1A Song of Ascents; of David. I rejoiced when they said unto me: 'Let us go unto the house of the LORD.'
1Cantique des degrés. De David. Je suis dans la joie quand on me dit: Allons à la maison de l’Éternel!
2Our feet are standing within thy gates, O Jerusalem;
2Nos pieds s’arrêtent Dans tes portes, Jérusalem!
3Jerusalem, that art builded as a city that is compact together;
3Jérusalem, tu es bâtie Comme une ville dont les parties sont liées ensemble.
4Whither the tribes went up, even the tribes of the LORD, as a testimony unto Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.
4C’est là que montent les tribus, les tribus de l’Éternel, Selon la loi d’Israël, Pour louer le nom de l’Éternel.
5For there were set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
5Car là sont les trônes pour la justice, Les trônes de la maison de David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they prosper that love thee.
6Demandez la paix de Jérusalem. Que ceux qui t’aiment jouissent du repos!
7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
7Que la paix soit dans tes murs, Et la tranquillité dans tes palais!
8For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say: 'Peace be within thee.'
8A cause de mes frères et de mes amis, Je désire la paix dans ton sein;
9For the sake of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
9A cause de la maison de l’Éternel, notre Dieu, Je fais des vœux pour ton bonheur.
