1นี่เป็นครั้งที่สามที่ข้าพเจ้าจะมาหาพวกคุณ “ทุกเรื่องจะต้องได้รับการยืนยันด้วยคำให้การของพยานสองหรือสามคน”
1This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2ข้าพเจ้าเคยเตือนไว้แล้ว และตอนนี้ก็เตือนอีก เหมือนตอนที่ข้าพเจ้าอยู่กับพวกคุณเป็นครั้งที่สอง ตอนนี้แม้ข้าพเจ้าไม่อยู่ ข้าพเจ้าก็เขียนถึงคนที่เคยทำบาปมาก่อน และคนอื่นทั้งหมดว่า ถ้าข้าพเจ้ามาอีก ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ผ่อนปรน
2I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3เพราะพวกคุณกำลังเรียกร้องหลักฐานเกี่ยวกับพระคริสต์ผู้ทรงพูดอยู่ในข้าพเจ้า พระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงอ่อนแอ แต่ทรงมีพลังอยู่ในพวกคุณ
3Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4เพราะแม้พระองค์ทรงถูกตรึงบนกางเขนด้วยความอ่อนแอ แต่พระองค์ทรงมีชีวิตอยู่ด้วยพลังของพระเจ้า เราเองก็อ่อนแอในพระองค์ แต่เราจะมีชีวิตร่วมกับพระองค์ด้วยพลังของพระเจ้าเพื่อพวกคุณ
4For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5จงตรวจสอบตัวเองว่า พวกคุณอยู่ในความเชื่อหรือไม่ จงทดสอบตัวเอง พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า พระเยซูคริสต์อยู่ในพวกคุณ? เว้นแต่พวกคุณจะไม่ผ่านการทดสอบจริง ๆ
5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6แต่ข้าพเจ้าหวังว่า พวกคุณจะรู้ว่า เราผ่านการทดสอบ
6But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7ตอนนี้ เราอธิษฐานต่อพระเจ้า ขอให้พวกคุณไม่ทำสิ่งชั่วร้าย ไม่ใช่เพื่อให้เราดูเหมือนผ่านการทดสอบ แต่เพื่อให้พวกคุณทำสิ่งที่ดี แม้เราจะดูเหมือนไม่ผ่านการทดสอบก็ตาม
7Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
8เพราะเราทำอะไรที่ต่อต้านความจริงไม่ได้ มีแต่ทำเพื่อความจริงเท่านั้น
8For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
9เพราะเรายินดีเมื่อเราอ่อนแอ แต่พวกคุณเข้มแข็ง เรายังอธิษฐานขอสิ่งนี้ด้วย คือให้พวกคุณได้รับการฟื้นฟูให้สมบูรณ์
9For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
10เพราะเหตุนี้ ข้าพเจ้าจึงเขียนสิ่งเหล่านี้ขณะที่ไม่อยู่ เพื่อว่าเมื่อข้าพเจ้าอยู่กับพวกคุณ ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ต้องปฏิบัติอย่างเข้มงวด ตามสิทธิอำนาจที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้าเพื่อเสริมสร้าง ไม่ใช่เพื่อทำลาย
10Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
11สุดท้ายนี้ พี่น้องทั้งหลาย จงชื่นชมยินดี! จงรับการฟื้นฟูให้สมบูรณ์ จงรับการปลอบใจ จงมีความคิดตรงกัน จงอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างสันติ แล้วพระเจ้าแห่งความรักและสันติสุขจะอยู่กับพวกคุณ
11Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
12จงทักทายกันด้วยการจูบอันบริสุทธิ์
12Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13ผู้บริสุทธิ์ทุกคนฝากคำทักทายมาถึงพวกคุณ
13All the saints salute you.
14ขอพระคุณของพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ความรักของพระเจ้า และการมีส่วนร่วมในพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ อยู่กับพวกคุณทุกคน อาเมน
14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
