำให้มีการขอบคุณพระเจ้าอย่างล้นเหลือด้วย
12For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
13เมื่อพวกเขาเห็นหลักฐานจากงานรับใช้นี้ พวกเขาจะถวายพระสิริแด่พระเจ้า เพราะพวกคุณเชื่อฟังตามที่พวกคุณประกาศยอมรับข่าวดีของพระคริสต์ และเพราะพวกคุณแบ่งปันแก่พวกเขาและแก่ทุกคนอย่างใจกว้าง
13Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men ;
14พวกเขายังอธิษฐานวิงวอนเพื่อพวกคุณ และโหยหาพวกคุณอย่างมาก เพราะพระคุณอันล้นเหลือของพระเจ้าที่อยู่ในพวกคุณ
14And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
15ขอบคุณพระเจ้าสำหรับของประทานของพระองค์ซึ่งไม่อาจบรรยายได้!
15Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
