1Now these are the generations of Esau — the same is Edom.
1ΑΥΤΑΙ δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἡσαῦ (αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ)·
2Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
2Ἡσαῦ δὲ ἔλαβε τὰς γυναῖκας ἑαυτῷ ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν Χαναναίων, τὴν Ἀδὰ θυγατέρα Αἰλὼμ τοῦ Χετταίου καὶ τοῦ Ὀλιβεμὰ θυγατέρα Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγὼν τοῦ Εὐαίου
3and Basemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebaioth.
3καὶ τὴν Βασεμὰθ θυγατέρα Ἰσμαὴλ ἀδελφὴν Ναβεώθ.
4And Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz; and Basemath bore Reuel;
4ἔτεκε δὲ αὐτῷ Ἀδὰ τὸν Ἑλιφάς, καὶ Βασεμὰθ ἔτεκε τὸν Ραγουήλ,
5and Oholibamah bore Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau, that were born unto him in the land of Canaan.
5καὶ Ὀλιβεμὰ ἔτεκε τὸν Ἰεοὺς καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ καὶ τὸν Κορέ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ, οἳ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ ἐν γῇ Χαναάν.
6And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the souls of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his possessions, which he had gathered in the land of Canaan; and went into a land away from his brother Jacob.
6ἔλαβε δὲ Ἡσαῦ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ σώματα τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐκτήσατο καὶ πάντα ὅσα περιεποιήσατο ἐν γῇ Χαναάν, καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ἡσαῦ ἐκ τῆς γῆς Χαναὰν ἀπό προσώπου Ἰακὼβ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ.
7For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojournings could not bear them because of their cattle.
7ἦν γὰρ αὐτῶν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα πολλὰ τοῦ οἰκεῖν ἅμα, καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο ἡ γῆ τῆς παροικήσεως αὐτῶν φέρειν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτῶν.
8And Esau dwelt in the mountain-land of Seir — Esau is Edom.
8κατῴκησε δὲ Ἡσαῦ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηεὶρ ( Ἡσαῦ αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ).
9And these are the generations of Esau the father of a the Edomites in the mountain-land of Seir.
9Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἡσαῦ πατρὸς Ἐδὼμ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηείρ,
10These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau.
10καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ἡσαῦ· Ἑλιφὰς υἱὸς Ἀδᾶς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ καὶ Ραγουὴλ υἱὸς Βασεμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
11And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
11ἐγένοντο δὲ Ἑλιφὰς υἱοί· Θαιμάν, Ὡμάρ, Σωφάρ, Γοθὼμ καὶ Κενέζ·
12And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek. These are the sons of Adah Esau's wife.
12Θαμνὰ δὲ ἦν παλλακὴ Ἑλιφὰς τοῦ υἱοῦ Ἡσαῦ καὶ ἔτεκε τῷ Ἑλιφὰς τὸν Ἀμαλήκ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀδᾶς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
13And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath Esau's wife.
13οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ραγουήλ· Ναχόθ, Ζαρέ, Σομέ, καὶ Μοζέ· οὗτοι ἦσαν υἱοὶ Βασεμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
14And these were the sons of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife; and she bore to Esau Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.
14οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ὀλιβεμᾶς θυγατρὸς Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγών, γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· ἔτεκε δὲ τῷ Ἡσαῦ τὸν Ἰεοὺς καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ καὶ τὸν Κορέ.
15These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the first-born of Esau: the chief of Teman, the chief of Omar, the chief of Zepho, the chief of Kenaz,
15οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ· υἱοὶ Ἑλιφὰς πρωτοτόκου Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Θαιμάν, ἡγεμὼν Ὡμάρ, ἡγεμὼν Σωφάρ, ἡγεμὼν Κενέζ,
16the chief of Korah, the chief of Gatam, the chief of Amalek. These are the chiefs that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah.
16ἡγεμὼν Κορέ, ἡγεμὼν Γοθώμ, ἡγεμὼν Ἀμαλήκ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἑλιφὰς ἐν γῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀδᾶς.
17And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son: the chief of Nahath, the chief of Zerah, the chief of Shammah, the chief of Mizzah. These are the chiefs that came of Reuel in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Basemath Esau's wife.
17καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ραγουὴλ υἱοῦ Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Ναχώθ, ἡγεμὼν Ζαρέ, ἡγεμὼν Σομέ, ἡγεμὼν Μοζέ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ραγουὴλ ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Βασεμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
18And these are the sons of Oholibamah Esau's wife: the chief of Jeush, the chief of Jalam, the chief of Korah. These are the chiefs that came of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.
18οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ὀλιβεμᾶς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Ἰεούλ, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεγλόμ, ἡγεμὼν Κορέ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ὀλιβεμᾶς θυγατρὸς Ἀνὰ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
19These are the sons of Esau, and these are their chiefs; the same is Edom.
19οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ, καὶ οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες αὐτῶν. οὗτοί εἰσιν υἱοὶ Ἐδώμ.
