1Now these are the generations of Esau — the same is Edom.
1以掃 就是 以東 ，他的後代記在下面。
2Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
2以掃 娶 迦南 的女子為妻，就是 赫 人 以倫 的女兒 亞大 和 希未 人 祭便 的孫女、 亞拿 的女兒 阿何利巴瑪 ，
3and Basemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebaioth.
3又娶了 以實瑪利 的女兒、 尼拜約 的妹子 巴實抹 。
4And Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz; and Basemath bore Reuel;
4亞大 給 以掃 生了 以利法 ； 巴實抹 生了 流珥 ；
5and Oholibamah bore Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau, that were born unto him in the land of Canaan.
5阿何利巴瑪 生了 耶烏施 、 雅蘭 、 可拉 。這都是 以掃 的兒子，是在 迦南 地生的。
6And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the souls of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his possessions, which he had gathered in the land of Canaan; and went into a land away from his brother Jacob.
6以掃 帶着他的妻子、兒女，與家中一切的人口，並他的牛羊、牲畜，和一切貨財，就是他在 迦南 地所得的，往別處去，離了他兄弟 雅各 。
7For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojournings could not bear them because of their cattle.
7因為二人的財物群畜甚多，寄居的地方容不下他們，所以不能同居。
8And Esau dwelt in the mountain-land of Seir — Esau is Edom.
8於是 以掃 住在 西珥山 裏； 以掃 就是 以東 。
9And these are the generations of Esau the father of a the Edomites in the mountain-land of Seir.
9以掃 是 西珥山 裏 以東 人的始祖，他的後代記在下面。
10These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau.
10以掃 眾子的名字如下。 以掃 的妻子 亞大 生 以利法 ； 以掃 的妻子 巴實抹 生 流珥 。
11And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
11以利法 的兒子是 提幔 、 阿抹 、 洗玻 、 迦坦 、 基納斯 。
12And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek. These are the sons of Adah Esau's wife.
12亭納 是 以掃 兒子 以利法 的妾；她給 以利法 生了 亞瑪力 。這是 以掃 的妻子 亞大 的子孫。
13And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath Esau's wife.
13流珥 的兒子是 拿哈 、 謝拉 、 沙瑪 、 米撒 。這是 以掃 妻子 巴實抹 的子孫。
14And these were the sons of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife; and she bore to Esau Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.
14以掃 的妻子 阿何利巴瑪 是 祭便 的孫女， 亞拿 的女兒；她給 以掃 生了 耶烏施 、 雅蘭 、 可拉 。
15These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the first-born of Esau: the chief of Teman, the chief of Omar, the chief of Zepho, the chief of Kenaz,
15以掃 子孫中作族長的記在下面。 以掃 的長子 以利法 的子孫中，有 提幔 族長、 阿抹 族長、 洗玻 族長、 基納斯 族長、
16the chief of Korah, the chief of Gatam, the chief of Amalek. These are the chiefs that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah.
16可拉 族長、 迦坦 族長、 亞瑪力 族長。這是在 以東 地從 以利法 所出的族長，都是 亞大 的子孫。
17And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son: the chief of Nahath, the chief of Zerah, the chief of Shammah, the chief of Mizzah. These are the chiefs that came of Reuel in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Basemath Esau's wife.
17以掃 的兒子 流珥 的子孫中，有 拿哈 族長、 謝拉 族長、 沙瑪 族長、 米撒 族長。這是在 以東 地從 流珥 所出的族長，都是 以掃 妻子 巴實抹 的子孫。
18And these are the sons of Oholibamah Esau's wife: the chief of Jeush, the chief of Jalam, the chief of Korah. These are the chiefs that came of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.
18以掃 的妻子 阿何利巴瑪 的子孫中，有 耶烏施 族長、 雅蘭 族長、 可拉 族長。這是從 以掃 妻子， 亞拿 的女兒， 阿何利巴瑪 子孫中所出的族長。
19These are the sons of Esau, and these are their chiefs; the same is Edom.
