1When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
1เมื่อพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงนำเข้าไปในแผ่นดินที่จะเข้าครอบครอง และทรงขับไล่ชนชาติมากมายออกไป คือชาวฮิตไทต์ ชาวเกอร์กาชี ชาวอาโมไรต์ ชาวคานาอัน ชาวเปริสซี ชาวฮีไวต์ และชาวเยบุส รวมเจ็ดชนชาติที่ใหญ่และมีกำลังมากกว่าพวกคุณ
2and when the LORD thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;
2เมื่อพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงมอบพวกเขาไว้ในมือ และพวกคุณตีพวกเขาแล้ว จงทำลายพวกเขาให้หมดสิ้น อย่าทำพันธสัญญากับพวกเขาและอย่าเมตตาพวกเขา
3neither shalt thou make marriages with them: thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
3อย่าแต่งงานเชื่อมสัมพันธ์กับพวกเขา อย่ายกลูกสาวของพวกคุณให้ลูกชายของเขา และอย่ารับลูกสาวของเขามาเป็นภรรยาให้ลูกชายของพวกคุณ
4For he will turn away thy son from following Me, that they may serve other gods; so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and He will destroy thee quickly.
4เพราะพวกเขาจะทำให้ลูกชายของพวกคุณเลิกติดตามเรา แล้วไปรับใช้พระอื่น จากนั้นพระยาห์เวห์จะทรงกริ้วพวกคุณและทำลายอย่างรวดเร็ว
5But thus shall ye deal with them: ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.
5แต่จงทำกับพวกเขาอย่างนี้: รื้อแท่นบูชาของพวกเขา ทุบเสาศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพวกเขาให้แตก โค่นเสาอาเชราห์ และเผารูปแกะสลักของพวกเขาเสีย
6For thou art a holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be His own treasure, out of all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.
6เพราะพวกคุณเป็นประชากรบริสุทธิ์ของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงเลือกให้เป็นประชากรที่เป็นของพระองค์โดยเฉพาะ เหนือชนชาติทั้งปวงบนแผ่นดิน
7The LORD did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people — for ye were the fewest of all peoples —
7ที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงรักและเลือกพวกคุณ ไม่ใช่เพราะพวกคุณมีจำนวนมากกว่าชนชาติอื่น ที่จริงพวกคุณมีจำนวนน้อยที่สุดในบรรดาชนชาติทั้งหลาย
8but because the LORD loved you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
8แต่เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทรงรักพวกคุณ และทรงประสงค์จะรักษาคำปฏิญาณที่ทรงให้ไว้กับบรรพบุรุษ พระยาห์เวห์จึงทรงพาออกมาด้วยมืออันทรงพลัง และไถ่พวกคุณออกจากความเป็นทาส จากอำนาจของฟาโรห์กษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์
9Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God; the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations;
9เพราะฉะนั้น จงรู้ว่าพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณเองคือพระเจ้า เป็นพระเจ้าผู้ซื่อสัตย์ ผู้ทรงรักษาพันธสัญญาและความรักมั่นคงแก่คนที่รักพระองค์และรักษาพระบัญชาของพระองค์ไปถึงพันรุ่น
10and repayeth them that hate Him to their face, to destroy them; He will not be slack to him that hateth Him, He will repay him to his face.
10แต่พระองค์ทรงตอบแทนคนที่เกลียดพระองค์ด้วยการทำลายเขา พระองค์ไม่ทรงผัดผ่อนกับคนที่เกลียดพระองค์ แต่จะทรงตอบแทนเขาโดยตรง
11Thou shalt therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command thee this day, to do them.
11เพราะฉะนั้น จงรักษาพระบัญชา ข้อกำหนด และกฎเกณฑ์ที่ผมกำลังสั่งในวันนี้ และทำตาม
12And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep with thee the covenant and the mercy which He swore unto thy fathers,
12ถ้าพวกคุณฟังกฎเกณฑ์เหล่านี้ ยึดถือและทำตาม พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณก็จะทรงรักษาพันธสัญญาและความรักมั่นคงที่ทรงปฏิญาณไว้กับบรรพบุรุษ
13and He will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; He will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy land, thy corn and thy wine and thine oil, the increase of thy kine and the young of thy flock, in the land which He swore unto thy fathers to give thee.