20These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah,
20Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σηεὶρ τοῦ Χορραίου τοῦ κατοικοῦντος τὴν γῆν· Λωτά, Σωβάλ, Σεβεγών, Ἀνὰ
21and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan. These are the chiefs that came of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
21καὶ Δησὼν καὶ Ἀσὰρ καὶ Ρισών· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες τοῦ Χορραίου τοῦ υἱοῦ Σηεὶρ ἐν τῇ γῇ Ἐδώμ.
22And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.
22ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Λωτάν· Χορρὶ καὶ Αἰμάν· ἀδελφὴ δὲ Λωτὰν Θαμνά.
23And these are the children of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
23οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σωβάλ· Γωλὰμ καὶ Μαναχὰθ καὶ Γαιβὴλ καὶ Σωφὰρ καὶ Ὡμάρ.
24And these are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah — this is Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
24καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Σεβεγών· Ἀϊέ καὶ Ἀνά· οὗτός ἐστιν Ἀνά, ὃς εὗρε τὸν Ἰαμεὶν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, ὅτε ἔνεμε τὰ ὑποζύγια Σεβεγὼν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ.
25And these are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah.
25οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἀνά· Δησὼν καὶ Ὀλιβεμὰ θυγάτηρ Ἀνά.
26And these are the children of Dishon: Hemdan and Eshban and Ithran and Cheran.
26οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Δησών· Ἀμαδὰ καὶ Ἀσβὰν καὶ Ἰθρὰν καὶ Χαρράν.
27These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan and Zaavan and Akan.
27οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἀσάρ· Βαλαὰμ καὶ Ζουκὰμ καὶ Ἰουκάμ.
28These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
28οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ρισών· Ὧς καὶ Ἀράν.
29These are the chiefs that came of the Horites: the chief of Lotan, the chief of Shobal, the chief of Zibeon, the chief of Anah,
29οὗτοι δὲ ἡγεμόνες Χορρί· ἡγεμὼν Λωτάν, ἡγεμὼν Σωβάλ, ἡγεμὼν Σεβεγών, ἡγεμὼν Ἀνά,
30the chief of Dishon, the chief of Ezer, the chief of Dishan. These are the chiefs that came of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
30ἡγεμὼν Δησών, ἡγεμὼν Ἀσάρ, ἡγεμὼν Ρισών. οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Χορρὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡγεμονίαις αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ.
31And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
31Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ βασιλεύσαντες ἐν Ἐδὼμ πρὸ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι βασιλέα ἐν Ἰσραήλ.
32And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
32καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ἐδὼμ Βαλὰκ υἱὸς Βεώρ, καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Δενναβά.
33And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
33ἀπέθανε δὲ Βαλάκ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Ἰωβὰβ υἱὸς Ζαρὰ ἐκ Βοσόρρας.
34And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.
34ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἰωβάβ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Ἀσὼμ ἐκ τῆς γῆς Θαιμανών.
35And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith.
35ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἀσώμ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Ἀδὰδ υἱὸς Βαρὰδ ὁ ἐκκόψας Μαδιὰμ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ Μωάβ, καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Γετθαίμ.
36And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
36ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἀδάδ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Σαμαδὰ ἐκ Μασεκκᾶς.
37And Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his stead.
37ἀπέθανε δὲ Σαμαδά, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Σαοὺλ ἐκ Ροωβὼθ τῆς παρὰ ποταμόν.
38And Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
38ἀπέθανε δὲ Σαούλ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Βαλαεννὼν υἱὸς Ἀχοβώρ.
39And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead; and the name of the city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
39ἀπέθανε δὲ Βαλαεννὼν υἱὸς Ἀχοβώρ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ Ἀρὰδ υἱὸς Βαράδ, καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Φογώρ, ὄνομα δὲ τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ Μετεβεήλ, θυγάτηρ Ματραΐθ, υἱοῦ Μαιζοώβ.
40And these are the names of the chiefs that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names: the chief of Timna, the chief of Alvah, the chief of Jetheth;
40Ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἡγεμόνων Ἡσαῦ ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν κατὰ τόπον αὐτῶν, ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν. ἡγεμὼν Θαμνά, ἡγεμὼν Γωλά, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεθέρ,
41the chief of Oholibamah, the chief of Elah, the chief of Pinon;
41ἡγεμὼν Ὀλιβεμάς, ἡγεμὼν Ἡλάς, ἡγεμὼν Φινών,
42the chief of Kenaz, the chief of Teman, the chief of Mibzar;
42ἡγεμὼν Κενέζ, ἡγεμὼν Θαιμάν, ἡγεμὼν Μαζάρ,
43the chief of Magdiel, the chief of Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is Esau the father of the Edomites.
43ἡγεμὼν Μαγεδιήλ, ἡγεμὼν Ζαφωίν. οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἐδὼμ ἐν ταῖς κατῳκοδομημέναις ἐν τῇ γῇ τῆς κτήσεως αὐτῶν. οὗτος Ἡσαῦ πατὴρ Ἐδώμ.
