1In the year that Tartan came into Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it;
1ในปีที่แม่ทัพทาร์ทานมาถึงอัชโดด ซาร์กอนกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียเป็นผู้ส่งเขามา แม่ทัพผู้นี้ต่อสู้กับอัชโดดและยึดเมืองได้
2at that time the LORD spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying: 'Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put thy shoe from off thy foot.' And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
2ในเวลานั้น พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวผ่านอิสยาห์บุตรอาโมสว่า “จงแก้ผ้ากระสอบออกจากเอว ถอดรองเท้าแตะออก” อิสยาห์ก็ทำตาม เดินเปลือยกายและเท้าเปล่า
3And the LORD said: 'Like as My servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot to be for three years a sign and a wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia,
3พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “อิสยาห์ผู้รับใช้ของเราเดินเปลือยกายและเท้าเปล่าสามปี เป็นหมายสำคัญและสิ่งอัศจรรย์เกี่ยวกับอียิปต์และเอธิโอเปียอย่างไร
4so shall the king of Assyria lead away the captives of Egypt, and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
4กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียก็จะนำเชลยอียิปต์และคนเอธิโอเปียที่ถูกกวาดต้อนไป ทั้งหนุ่มและแก่ เปลือยกายและเท้าเปล่า เปลือยก้น เป็นความอับอายของอียิปต์อย่างนั้น
5And they shall be dismayed and ashamed, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
5พวกเขาจะหวาดผวาและอับอาย เพราะเอธิโอเปียที่ตนคาดหวัง และอียิปต์ที่ตนภาคภูมิ
6And the inhabitant of this coast-land shall say in that day: Behold, such is our expectation, whither we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and how shall we escape?'
6ชาวดินแดนชายฝั่งนี้จะกล่าวในวันนั้นว่า ‘ดูสิ นี่คือผู้ที่พวกเราคาดหวัง ผู้ที่พวกเราหนีไปขอความช่วยเหลือเพื่อรอดจากกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรีย แล้วพวกเราจะหนีรอดได้อย่างไร?’”