19以上的族長都是 以掃 的子孫； 以掃 就是 以東 。
20These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah,
20那地原有的居民－ 何利 人 西珥 的子孫記在下面：就是 羅坍 、 朔巴 、 祭便 、 亞拿 、
21and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan. These are the chiefs that came of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
21底順 、 以察 、 底珊 。這是從 以東 地的 何利 人 西珥 子孫中所出的族長。
22And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.
22羅坍 的兒子是 何利 、 希幔 ； 羅坍 的妹子是 亭納 。
23And these are the children of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
23朔巴 的兒子是 亞勒文 、 瑪拿轄 、 以巴錄 、 示玻 、 阿南 。
24And these are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah — this is Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
24祭便 的兒子是 亞雅 、 亞拿 （當時在曠野放他父親 祭便 的驢，遇着溫泉的，就是這 亞拿 ）。
25And these are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah.
25亞拿 的兒子是 底順 ； 亞拿 的女兒是 阿何利巴瑪 。
26And these are the children of Dishon: Hemdan and Eshban and Ithran and Cheran.
26底順 的兒子是 欣但 、 伊是班 、 益蘭 、 基蘭 。
27These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan and Zaavan and Akan.
27以察 的兒子是 辟罕 、 撒番 、 亞干 。
28These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

29These are the chiefs that came of the Horites: the chief of Lotan, the chief of Shobal, the chief of Zibeon, the chief of Anah,
29從 何利 人所出的族長記在下面：就是 羅坍 族長、 朔巴 族長、 祭便 族長、 亞拿 族長、
30the chief of Dishon, the chief of Ezer, the chief of Dishan. These are the chiefs that came of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
30底順 族長、 以察 族長、 底珊 族長。這是從 何利 人所出的族長，都在 西珥 地，按着宗族作族長。
31And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
31以色列 人未有君王治理以先，在 以東 地作王的記在下面。
32And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
32比珥 的兒子 比拉 在 以東 作王，他的 京 城名叫 亭哈巴 。
33And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
33比拉 死了， 波斯拉 人 謝拉 的兒子 約巴 接續他作王。
34And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.
34約巴 死了， 提幔 地的人 戶珊 接續他作王。
35And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith.
35戶珊 死了， 比達 的兒子 哈達 接續他作王；這 哈達 就是在 摩押 地殺敗 米甸 人的，他的 京 城名叫 亞未得 。
36And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
36哈達 死了， 瑪士利加 人 桑拉 接續他作王。
37And Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his stead.
37桑拉 死了，大河邊的 利河伯 人 掃羅 接續他作王。
38And Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
38掃羅 死了， 亞革波 的兒子 巴勒‧哈南 接續他作王。
39And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead; and the name of the city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
39亞革波 的兒子 巴勒‧哈南 死了， 哈達 接續他作王，他的 京 城名叫 巴烏 ；他的妻子名叫 米希她別 ，是 米‧薩合 的孫女， 瑪特列 的女兒。
40And these are the names of the chiefs that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names: the chief of Timna, the chief of Alvah, the chief of Jetheth;
40從 以掃 所出的族長，按着他們的宗族、住處、名字記在下面：就是 亭納 族長、 亞勒瓦 族長、 耶帖 族長、
41the chief of Oholibamah, the chief of Elah, the chief of Pinon;
41阿何利巴瑪 族長、 以拉 族長、 比嫩 族長、
42the chief of Kenaz, the chief of Teman, the chief of Mibzar;
42基納斯 族長、 提幔 族長、 米比薩 族長、
43the chief of Magdiel, the chief of Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is Esau the father of the Edomites.
43瑪基疊 族長、 以蘭 族長。這是 以東 人在所得為業的地上，按着他們的住處。（所有的族長都是 以東 人的始祖 以掃 的後代。）