13พระองค์จะทรงรัก อวยพร และทวีจำนวนพวกคุณ จะทรงอวยพรลูกหลานและผลผลิตจากแผ่นดิน ทั้งธัญพืช เหล้าองุ่นใหม่ น้ำมัน ลูกโค และลูกแกะ ในแผ่นดินที่ทรงปฏิญาณไว้กับบรรพบุรุษว่าจะประทานให้
14Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
14พวกคุณจะได้รับพรมากกว่าชนชาติทั้งปวง จะไม่มีชายหรือหญิงคนใดในหมู่พวกคุณเป็นหมัน และไม่มีสัตว์ตัวผู้หรือตัวเมียเป็นหมัน
15And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness; and He will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
15พระยาห์เวห์จะทรงนำโรคภัยทั้งหมดออกไป และจะไม่ทรงให้โรคร้ายของอียิปต์ที่พวกคุณรู้จักเกิดขึ้นกับพวกคุณ แต่จะทรงให้เกิดกับคนที่เกลียดพวกคุณ
16And thou shalt consume all the peoples that the LORD thy God shall deliver unto thee; thine eye shall not pity them; neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.
16จงทำลายชนชาติทั้งหมดที่พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงมอบให้ อย่าสงสารพวกเขา และอย่ารับใช้เทพเจ้าของพวกเขา เพราะสิ่งนั้นจะเป็นกับดักสำหรับพวกคุณ
17If thou shalt say in thy heart: 'These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?'
17ถ้าคิดในใจว่า ‘ชนชาติเหล่านี้มีจำนวนมากกว่าฉัน แล้วฉันจะขับไล่พวกเขาออกไปได้อย่างไร?’
18thou shalt not be afraid of them; thou shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt:
18อย่ากลัวพวกเขา จงจำให้ดีว่าพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงทำอะไรกับฟาโรห์และอียิปต์ทั้งหมด
19the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out; so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.
19จงจำการทดสอบครั้งใหญ่ที่พวกคุณเห็นมากับตา หมายสำคัญ การอัศจรรย์ มืออันทรงพลัง และแขนที่เหยียดออก ซึ่งพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงใช้พาออกมา พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณจะทรงทำอย่างเดียวกันกับชนชาติทั้งหมดที่พวกคุณกลัว
20Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and they that hide themselves, perish from before thee.
20ยิ่งกว่านั้น พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณจะทรงส่งฝูงตัวต่อเข้าไปท่ามกลางพวกเขา จนคนที่เหลือและคนที่ซ่อนตัวอยู่พินาศหมด
21Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for the LORD thy God is in the midst of thee, a God great and awful.
21อย่าหวาดกลัวพวกเขา เพราะพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกคุณ พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าผู้ยิ่งใหญ่และน่าเกรงขาม
22And the LORD thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little; thou mayest not consume them quickly, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
22พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณจะทรงขับไล่ชนชาติเหล่านี้ออกไปทีละน้อย พวกคุณจะทำลายพวกเขาทั้งหมดในคราวเดียวไม่ได้ มิฉะนั้นสัตว์ป่าจะเพิ่มจำนวนขึ้นจนเป็นภัยแก่พวกคุณ
23But the LORD thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and shall discomfit them with a great discomfiture, until they be destroyed.
23แต่พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณจะทรงมอบพวกเขาไว้ในมือ และทำให้พวกเขาแตกตื่นสับสนอย่างหนักจนถูกทำลาย
24And He shall deliver their kings into thy hand, and thou shalt make their name to perish from under heaven; there shall no man be able to stand against thee, until thou have destroyed them.
24พระองค์จะทรงมอบกษัตริย์ของพวกเขาไว้ในมือพวกคุณ และพวกคุณจะลบชื่อของพวกเขาให้สูญไปจากใต้ฟ้า จะไม่มีใครยืนต้านพวกคุณได้จนกว่าจะทำลายพวกเขาหมด
25The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire; thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.
25จงเผารูปแกะสลักของเทพเจ้าพวกเขา อย่าโลภเงินหรือทองที่ติดอยู่บนรูปเหล่านั้นและเอามาเป็นของตน มิฉะนั้นจะติดกับดัก เพราะสิ่งนั้นเป็นสิ่งน่ารังเกียจสำหรับพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ
26And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, and be accursed like unto it; thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
26อย่านำสิ่งน่ารังเกียจเข้าบ้าน มิฉะนั้นพวกคุณจะกลายเป็นสิ่งที่ถูกกำหนดไว้ให้ทำลายเหมือนมัน จงรังเกียจและเกลียดชังมันอย่างที่สุด เพราะมันเป็นสิ่งที่ถูกกำหนดไว้ให้ทำลาย
